Ribeye
Darren O.

Came in last night- they were mildly busy but still had tables open for walk ins. We ordered the cucumber salad, steamed dumplings, tenderloin bites, and the Prime Ribeye special. The food came very quickly. The cucumbers were sliced thinly length wise and vere seasoned spicy.(non spicy version available too.) They were good- not mind blowing, but good. The steamed dumplings were so good. Steamed in banana leaves, and a different dumpling than i have ever tasted. Just amazing. Never tasted anything like them. Id go back just to get a couple orders of these. I got the prime Ribeye medium rare. Cooked and seasoned perfectly. I may have added a little salt and pepper, but not much. Really good. My wife said the Steak Bites were good, but there was a problem. She tasted mine first. She said she would have liked hers more had she not tried mine. The garlic mash potatoes were really good too. Im looking forward to trying the ribs and pho here in the future. Great first time!

A unique and delicious option for pho and steak in Beaverton. I came by myself so I got the pho dac biet and the steak bites and everything was so seasoned and flavored well. The sauces accompanying the steak bites were amazing. Next time I want to try a full steak and the ribs.

After finding out that Kita moved from the Tanasbourne location, I knew I had to check them out again! This location is so much larger and nicer, the decorations are great and everything looked so clean! As we walked in we were immediately greeted and seated. The servers were incredibly nice and attentive and made sure we were taken care of well! Everything about the restaurant was basically a cherry on top as the food here is top notch! The flavors were just as good as they were back at their old restaurant and they even had new items that we just had to try! I highly recommend getting the steak bites and the nuoc mam wings here, they're both amazing! The owners also had a chance to greet us and they were incredibly nice people! We noticed they checked in with basically everyone sitting in that night, such great people! I would definitely come back again!

I absolutely loved everything about this place!! The vibe was great I love how cute cozy and open it was. The dragonfruit mojito was very refreshing. They make the egg rolls in house and they were delicious 10/10. I could eat their ribeye steak everyday for the rest of my life!! Very tender, juicy and perfectly seasoned. High quality meat and not overly seasoned, marinated and seasoned to perfection. 10000/10. The ribs were very tender as well. The meat was falling off the bones which is always a great sign. The owner Helen is very sweet, attentive and friendly. She made sure we had the best quality food and had the best experience here. Her husband Chinh is very talented with the meat!! I definitely recommend their ribeye steak, it's a MUST! I plan on being a regular customer

TL:DR Truly decadent, and gourmet entrees with delightfully refreshing dessert I had to come back and partake of the good food at this place after attending a yelp sponsored event, and to validate myself for not just enjoying the perks of an elite but truthfully getting down to the roots of why I write these reviews in the first place which is to try and highlight the best of places and also provide the constructive criticism when needed. Fortunately I have no criticism for this restaurant. My in-laws were in town and wanted to treat my wife and I to a delicious pre anniversary dinner. I immediately remembered my first experience here and decided that this was important enough to warrant the visit from North Portland. Both my in-laws and my wife had the steak bites which were properly marinated and savorful in their own right. And I had the ribeye steak which was even better heightened in terms of flavor. My general rule when it comes to steak or high quality meat which is very hard to master is that one, the marinade or seasoning should not overpower the dish and two, I should not need to add any additional salt or pepper to assist the steaks flavor profile unless I truly want to taste more of it. The steak bites and the ribeye were a perfect blend of savory and richness. The ribeye was somehow better than the steak bites even if it was a bite more pricey. Needless to say from the pork and shrimp egg rolls, the delicious cocktails, the steak and our refreshing dessert everything was thoughtful and had purpose behind it. As for the restaurant itself and the service both were pleasant. I had no issue with the restaurant ambiance or with the servers they were attentive and the food came out in a reasonable time. Overall a pleasant experience.

We came here for a quick dinner. They had both pho and steak options. I had the Pho Kita Special and my dad had the Kita's Fusion Angus Ribeye steak. The pho broth felt a little bland for me and could've used a bit more flavor. The steak was on the thinner side. The service was decent. Overall, I think i would need to come back on another day to try it again.

We visited, for the first time, for Mother's Day dinner and overall had a really great experience. The food was delicious. The steak was flavorful and cooked beautifully, and the drinks were just as impressive. Our service was attentive, friendly, and made the evening feel special even during a busy holiday rush. The only constructive feedback I would give is that the restaurant gets very loud because the space echoes, and when large tables were being rearranged, the dragging chairs became extremely distracting and uncomfortable on the ears. It may help to lift and set the chairs down instead but aside from that, we truly enjoyed our meal and would come back again.

Visited new location and tried their new wings on the menu and pear lychee martini, both are a must try! Service was fabulous! Ambiance was chill and perfect for date night.

Summary.... this place is simply amazing..... It is not huge --- but it is perfect and actually surprisingly holds a lot of guests. We had a stand up event here first and there were like 50 of us I think or it seemed that. Since then I have come back and had dinner brought the boyfriend even... Told him they were voted best steak and I think top 10 in the nation to be sure... That being said -- this place is CLEAN and welcoming. The family that owns it is amazing so be kind to them! Bathrooms are well kept. Basically a full bar -- but the reality is that you need to have a drink off the menu because they have AWESOME DRINKS. If you go fall of 2025 ask for Sweater Weather a drink not on the menu but is FREAKING awesome kinda like Spiced Apple Cider with Fireball... oh so amazing. Everything I have had here is awesome. Had salad/Summer rolls and they were big and delicious. The peanut sauce is AWESOME. BUT what I must say you need to get at the very least are some of the OG Steak Bites... just do it and trust me! They are tender and so full of flavor from the marinating. The olive oil cake was also very good -- light, fluffy and full of flavor. Definitely visit here, definitely try the food AND drink and have a fun time. I need to try soup some time but I am always full after steak!

OG steak bites

The OG steak bites was simply good and tender. The my mentioned that they are typically about an ounce per steak bites and up 8-9oz(I may be incorrect in saying that). We thought the value of it was good. I was in between the steak bites and the steak and I wasn't disappointed. The menu itself is a bit of a sticker shock but the steak was worth it. Enough to keep it in our restaurant rotation if we're craving a good steak. Trust, we have been to El Gaucho, and I would come back here before going back to El Gaucho. We also had pho and it was nice. The broth was not sweet, which some other pho restaurants do their broth on the sweeter side so we enjoyed it. My partner did say she wished it had more meat in it. Maybe we're pulling experience from our pho experience. Staff is great. No complaints. Personable and attentive. Try it for a date night!

Finally! I made my visit to Pho Kita steak & ribs today! Lemongrass marinated filet mignon melted away in every bite. I wished I ordered the full steak but wanted to taste the other dishes as well. BBQ pork rib was soft and so well seasoned. Just rightly seasoned carrot and cucumber salad was great pairing for steak. Kita tofu was a great dish, I could eat the whole plate with bowl of rice-if I wanted smaller plate. Pho was so very generous and clear broth was the kind I love. Their service was Amazing! Kiara and the other staffs, Thank you!¡ surely like to return in my next visit!!!

Worth every mile of the road trip! We stopped at Pho Kita Steak and Ribs during a birthday weekend road trip, and this place was exactly what we needed after hours on the road -- comforting, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. The atmosphere is a solid 5/5: warm, welcoming, and full of that comforting family-owned restaurant feel. The service was exceptional - genuinely kind, attentive, and made us feel right at home from start to finish. And the food? AMAZING. Every dish was bursting with flavor and clearly made with care. This was actually my mom's second visit, and she specifically wanted to come back just to eat the Vietnamese steamed dumplings, they are that good. Soft, flavorful, and absolutely unforgettable. You can feel the love and pride put into every plate here. If you're looking for a spot that fuels you up and comforts you after a long drive, this is it. We'll absolutely be back.

[Format & Space] Seat yourself*, review the menus at the table, order at the bar, they bring your food and drinks to your table. *Plenty of tables, some with long benches, others with chairs on the inside. There's also a large patio. This is a welcome and safe space. [Drinks] Right up front, I'm going to tell you I'm a lightweight. I'm allergic to alcohol, so I don't drink often. Here's one of the things I love about The 649. They have a fantastic selection of mocktails that are created with the same creativity, flair, and intention as a "leaded" cocktail. I appreciate that I get to participate and not be stuck with a lemonade, zero alcohol beer, or wine. So, HUZZAH for creating an inviting space for a non-drinker! There *are* times when I'm willing to risk the lobster-bod, itchiness, and stuffy nose and there are plenty of cocktails from which to choose! [Food] There's a nice selection of sharable plates and mains. I've personally tried the flatbread pizza, Bavarian pretzel, Cubano, and Brisket Press, all of which were delish. [Service] The service has always been fabulous. The staff are welcoming, friendly, and helpful. [Activities] There are a few TVs around the bar with sports. It was a great place to catch some of the World Cup games. Additionally, there are several games that you can borrow and play, which is a lot of fun. [Location] Tucked in a busy shopping center with Safeway as an anchor. Parking hasn't been super problematic yet, but based on one of the other reviewers (Ron R - loved your formatting too, so I borrowed it until we get rich text formatting or emojis!) I can see where it could be a challenge.

They have a mocktail here that I thought could not be beat.... It's absolutely incredible... I came in tonight to order my dancing Queen mocktail... They offered instead an off menu. Mocktail for me to try... All I can say is in 44 years. I've never had something so delicious and I am very well traveled!!! I can't tell you the name of it. Y'all can come in and check it out but it does how fresh watermelon in it cannot beat that on a hot summer day. I've been waiting for an establishment like this to show up on the west side for over 20 years. So happy I found Wax social.

If you only hit one craft cocktail bar on your visit to Portland, make it this one…read more Wax Social is a speakeasy and vinyl listening lounge tucked inside a Best Western in the West Hills.. and I mean that in the best way possible. Super moody lighting, hundreds of framed musician photos covering every wall, warm comfortable seating, and a custom hi-fi sound system that will rearrange your expectations for what a speakeasy bar and listening lounge can be. It's a hidden gem in the most literal sense: no signage on the outside and nothing to tip you off as you enter the building. To find Wax Social you walk through the hotel lobby at 9900 SW Canyon Rd, up a staircase left of the registration desk, and look around until you find a frosted glass door marked "Listening Lounge." Open it. You'll be glad you did. Start with the cocktails. The menu is split between elevated timeless classics and original house creations, and both sections of this cocktail menu can bang. The King of Pain is rum-forward and finished with an orange coconut foam that looks as good as it tastes. The Watermelon Man showcases Japanese gin and elderflower in a refreshing and complex profile that's hard not to love. The Sweetest Taboo is a mezcal drink built around blue maize, red bell pepper, pineapple, and lime that hits that rare combination of bold and perfectly balanced. Light My Fire brings blanco tequila and Ancho Reyes together with habanero bitters for real depth. If you want to wander off-menu, they can handle that flawlessly too. Over several visits I've enjoyed a Paper Plane, Tommy's Margarita, Gimlet, Last Word, Too Soon, and others, all executed perfectly. On one visit, the guy next to me at the bar was visiting Portland from Sweden and ordered a Flip. I've been to a lot of craft cocktail bars and never heard someone order one. Clayton, one of the bartenders, didn't blink. Went right to work making a luxurious Flip from memory that the customer couldn't stop raving about. I was impressed. Clayton is also working on several rum-forward cocktails coming to the menu later this summer - I love rum drinks enough to say that sitting at the bar talking shop and the concepts he's tinkering with is worth a visit on its own. Full mocktail lineup, plus wine, bubbles, and craft beers. Now about the sound system. DJs spin all-vinyl sets of funk, soul, R&B, and deep cuts across decades on a custom hi-fi setup that sounds absolutely incredible. Even when the DJ is in full flow and the music is turned up, you can still hold an easy conversation with a group of six or eight people. I've been there with a large group in the back corner on couches and comfortable chairs and everyone kept commenting on it. The music is present and powerful and somehow never swallows the laughter and conversation happening around you. They clearly built this bar around the music. The food is a genuine surprise for a craft cocktail lounge. Think small plates/tapas in terms of dining style: you come for the drinks and next thing you know you've ordered half the menu, made a dinner of it, and somehow backed into a beautiful evening of food, drink, and music. Must-orders: ahi poke nachos, deviled eggs, braised pork gnocchi. Don't overlook the shaved asparagus and white bean salad with sherry vinaigrette, Manchego, and crispy shallots. Simple and elegant and every bit as good as the more indulgent plates. Steak bites and shrimp are worth ordering too. Bring friends so you can order more and share. Owners Sean and Travis are present most nights, greeting you at the door and checking in at your table. That care shows in everything here, including a staff that knows how to read the room. A few things worth knowing: parking is easy, the location is simple to reach from Portland or Beaverton, and the bathrooms are spotless. Open late on weekends. Whether you're planning a romantic date night in Portland, a special occasion, a group night out, or just a solo evening at the bar with someone who really knows cocktails, this is your spot. Among the best craft cocktail and listening lounge experiences in the greater Portland metro area. You've gotta check it out.
