Fun spot! The interior decor is fun. The service was fantastic. We had a group of 14 and the server was so great and attentive. He asked if we wanted separate checks and we did. I always think it's so accommodating when the servers ask because it's always an awkward experience paying when it isn't separate checks for large groups. The drinks are great and cheap! I got the raspberry frozen margarita the jumbo size and it was so tasty... gave me a brain freeze because it's so cold (the drink and weather). The food was good but I was disappointed with the chimichanga there wasn't that much sauce on it. The fajita quesadilla is not a quesadilla. It says it's for quesadilla lovers but it is not a quesadilla. It is basically just a fajita which was weird because it was advertised as for quesadilla lovers. Lastly I want to mention that the red hot habanero sauce is no joke.... it is very very very spicy. I love spicy sauces but I could not handle this hot sauce. It was crazy hot. I really hate to give a negative review to Cancun because the food and service is consistently good. However, my wife and I ate there last night and I think we got taken advantage of. We each ordered a jumbo margarita, but we could not taste much if any tequila in the drink so we ordered a shot of tequila to add to it. Later we ordered on more shot to add to the margarita and finally got it just right. However, when we got the bill, the shots of tequila were over $8.00, while the original margarita was $7.50. At the time, I didn't want to make a big deal over it, so I just paid the bill. However, after giving it some more thought, I really think they intentionally took advantage of us and overcharged us for the drinks. Again, I really like the food and the people that work there, but in this case I feel like I've been ripped off. read more

I've been here multiple times for lunch and dinner. Everyone I've gone with or brought has loved this place. Their chips and salsa are delicious, but the cheese dip is even better than the salsa. The food is delicious. I usually get the Burrito Cancun and I've never been disappointed at any location of Cancun I've been to. Delicious and authentic. The only downfall I think they have is their servers. You can tell which ones have been there for a while, and they always do a good job. But whenever they seem to hire in new people they tend to mess orders up all the time. I always get the fajita nachos, half steak half chicken, no tomatoes. The last time we were there (5 of us) we got our food, my nachos had tomatoes and were cold, my dads were as well. The fajita vegetables also were not cooked like they should be. They were more or less raw onions and green peppers. I told the waiter, he took our plates and told us he would fix them. By the time we got our new food, the other 3 people were finished eating..so we awkwardly sat and ate our nachos. Now, after they were done right, they were delicious! read more

Large menu with the standard Americanized Mexican options. Quality can be above average but really can vary. Overall the combo prices are reasonable but some of menu is overpriced. Better than the similar Los Tres Amigos which is also in the area, but not as authentic as El Oasis or Pablo's in Lansing. read more

I have gone here probably 20 to 30 times since it opened and had only one time where the food was a bit lackluster. Food is fresh, tasty, and service is always great. It is hard to find decent Mexican food in the Lansing area and Cancun, with one small exception, never disappoints. You rock Cancun! read more

This is the best mexican restaraunt around. I could eat here everyday. I prefer the one on Jolly road to the one by Walmart just because it is less busy and more enjoyable. My family and I drive in from all around the Lansing area, My sister and I both live in Perry and my parents are from Holt and we drive all the way into twn just to eat at Cancun. The waitstaff is excellent and they ALWAYS make us feel welcomed, whether it is my whole family that comes in or just me and my fiancee! The food is excellent and they have the BEST cheese sause to dip your chips in. They have the BEST beans and rice in town, that is how I rate my mexican restaraunts is by their rice and beans and they beat our EVERYONE! They also have great margaritas and beers along with a wide variety of childrens food for the little ones! Their fried ice cream is pretty good too! Definitly a place to try out! YUM read more

Love love love the Chicken Chimichangas! Nice colorful decorations, seating is comfortable enough. I never feel bad here... and being a big person that happens more than I'd like to admit. Lunch tends to be a little less busy (but still busy!), a friend and I actually went for lunch on a Sunday afternoon and stayed and played a game (from the car) while eating. They have tvs for the sport lover in you, can get loud here with all the people, tv, etc. The waiters tend to be more on the quiet side, but friendly enough and usually understand what you want. ;-) Dinner is always busy, one time I came late to my group's table and they already had their meals. I ordered and I swear my food was there in 5 minutes! Even though they are busy, you don't have to wait long once you order food, but unless you like to yell across the room for someone, you might be slow getting refills on drinks (although if you drink more than a glass there, you're pretty thirsty lol!) Now if I was ordering one of those margaritas everyone is getting, I might get mad if I don't have a refill... but then again, I'm not drinking an alcoholic bevarage THAT big lol. We went CMG 3/8/14 service is slow, unfriendly wait staff ,us and others had to ask for everything including the check. Spent over 50.00 they wouldn't honor 10.00 coupon ,they said good mon-thurs, it's not posted anywhere on menu or web site.I had the #3 combo which had a couple tocos enchelata and some other crap,totally bland and tasteless. Have been dining here for years. prices have gone up since I first started going but with the huge plate of food you get, it is worth it. still the cheapest place to sit down and eat around. Service varies by how when your server can speak English. If you want a special order make sure your server understands what you are asking for. If you have allergies talk to the manager so they can make sure everyone understands. Our daughter has severe milk allergies and was served cheese several times before a manager finally told us that we need to talk to them so they can supervise her order. since then we have never had another problem. read more

Not a terrible place if you want some pretty stereotypical Mexican food, though everything tastes pretty similiar to the next on the way to extensive menu. We've just visited this wonderful restaurant for the first time this weekend. It was a Sunday night and a little on the busy side, but we were seated immediately. The staff are SO friendly and helpful! Our food and drink orders were taken and received very quickly. My 2 year old unfortunately spilled her drink all over herself and the floor. The waitstaff were more concerned with her well-being, and drying her off, before they even looked at the mess on the floor, which they quickly took care of. Really, really DELICIOUS food. The hot chips and salsa are amazing. My husband and teenager ordered the chicken chimichangas, and said they were the best they'd ever had. I had the enchiladas verde-again, SO good. The kids' meals don't disappoint either. We'll definitely visit again next time we're in town! read more

Went there today for lunch and it was the worst Mexican food I have ever had. I have eaten quite a few times at the 2 locations in Okemos and the food quality varies in my opinion. I would say that I have had OK meals before-never anything that was great. Today I got the lunch special consisting of an enchilada and a burrito. I asked for chicken, but there were both just bean. My granddaughter got the children's enchalida with a taco. The enchalidas were horrible-I was unable to cut through them they were so tough-thin, flat and covered with a unappetizing sauce. The burrito was also horrible-a ton of beans in a tough flour shell. I found something that looked like piece of black plastic in the burrito. So gross. I had to wait for quite a while to even get any water, and I didn't get any silverware set up until I could flag down a waiter. They were very busy with the Okemos schools just getting out. I have never been enamoured with the Mexican food restaurants in the Lansing area. From now on, I will only go here if it is for a margharita-they are decent. I went with our family to a restaurant in Fenton last weekend-The Sagebrush Cantina. THAT was really good food. Hard to get in and packed, but the food was excellent. Check out the menu for that restaurant and try if you are in that area. The food quaily was so much better-and fresher than Cancun. read more

I never go here and on a whim, I stopped in for a late lunch. Waited at the door for 3 or 4 minutes and in that time didn't see a single person who worked there. Once I was finally noticed (by a girl who was about to walk out the door) and sat, I pretty much ordered immediately. The margarita I ordered came out right before my food did and once I tried it I got this very sour taste from it. The one time my waitress did come to check on me I told her that I didn't care for my margarita ,although my nachos were very good. She said okay and left. I also asked for the check at this time,seeing as how I had almost completely finished eating. She brings my check back and tells me to talk to (?) about the margarita when I go to pay. I walk up to the front let the guy know about my margarita and he shrugs his shoulder and pretty much tells me there's nothing that he can do about it. I showed him the margarita and let him know I clearly hadn't drank more than a couple sips. It was still full and he told me I still had to pay for it. I asked him if he was joking,he said no... instead of causing a scene I paid and left. I have been a server for over 7 years, I've been both a supervisor and bartender and I have NEVER heard of someone paying for a full drink that they didn't like. Literally ruined the whole experience. Didn't expect anything free or something instead,i simply didn't like the taste of it and paid full price for the worst margarita I've ever had.
