Wow! I stopped by Canastas instead of cooking dinner and they did not disappoint! When you walk in there's a full menu you with a plethora of options and you can see your side options through the serving bar. I went with the 1/4 chicken (dark meat) with green breads and fried rice. I also ordered an extra side of plantains (perfectly ripe and sweet!) The service was great and they were patient as I figured out what I wanted. Theres space to sit inside, and a patio to enjoy as well. I definitely see this place being part of my dinner rotation when I don't feel like cooking. Everything was flavorful and delicious. Oh and the sauces! How could I forget?! There a yellow sauce and a green sauce that complemented the chicken really well. I drizzled it of my veggies and rice too lol I'm excited to try something new next time

Soon as i open my car door i could smell some good flavors coming from the outside. I heard only good things about this restaurant. We took another shot once again to see if this restaurant will be as good as chicken fiesta. When I arrived inside, I was greeted immediately and placed my order. There was a 10 minute wait on the pork chops. As I waited for my food, more people came in. So that was a good sign to me. Once we arrived home and opened up the containers, the aroma from the chicken hit us in the face. The pork chops had that chargrill flavor we like and it was tender to eat. The chicken was not dry or tough. The sides are decent portions and are bursting with flavor as well. Hands down this will be my go to restaurant for that grill flavor I love so much. I will be trying the lamb chops and shrimp on my next visit.

Canastas never disappoints wether it's doordash or in store. You have to try the chicken!!! So fresh, right out the oven, extremely well seasoned (beware of sodium) but overall it's so good & can make multiple different meals from the whole chicken.

I love me some Peruvian Chicken! This charcoal rotisserie chicken ranks high on my list! The skin is nicely seasoned and the chicken is juicy and tender! I ordered the 1/2 chicken with cilantro rice with black beans and plantains for my sides, but the yucca was tempting! The garlic sauce was a perfect compliment to the chicken! It was all delish at $12. I also ordered a bottled tea, which brought my total to $16! Talk about sticker shock! Canastas has great food, a decent atmosphere with some outdoor seating, and ok service. I'll be sure to order water next time though! Come for the chicken, it's something to squawk about!

The food was EXCELLENT. The chicken is juicy and flavorful, the cilantro rice was fluffy and also flavorful and the plantains were perfect and a nice sweet touch. The meal was $15 and I was given extra sauce free of charge. The service was fast and friendly. I will be back soon!

This food was absolutely delicious!!! The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because those potatoes were a little hard and tasted a little old... but honeyyyyyyy..... omg... that grilled pork chop was everything i didn't know i needed!!! Goodness!! I will be back... this week... lol!! That chicken was so tender the bone just slid right on out... and those plantains!!! Whew chileeeee delicious. But back to the pork chop. It is cooked to order. It is in whatever their marinade is that they have and when we cut into it, it was just so tender and juicy!! Oh!! I forgot about the steak quesadilla!!! Goodness that thing was so juicy and delicious. I can't wait until I have to go back to that side of town on Wednesday lol!! Because listen to me when I tell you, this place DID NOT DISAPPOINT AT ALL!! Another plus was that the bathroom was very clean and the employees were nice!!

This salmon!!!! Always hits!!!! Get the salmon, green rice & green beans!! Get extra green & yellow sauce! The passion fruit juice is great too!!! Their plantains are good too! I usually get my foos to go but the inside is very spacious. Service is always good.

Always great food, cooked to order and fresh! Love how juicy any of the chicken dishes are and the staff is always so friendly.

Saw this restaurant mentioned several times on social media and decided to check it out. The first visit I tried the chicken. It was very flavorful and tender. For my sides I got the green rice and plantains; the green rice is tasty - I taste cilantro and that takes it up a notch for me. The plantains were cooked perfectly and they give you a lot... enough for two. My second trip I decided on the lamb chops and I enjoyed that nice wood fire/charcoal taste. I couldn't help but get the green rice and plantains again. If you're thinking of trying one of the traditional drinks, I would suggest the Maracuya (passion fruit). The customer service was great and service was fast. The Southside location offers indoor seating if you prefer to dine in.

I ate here for the first time last week and thought the food was good. Extremely large portions and I only hope it stays that way and not just to lure customers in. I also tried the chicken empanadas and those were very tasty. The cost was a little High but given the portion it is not too bad. I would eat here again.

Give me all of the chicken and chaufa and beans and plantains. I want to marry this restaurant I love it so much if you don't go here after reading this review then just go to jail because you committed a crime against yourself. Ok bye

So, let's find out how the visit went. There weren't a lot of people inside and there was only one waitress attending to tables. They have a bar area, tables and booths. We decided to eat near the entrance to their supermarket. It took a while for us to roam through the menu, but decided on what we wanted a few minutes after getting seates. I chose a 1/2 chicken with two sides (fried yucca and french fries). The Peruvian chicken was pretty good and flavorful. Both the fried yucca and fries could've been seasoned more, but were plentiful. I actually saved half of my meal for takeout and tasted well for dinner. Unfortunately, the bad part of our visit was the decor. The restaurant is located in a strip mall which has seen better days. Seats at the booth are torn up.....literally. The tables are outdated. The floor is in pretty bad shape, especially near the bar area. And in the bathroom, the paper towel dispenser was not connected to the wall and instead, laying on the floor. It's not comfortable washing your hands and then turning it sideways where you can get paper. I really don't mean to sound mean,, but the decor alone would turn folks away. It needs a big renovation all around. Hopefully, down the road, they can upgrade or they may become a thing of the past :(

My partner and I both got their steak offerings with myself getting a steak chimichanga and him getting a steak burrito. They were both oozing with flavor, we both made audible "yum" sounds as we took our first bites and then laughed at how this food made us have a cartoon moment. The fries and beans sides were also good although the fries were our favorite, the menu doesn't offer this as a side for meals but our server was able to make the substitution. We left feeling super lucky that lovely family restaurants like this exist and that we got to experience their food.
