The Cane Tiki Room is a surprising and unexpected experience in Downtown Paso Robles. The decor and atmosphere take you straight to the Polynesian islands. Tiki totems, pufferfish lamps, lifelike toucans greeting you upon your entrance give it all the special touches you'd expect from a Tiki Bar. We arrived upon it's opening and were able to be seated immediately. The bar top seats quickly filled up and the drinks were flowing. Our waitress was courteous and friendly, promptly responding to our requests and questions. We ordered the Orange Chicken, which was a little spicy but delicious!! Good portion size and price point. If you're looking for a unique drink, come to Cane Tiki Room. It's also a unique restaurant for the downtown area. I had to get the Lapu Lapu because it came in the cutest pig mug I was very tempted to buy (one of the few you can purchase). The mix of light and dark rums + citrus were also up my alley. My boyfriend liked his Taro Taro, which had coconut and ube (emphasis on ube). We grabbed dinner here too, and honestly, I found it average. I originally wanted the ahi poke, but that wasn't available on the Sunday night we were there, so I went for a chicken teriyaki bowl. I found it somewhat strange to see it topped with avocados, would've loved more fresh, steamed vegetables. Boyfriend got the firecracker shrimp that was straight forward. For $20-$25 per dish, I would say find food elsewhere. The server was fine. They were good about checking in on us, and there weren't too many people for a Sunday night. Nothing like walking into a bar right when it opens, instead of closing one down. We arrived at Cane's, my buddy and I were the first two customers in there, as we took our seats at the end of the bar expecting a third, my girlfriend as soon as she finished work. While she had been to Cane's before neither of us had. We were greeted and provided menus for food and drink. With dinner coming shortly, we passed on the appetizer menus and ordered a few rounds of drinks. The ambience was great with that South Pacific motif and use of bamboo (or fake bamboo). The cocktail options are endless--fun, quirky, and full of character. For drinks, we tried the Lapu Lapu, Green Flash, and the Scorpion (yes, it came out in flames ). All three were refreshing and well-balanced. On the food side, we went with the Pork & Veggie Spring Rolls, Chicken Lettuce Wraps, Spam Musubi, and the Pork & Shrimp Dumplings. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and surprisingly filling for small plates. But that dipping sauce with the dumplings... you could seriously put that shhh on anything. Absolutely amazing. I came here for drinks and vibes--and Cane's absolutely delivered. I didn't end up eating (even though the food looked amazing--definitely coming back for that), but the drinks? Let me tell you. I started with the Phantom, which was absolutely delicious--balanced, flavorful, and just the right amount of mysterious. After that, I went rogue and ordered the Dragon Slayer. Now... was it tasty? Not exactly. It was strong. Like stare-into-the-abyss-and-it-stares-back strong. But honestly, the presentation was top tier--it looked so good, I didn't even care. The ambiance is laid-back and fun, with a hint of tropical drama in the best way. Everyone I met--staff and guests--was genuinely warm and welcoming. I ended up chatting with a few people at the bar and loved the whole energy of the place. Next time I'll plan to stay for food, but even just stopping in for a couple drinks turned into a highlight of my Paso Robles trip. Fun tiki bar in the downtown area of Paso Robles! Tropical vibes, colorful lights, and a lot of cocktails to choose from. We came here after dinner at Fish Gaucho next door (highly recommend) and got a Mai Tai to end the night. A well made cocktail and would come back again. Good overall approach but more of a tiki-style restaurant vs a tiki bar. There's a common approach of more modern interior tiki bars with a strip mall feel and whatnot but still a funny tiki characteristic to it. That's just the decor though not always something a business can control in today's bureaucracy. Now onto the service. They were super friendly and accommodating. Dog friendly event though they don't have an outdoor patio. Food was really tasty. Drinks were fun. Although because it was Christmas time they only offered their holiday menu. I guess Beachbum Barry really wants those holiday bar kit proceeds :( a bummer for us passing through as my husband likes to try the Mai Tai on his first visit to any bar. We had a great time at Cane Tiki Room after a day of wine tasting. I recommend the Mongolian beef, I just wish it was a little less salty but it's just the nature of the dish. The environment and ambiance is a great place. However, we had dinner and no one else was in the establishment but our party. The service was not good. We had to constantly request for our server for the basic needs such as water and drinks. Food was ok. The price for drinks, food and service was way overpriced. I wish I will never ordered from them... So unfresh , the tuna in pokibowl was 1 week old and smells.... Everything went to a trash can , we didn't eat at all. Howdy folks. Nasty Nathanial here and it's time for another one of my "Nasty" reviews. It's been awhile since I've posted any reviews. But after my visit to the Cane Tiki Room I just couldn't hold back on sharing my experience there. So strap on your safety helmets and let's get into it. So yesterday I found myself in the city of Paso Robles to conduct a First Amendment Audit. It was pretty warm that day and there's nothing better to do after a sweaty audit than to suck back a delicious alcoholic beverage. So I decided to head on over to a nearby watering hole called Cane's Tiki Room. I had actually been wanting to check out this place for awhile now and being that it was conveniently located in downtown, which is where I already was, I decided to make my way over there. It was time for me to find out if all the buzz I'd been hearing about this place was worth all the fuzz. I showed up right about the time they were opening which was 4pm. That was convenient. I walked in and was able to find me a seat right up at the bar. Also very convenient. I prefer to sit right up at the bar when I go drinking. The reason being is that you can better interact with the person is going to be mixing your drinks. That person turned out to be a friendly bartender named Ellie. Howdy Ellie. Now I was asked if I wanted to start off with some water which I thought was really groovy. Some places are so stingy when it comes to water. It's like come on people. It's water and not bourbon. But this wasn't the case at Cane's. The water was served in this tiny little glass along with a bigger bottle. The tiny glass caught my attention because I've never seen a water glass like that. Pretty unique if ask me. So I decided to go with a drink called a Scorpion. And that's not because I'm a fan of the rock band The Scorpions, which I am. But I had recently tried one for the first time during a recent trip to Las Vegas and I absolutely loved it. Well, I would soon come to love Cane's Scorpion cocktail and I'm going to tell you why right now. The Scorpion that Ellie mixed was an absolutely fabulous concoction. It had the ultimate perfecto mix of ingredients to form an absolutely fabulous cocktail. I'll give you an example how good this fine drink was. I had a hot date with a foxy dude set up for later that day. So I was limited as to how much time I could spend at Cane's. But that Scorpion was so delicious that after my first one I decided that just wasn't enough. So i ended up having three more. That in turn caused me to miss my southbound bus which in turn caused me to miss the meetup time for my date. But that's ok. I don't mind blowin' off a hot date for a delicious cocktail. One thing I should point out about the Scorpion cocktail is that it is served in this mug that is shaped like a Cobra snake. At first I was thinking why is a drink called a Scorpion being served in a mug that's shaped like a snake? But hey, both Cobras and Scorpions have a sting to them. Hehe. But whatever the reason, it was a pretty groovy mug and I decided to purchase one before I left. Something that I digged about Cane's is that it was dimly lit which is a common theme at most tiki bars. But not so much so that you have to use the light on your phone to see the drink menu. At Cane's it's a nice blend of light and darkness. I dig that. All in all I am going to say that I had an extremely groovy experience at Cane's Tiki Room. I really enjoyed myself there. Fab drinks made by a friendly bartender in a groovy atmosphere. What more could you ask for. I know. How about another Scorpion Ellie? I highly recommend Cane's to anyone who's local or passing through. Or even if you're not passing through and live on the other side of Moon, don't let that hold you back. 4+ A really fun and clean tiki bar located in the heart of downtown Paso Robles. I'm not sure how long this place has been open, but this place feels a little bit newer. I have a few friends that are huge into Tiki culture and although I can't say I'm at that level, I do enjoy finding tiki bars wherever I go and checking them out. So glad I found this place. A group of us tried to come in, but they were at capacity. Put our name on the list and went to grab dinner. The place or the area in general closes early so I ran back after dinner when was able to make last call right before 10:30. I ordered one of my go to's whatever I go to a tiki bar: the painkiller. I thought the presentation of drinks and the quality were great here. Definitely a fun place to drink. I think it was because it was a Saturday night, and it was close to closing time, but the folks here slightly overwhelmed. Don't get me wrong, they were very pleasant. It's just that they seemed just a little stressed out. This place was walking distance to the motel. I stayed at so getting here wasn't a problem nor was parking when I looked around the street. read more

Discovered this gem on a recent trip to Paso Robles. They have been open a few years, but we haven't been since Covid. We love tiki bars and always try to find one wherever we go, and voila, we found a gem. We got there when they opened at 4 pm, as we needed to have an early dinner and head on down the road. We weren't the only ones who arrived early, several tables and a few seats at the bar filled quickly and after our visit I understand the popularity. The restaurant is just off the Main Street Square in Paso, and looks like many of the restaurants until you step inside, wow! A classy but very cool tiki bar and restaurant. We were immediately seated, greeted both by the hostess and our super friendly server. We ordered our drinks, Mr. B went with the Scorpion and I had their famous Mai Tai. Our drinks came out quickly and the Scorpion was lit on fire. The Mai Tai was scrumptious and I understand why they are well known for that one. We ordered our food, and Mr. B seems to be on a roll with Ahi Tuna, he ordered the Ahi Tuna Tacos served on a crisp wonton with a crunchy slaw. I went with the Pineapple Fried Rice and added Tofu. It was perfectly seasoned and filled the tropical flavors I wanted in a Tiki Bar with a Mai Tai in the other hand. The service, food, atmosphere and drinks were fabulous! We have gone in twice now on different occasions to sit at the bar, and both times the bartender (same guy) was not at all welcoming or barely friendly for that matter. There was no smile or even a "hello" but just "What would you like?" To me, customer service matters a lot when going out. It can make or break an experience. As we were finishing up the drinks, he plopped the check in front of us and walked away. Yikes! Also, the decor is very,very cute, but we tend to check out different tiki bars as often as we can and it might do the restaurants physical ambiance a bit of good to turn the lights down. It just makes it more fun and tiki-ish, not so bright and coffee shop-like. Swagging a few fishing type ropes from the ceiling here and there might also "dirty it up" a bit so it doesn't look so perfect and contrived. Other than all that, a nice restaurant :) read more

Great vibes as soon as you get inside! It's a little confusing to be seated as there is a podium outside but never seems to be anyone there to control it. Kept getting sent back and forth from outside to inside the location and vice versa. Eventually we were able to be on the waitlist and were seated after waiting. Inside the tiki room is exactly what you would expect, a beautifully decorated bar with special attention to Polynesian culture. Great vibes! They have such fun options that honestly all drinks look delicious! I eventually decided on the lotus flower bomb and I was not disappointed. Tiki room bars are always fun to check out and this one did not disappoint. The bar has the typical bamboo decor with Hawaiian symbols that have different color lighting. There is also colorful and tropical style lighting throughout. You are sure to feel like you are on a tropical island. They have some cool blow fish light fixtures. There is an awesome wooden Tiki statue behind the bar that lights up and blows out smoke on occasion. They also have island style music playing in the background. It's loud enough to hear, but you can still carry on a conversation. We only ordered drinks and did not try any food. I visited with some friends recently and was pleasantly surprised with the courtesy of the staff and the quality of the drinks. I requested a painkiller in a pig cup, which was prepared perfectly.
