Canastas BOWLS with Chicken... Well, the half I didn't demolish.
    Amy M.

We were walking by to go into the mall, and smelled something amazing, so we decided to pop in. We ordered at the kiosk so we could thoroughly peruse the menu and there were a lot of tasty looking options. I liked that everything had a picture, and most of them you could click on to see what it was made of. I ordered the chicken bowl and it was AMAZING. I demolished about half of the bowl before coming up for air and to take a picture. I saved the rest to eat for dinner because it is PLENTIFUL. The chicken is delicious! I love the spices on it. Hubs opted for the chicken burrito, and I'm guessing it was pretty good too, since he never even had a chance to offer me a bite before he demolished half of it. It is definitely big enough to put half away for dinner too. The food came significantly faster than the kiosk said it would, so that was awesome. I stepped out when the smell of roasting meat got a little overwhelming for me, so I'm not sure how the service was, but I will definitely be back for the food.

I finally made it back. The food is consistently delicious and worth the lines. When you enter you will see two kiosks to order food. This is great if you want to look and take your time. Otherwise, go straight to the front counter and order. The line for the kiosk was ridiculous and no one was at the front counter. They have a limited drink menu and machine, but at least there is water provided now. Service is always great and the portions are huge.

This place is legit amazing. My husband and I used to make the drive out by the airport for the original location. We were planning on doing just that but then my hubs put it into the gps and we saw there was one in Chesterfield Town Center so we decided to try it out. The staff are always so nice and helpful when trying to choose (everything looks amazing). The food is legit and massive portions and the inside was super clean and decorated with scenes from Peru! Run don't walk to this spot!

Stopped in for dinner at the Chesterfield Town Center location. The inside was clean with industrial type decor. Staff were attentive, but a cool feature was the self serve kiosk that had photos accompanying most of the menu options. I like this as a family spot because of the casual vibe and quick service. The food was great and flavorful to top it off. Only docking a star because an employee was talking rudely about me to her coworkers because I put trash in a trash can that didn't have a trash bag in it not realizing it since she had walked off to get the trash bag. When I realized it was me she was talking about and what I had done, I apologized and she was fine so still definitely would come back.

    Watery disgusting

Canastas chicken on 7037 Forest hill Ave. This is the second time I went to this restaurant. First time I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Second time worse than the first the chicharron supposed to be crispy chicken thighs was garbage. It was not crunchy at all dried out got the veggie quesadilla that was also disgusting watery on the bottom and I got the steak quesadilla. It looked like chewed up steakums was not real steak And the bottom of that tray had a bunch of juice in it as well. Thought I was going to have a good lunch. Didn't happen. Went home hungry. Very disappointed. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone and they ought to be ashamed of themselves giving out food looking like that I took pics but couldn't post them was not happy

So, let's find out how the visit went. There weren't a lot of people inside and there was only one waitress attending to tables. They have a bar area, tables and booths. We decided to eat near the entrance to their supermarket. It took a while for us to roam through the menu, but decided on what we wanted a few minutes after getting seates. I chose a 1/2 chicken with two sides (fried yucca and french fries). The Peruvian chicken was pretty good and flavorful. Both the fried yucca and fries could've been seasoned more, but were plentiful. I actually saved half of my meal for takeout and tasted well for dinner. Unfortunately, the bad part of our visit was the decor. The restaurant is located in a strip mall which has seen better days. Seats at the booth are torn up.....literally. The tables are outdated. The floor is in pretty bad shape, especially near the bar area. And in the bathroom, the paper towel dispenser was not connected to the wall and instead, laying on the floor. It's not comfortable washing your hands and then turning it sideways where you can get paper. I really don't mean to sound mean,, but the decor alone would turn folks away. It needs a big renovation all around. Hopefully, down the road, they can upgrade or they may become a thing of the past :(

Best meal I've had locally in a min. The restaurant is very relaxed but it was also lunch time. No one greeted me. Had to walk to the bar for service and seat myself. My partner and I both got their steak offerings with myself getting a steak chimichanga and him getting a steak burrito. They were both oozing with flavor, we both made audible "yum" sounds as we took our first bites and then laughed at how this food made us have a cartoon moment. The fries and beans sides were also good although the fries were our favorite, the menu doesn't offer this as a side for meals but our server was able to make the substitution. We left feeling super lucky that lovely family restaurants like this exist and that we got to experience their food. Can't reccomend this spot enough, they truly care about what they are putting out and it shows. If thats not enough to convince you they also give you free chips and salsa!

This tidy little Latino market carries many Hispanic, Mexican and South American products. Being of Cuban descent, I frequently head to this site for Goya products, including rice, black beans, plantains, Adobo spices, coffee, Maria cookies, fresh fruits and veggies, tomato items, empanada shells and my "never be without" Mojo Criollo Goya marinade. This marinade truly is the spice of life and I use it in many of my recipes! You will also find baked goods, household items, and sundries at this store. There's a deli/butcher in the back and a frozen food section. There's also a small restaurant and pupuseria serving Latin fare, from Cuban sandwiches to tacos to tostones to tamales to yucca to soups/sides and more. They serve Cuban coffee, horchata, Latin sodas, and other drinks and some tempting desserts, like flan and tres leches cake. For an inexpensive, quick bite in a casual, no nonsense eatery with lots of festive atmosphere, you've gotta try Cielito Lindo, it really is "a slice of heaven". And not to worry if you don't speak Spanish, some of the folks there speak English. ¡Provecho!

The chicken itself was not dry, it was very good texture and flavor. The sauces that come with it were also all very tasty. The string beans and steamed veggies were lowkey also really good and went well with the chicken, rice, and black beans. There was also the shrimp ceviche which was definitely different than what I normally get went well, when I wrapped all the stuff in a lettuce leaf(not sure if that's what you're supposed to do). It had shrimp, some kind of sweet potato(which was good!), and Peruvian corn which was super cool. Then there was the Bistec a lo Pobre, which had Carne Asada, with fries and rice and other stuff. Also very good. Then the plantains which were all very good, definitely added a nice sweet addition to the meal. To top it all off, there was a cookie I was not sure the name of but it was good LOL.
