I got my wife this cake for her birthday. I can't tell you how amazing the cake came out. It was a chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream inside and out. The decorations are vanilla and white chocolate, as well as the sugar cookie on top with the beautiful sea goat. Jackie, the baker, expressed excitement to do the cake, was communicative, came up with beautiful ideas for the ocean mystical theme. The execution and artistry was both spot on and otherworldly! She even put a 3rd layer on top because she had extra cake, with no charge. When my wife saw the cake, she said "Wow, this is the most beautiful cake I've ever seen!" The taste was on point and decadent. Very moist cake with amazing buttercream, 10 out of 10 for sure. I'm excited to order another cake in the future.

Our daughter usually never gets to eat the birthday cake because of her allergies to milk and egg, but for her bday we splurged and ordered her a beautiful cake from Jackie. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for. For us, it was peace of mind that she could eat the cake safely with her allergies.

I had to take a beat before writing this because I was soooo upset. I ordered two cakes, a two tier cake and a smash cake. All I wanted was a Stranger Things theme. Jackie chose the inspo pics, not me. But I liked them so I said yes. But she could NOT deliver on these designs. Her work was like a 7 year old did it. I was in shock when I opened the boxes, especially the "larger" two tier cake...which was tiny. For the smash cake, I said no buttercream inside and she said she needed to put a little. Fine but it had TWO INCHES of buttercream inside with a smear of strawberry "coulis". The light bulbs and name were so messy and the cake tasted terrible. Just pure sugar/buttercream. For the "bigger" cake, omg. Look at the pics. It's not even round. "Happy" on top. With "birthday and the name on the side. It looked AWFUL!!! I didn't let anyone see it. I took it out of the box, took pics for this review and cut it up. I don't understand why she didn't do something more simple. She CLEARLY couldn't do these cakes. Saying they were bad is an understatement. I seriously question her reviews and photos that are supposed to be her work. These cakes were like a little kid did them. I could've done them better myself or Ralph's could've done a better job. I'm still in shock she actually gave these to me as is. She ruined my daughter's cake moment and photos. Don't come here.

I ordered my vegan birthday cake one week ahead of the date needed, and the cake was ready on time for pick up. This vegan baker is an artist, and working with her to design the cake was very easy, I let her lead the process and the cake was incredibly beautiful. I don't think I could have gotten a more beautiful cake even in Los Angeles City. The cake was delicious, moist, flavorful and a decadent treat. The pickup was quick, and packed to perfection including a no slide patch in side the box so the decorations were not damaged in transport. Decor, a candle, matches, and a cutting knife were all included. The whole process was top notch professional. The attention to detail and presentation showed this bakers passion for her work. I feel that the price was 100% worth it, and competitive for the going rate. The party was awed by the cake, so money well spent. I will definitely be ordering again! Too bad I didn't get a photo before we cut the cake! I almost forgot to mention that when the cake was served, the room fell silent because everyone was taken away with how yummy the cake was.

I was skeptical about a 100% vegan cake but... wow, was I impressed by this place!!! It tastes AMAZING!!! The owner is SO sweet & pays so much attention to detail. Honestly, the cakes & cupcakes look a million times better than "professional" bakeries that will charge you ten times the price. The owner even worked with our nonprofit to donate some vegan cupcakes for an event we hosted at a local senior center. She coordinated the color of the frosting to the color of our logo (lilac!) I can't recommend this lil bakery enough and will definitely be back for more :) read more

We went for our wedding cake taste and the difference between Chaqueta and everyone else is night and day! Chaqueta cakes honestly cared about our goals/design and even made themed cupcakes for the tasting. Got a beautiful cake from here for my daughters quinceañera, it was 4 tier cake and it was almost gone by the end of the party! It was absolutely delicious! Don't let the idea of vegan cake fool you, this was so delicious! This baker is so professional and talented. My wife is lactose intolerant, so whenever I want to get cupcakes for her, I have to make sure they're dairy-free. When I saw that Chaqueta Cakes makes vegan cupcakes, I had to try them, especially when I saw how beautifully they were presented. I was skeptical since it's not your typical bakery but I'm glad I gave it a try because it was a real treat! Such a masterpiece almost a shame to eat but it would be a sin to not because the taste is divine. I got the vanilla but it tastes more like oatmeal which I love. Definitely recommend! My family is not vegan but for religious reasons we don't eat meat products during the holidays so it was a real blessing to find something everyone enjoyed especially my picky relatives! Amazing and super delicious vegan carrot cake I have ever had. & what I enjoyed about this bakery and the kind-hearted baker, she makes her cakes with so much love and detail to taste! We have one vegan family member and for his birthday, we hosted an all-vegan brunch. My family was extremely impressed by the taste. They were not expecting the vegan cake to taste so good. I think the zucchini cupcakes have a brown butter frosting that is this cupcake's perfect partner. It really seems to be a family run business. There are two young men who might be one of the owner's sons and they are both friendly and kind. Like their mother. Multiple cupcake and other types of cake places have cropped up in the vicinity over the years but my heartfelt opinion is that Sugar from the Heart is still the best.
