This is an incredibly overdue review, sorry Eric!! I won an engagement shoot with Candid Gem through Facebook and honestly wasn't sure what to expect. My fiance and I had never taken professional photos together before, and one of my biggest concerns was that we were going to feel awkward and that we'd look like stiff cardboard cutouts. I'm happy to say that is very much NOT the case! Most of our photos were prompted - instead of posing and contorting our bodies to look a certain way, he simply gave us little tasks (such as running into the water and being swung back to shore by my fiance or whispering silly things into each other's ears). They came out SO WELL, I could not believe how natural they looked! He captured the love between us so clearly, we loved them so much that we ended up spending about twice what we budgeted just so we could have a photo album, prints to hang, and the digital copies. The free shoot DID come with one free digital photo, but we just couldn't NOT have the rest. The lighting, editing, prompting, turnaround, etc. was amazing. I am sooo happy that I found Candid Gem. My photographer from Snappr canceled 3hrs before our event so I had to call a lot of companies. I left voicemails and Eric was one of the people who called me back. It was a last minute booking but he probably felt how much I really need the help so he accepted my event. (They don't normally accept all events because they want to keep the quality of their service). His schedule aligned with our needs and he was even there earlier than scheduled to make sure that everything is set before the event. He had lots of ideas on how to make the photos great. Candid Gem has been there from the start of our wedding planning. They took the time to get to know us at our engagement shoot and really taught us how to pose so for our wedding day we would be prepared. 2020 has been one heck of a year and because of Covid, our May 2020 Wedding was cancelled! I was a mess, crying, stressed and worried we would never get to experience the wedding we dreamed of. Candid Gem was so supportive and flexible and made sure to let us know they would be available for our wedding day whenever that would be. After Plan A and B failed, we decided to go with Plan C. We went from a giant 150 guest Palace of Fine Arts Wedding to a small and intimate less than 20 guest AirBnb Backyard Wedding. With cases rising we made sure to take every precaution and Eric & Gladys went and got tested along with the rest of our guests. On the day of Our Wedding they were extra precautious and still wore masks to make us feel safe. They got there earlier than expected so they could set up and start to get a feel for the AirBnb as well as get to know our wedding party. The entire day was beautiful, Candid Gem was able to join in the fun and capture every laugh, inside joke and cry that each of us had on that emotional day. Although they had just met our wedding party, every one of them felt like movie stars getting professional photos taken of them. At the end of the day my husband and I reflected on our wedding planning journey and could not believe how much better our Plan C wedding turned out to be compared to Plan A & B. Photobooth review! I first saw Eric & Gladys at my friend's wedding. I loved the backgrounds and props (Huge Warriors heads!!!). A few months later, I dragged my fiancee to a bridal show and saw Eric and Gladys' showcasing at the show. We chatted a bit and within an hour we booked them for our February wedding. Although Candid Gem was a little pricier than other options we researched, we knew the quality of the pictures and liked the props they provided. Eric and Gladys was so easy to work with! Eric and Gladys is married couple, both fun to work with and are very easy going. From meeting them to our wedding was a least 1.5 year wait time. They were always there to answer my questions and needs. From our engagement photo shoot to the wedding day, they have been on top on things. Candid Gem did such an amazing job with our Family Photos! I have to say they are so personable and fun to be with. The time that we spent together taking pictures went by so fast since we were laughing basically the whole shoot. They made my son feel so comfortable with taking the pictures. I wanted to do something memorable for my 30th Birthday Party. So, I rented a hall, got tons of food & drinks, and even hired a casino to entertain my guests! We met them at the Bay Area Wedding Fair and enjoyed taking a few photos while we were there planning our wedding. We decided to hire them for our own and they lived up to what was promised.
