    Steak Tartare
    Jackie L.

My siblings and I took our father to this establishment for his birthday. It was located in the heart of downtown Beaverton. Inside was a dimly lit quaint space when we entered. Staff was very welcoming and well versed with the flavor profiles of the menu items. They also recommended the appropriate number of dishes to order based on the number of people at our table. We started with the oysters on the half shell. They were perfectly sized and succulent with a hint of sweetness. The steak tartare in itself was very rich and melted in your mouth. I would have preferred to have only that alone. The rest of the dish was inspired to have a fusion leaning toward Vietnamese pho. But all those extra fixings took away from the tartare. The Ouefs En Mayonnaise had bacon, smoked roe, and maple stuffed in soft boiled eggs. It would have been a great execution, but the sweetness of the maple overpowered the underlying depth of the dish. The broccoli cobb salad with the fried chicken was really dense. There was a ton of sunflower seeds and dressing. The serving size of the chicken was generous but the amount they gave us weighed down the dish even more. The foie gras dumplings with the leek broth and shallot jam had a lot of potential as well. The pasta was a little too al dente. The stuffing was overly heavy and sweet, even for foie gras. The braised lamb shoulder with the saffron whipped potatoes and ratatouille was very tender and done perfectly. There was just something about that sides in it that were underwhelming. The ricotta gnocchi were well seared on the outside and bouncy on the inside. The corn veloute, fried sage, and parmesan were very complimentary. For dessert, we got the mango sticky rice sundae. The mango dole whip was exotic and tangy. The pandan rice pudding rounded that out. Last but not least we also ordered the earl gray panna cotta with poached rhubarb and oat streusel. This dessert in particular was the shining star. The panna cotta was completely silky with bright notes of bergamot. The rhubarb added just a hint of tang. All around it was just really tasty and we were fighting over who got the next bite. Overall, this was a unique French experience. It is rather expensive and it is expected that you order quite a few dishes, since they are smaller in size, if you want to be full. Some of the food combinations were not symbiotic. Several of them leaned more heavily toward being sweet rather than savory. I would consider maybe coming back for a happy hour but not sure I would return for a regular course meal.

The vibe, service and food are all very good. Not super casual but also not too fancy. I got the crab crepes and i definitely think i will come back for that. I got the duck frites for entree and it was very tasty. The duck was very soft, juicy and bouncy but the skin was roasted crispy so together it was a delightful. I would say the flavor profile was of something ive tasted before and not super special but seasoned well and overall satisfied with their food.

Canard has a casual, yet chic atmosphere with elevated American comfort dishes that have a French influence. There's seating on two floors, however, even on Thursday night it was packed, so definitely make sure to secure a reservation. I got the passion fruit lime soda to drink, which was sour and refreshing. The burrata came with fruity chutneys and chili crisp. These sauces created a nice spicy, tangy, and salty flavor profile. The garlic naan that came with the burrata was a bit too toasted for my liking. For my main, I got the ricotta gnocchi. It was incredible. The chanterelles on top were delicious. I loved the bourguignon sauce as it had a strong umami flavor. The gnocchi itself was soft and pillowy. Overall the dish was indulgent and robust in flavor.

Lovely and attentive service. Delicious food. We enjoyed the ambience and feel of this renovated movie theater. We had the Dungeness Crab Crepes, l'Omelette, a Steam Burger, and the Pine Nut Sundae. Everything was beautifully prepared and tasted elevated and delicious. We will come back!

First time in ages trying their new Westside location and loved it. Nice ambience - open and airy, parking could be challenging, great service and all around classic Portland dining now in Beaverton . Had happy hour oysters, Steamed Buns, Steak Tartar, Foie Gras Dumplings ( the taste excellent but skin was way undercooked ), crispy broccolini. All exceeded expectations except the Dumplings

Yay! Back again. The majority of the food is exceptional. The one-off was that the.fries were way over-salted this time. The server said that they have a new cook on the fries and she would notify him. (I hope this isn't too presumptuous but if that person is a smoker, they're not gonna be able to taste the salt the same way that we do. Just a note for whoever reads this). Black forest Sundae was good....I would've loved to have had more cherry. The ice cream dominated this dessert. The beef bourguignon tasted similar to what we've had at le pigeon.... Just a note that the sauce is heavy on the wine, and this time, had a bit of heat! All in all a good meal, thank you!

My husband selected this newer location for our early Valentine's Day dinner. They were noted for their James Beard award winning chef. So here we go! The Beaverton location Is housed in an old theater so looks deceiving from the outside. Don't let that stop you! This quaint bar is really a lovely restaurant that serves taste bud bursting food that should not be missed! We started with the oysters in the half shell and a pomegranate soda drink that the server recommended... plus a very delicious pear and goat cheese salad. Actually, everything we had our servers recommended and EVERYTHING was amazing! I had the braised rabbit that touted mashed potatoes with some sort of tomato sauce I cannot describe except to say I didn't know rabbit tasted so good. Hubby had the braised pork short ribs that were atop sweet potatoes and a lovely sauce that made this dish a sweet and savory sensation! Truthfully, I liked his dish a bit more. Then got dessert, I had the s'mores icebox cake and he did the pineapple soft serve. We switched and demolished them both! The bill was not as bad as we expected... $140ish for two The downside? Parking... you have to park in the street and we got blocked in really tight but eventually made it out

Wow--days later and my taste buds are still dancing. I honestly can't remember the last time I had a meal this memorable. I have no idea what they did to the roasted broccoli, but it was hands down the best I've ever had. I guarantee that if you're trying to get a child to eat broccoli, this is the dish that will do it--there's no way they'd turn it down. And then there was the shining star: the gnocchi. Not to be repetitive, but it was truly the best gnocchi I've ever had in my life. To top off an already amazing meal, we ordered the Black Forest Sundae--literally the cherry on top. I rarely order dessert at lunch, but this was absolutely worth every calorie. Everything was outstanding: our server Caleb, the ambiance, and of course the food. My only advice is to make a reservation. It was incredibly busy when we went for lunch, and we were very lucky to get seated without one--but I doubt that's always the case.

so excited to have a location open up in beaverton! the oysters by the half shell are a must - probably one of the few places that serve quality ones. the eggs never disappoint either, and i remember having the foie gras dumplings that were really good too at the portland location. considering how consistent the food has been, i would highly recommend opting for them if youre feeling fancy. of course with a place like this, you can expect service to be top notch - they are super warm and welcoming. whether it be a special night out or if youre just seeking an elevated meal, canard fits the bill.

I've been to the original one and lived it. Was so excited to hear they were opening up in Beaverton! Made it in today. Got here around 11:30- not to bad. Busy, but no wait. My server Zaida was friendly and helpful. I ordered two of their Sliders and the omelet. Omg- Fantastic! The Sliders are like a high end White Castle- so good and cheesy! The omelet comes with a side salad of greens with a lite vinaigrette dressing. The omelet itself is literally with an herbed goat cheese filling. Amazing and they complimented each other perfectly. I can't wait to comeback!

My husband and I went to Canard on Tuesday for our anniversary. The restaurant is really nice and lively but very hard to find parking. Staff were warm and friendly. We ordered the steak tartare, duck frites, crispy broccolini, and glazed pork rib. We didn't order the Oeufs but it was brought out as a gift. There was some confusion tho because lack of communication, we sent the server back since we didn't order it but later we were told it was a gift and she dropped it back off, which was sweet but I don't particularly like deviled eggs. The best dish was the crispy broccolini! It was delicious. The steak tartare was ok. The duck frites were a bit salty and kinda chewy. The glazed pork rib wasn't too bad but it felt kinda dry. I would say the restaurant isn't too bad but it's not worth the hype.

Great interior, nice selection of food, and friendly service. So glad to see Canard in Beaverton. Their French toast was delightful and bruleed to perfection and I got a breakfast plate as well. My friend enjoyed her gnocchi as well. Looking forward to trying it again and perhaps trying their dinner menu.

Simple, balanced, and executed well. The wine pairing complemented everything nicely without overpowering the food, which I appreciated. What made the biggest impression, though, was the service--especially from the owners. They were welcoming, attentive, and genuinely engaged without being over the top.
