Very reminiscent of authentic east coast speak easy's woth an elevated customer service experience of cocktail wizardry. Everything was five stars. A unique five star performance was also provided by one of our servers. A gentleman from a separate party was giving this server a difficult time regarding breaking protocol. We overheard this conversation since the space is charmingly intimate. He was being an asshole actually. We love everything about this place. We're suckers for a speakeasy, so we were excited when we discovered it was there behind the Alchemist's Garden. Our reservation was at 9:00, but they told us to show up early because a table might be available earlier, which turned out to be true. We got lucky and made a day-of reservation, perfectly timed after our meal at Alchemist Garden. The Remedy is located right behind the restaurant. This place is tiny, but decorated with well worn couches and leather chairs. The floor is accented with overlapping rugs and along the back wall is a swanky liquor cabinet. Leann helped us navigate the menu, explaining flavors and crafting the perfect cocktails for us. The cocktail cart is mobile, so the mixologist rolls the cart right up to you. One thing to note is some of the drinks are pre-mixed for flavor influence and convenience, but they still served with upmost care. We made reservations for a party of four 24 hours in advance and received an email confirmation. After honoring the reservation and ordering one drink per person we asked for the check and were informed that each person was required to drink two drinks or spend $40 per some policy. We were informed that the policy was communicated via email when we made the reservation. I showed the waitress all of the emails I had received from the business and none of them mentioned the 2 drink minimum. We were charged $40 per person and given a gift card for the balance we did not consume for a future visit. I am fairly detail oriented so would have been ok honoring the policy if there had been some communication in advance but there clearly was none. This is not the way to do business. Drinks were ok as well and not worth the prices you would pay at top tier bar in New York City. read more

I could not agree more with the review posted by Chris S (see below). The $40 minimum, per person policy was NEVER articulated in the several emails that I received from Remedy. Needless to say, at $30+ per cocktail, it's easy to quickly attain that minimum. (Btw, adding smoke or dry ice to every bourbon drink does not make you a "mixologist"). In addition, calling this a "speakeasy" is a bit of a stretch. You literally walk in to the main entrance from the street and it is basically a partition off the main restaurant (Alchemist). Very disappointing. A more traditional speakeasy experience in Paso can be had a block away at 1122. read more

This speakeasy is tucked away in the back of The Alchemists' Garden with a separate entrance on 12th St. You need to secure a reservation if you want to visit this speakeasy. The cocktails are pretty expensive here (~$30+) but they start you with an aperitif and finished with a coffee liqueur. There are also olives and candied nuts/seeds included too. The show and love that's put into their cocktails are well worth the prices. Compared to the other speakeasy a few doors down, I like the vibe of this one more. It didn't feel as cramped and it came with a roaming bar! Is that what it's called? The bar comes to you! The bar seems to be gin forward. I had a gin that was infused and aged in such a way that when served, it tasted like an old fashioned. It was my 2nd favorite cocktail of the night, and off menu so I'm not sure what it was called. -Casa de Seven: My absolute favorite is on their regular menu and has the coconut ice cube and matcha. -Soil and Snow Martini: The additions were fun but tasted like a regular martini at the end of the day. -Remedy G&T: Probably the prettiest show and comes in a fun glass bowl on a swing like contraption but the most boring in taste. read more

Wow, this was a very expensive cocktail experience. It was cool to try once, but nothing about the experience made me itching to go back. Service was great, bartender was knowledgeable about the drinks and happy to explain each step. The menu is limited to what they have + some off-menu selections from previous seasons (you will have to ask for them what they have off-menu). Drinks are served/made off a rolling bar cart with utensils/ingredients. There is a $40 minimum spend per person as well. The drinks are all unique/fancy. The most expensive drink that I saw was $55 and meant to be shared by 2 ppl. I ordered their specialty G&T ($30) and the 38 special ($28). The G&T was served in a globe on top of peppermint oil that had some dry ice dropped into it to disperse a nice peppermint scent. The set up was "fun," but taste wise, there wasn't anything special tot he G&T. It was too sweet for my preference (despite them making their own elderflower syrup in house to make the sugar) and they used Fever tree tonic water. I could've made ths drink at home without the device it was served in. The 38 special was more complex - it was similar to a tiki drink with a vegan foam to simulate an egg white foam. It was tasty, but probably not $28 tasty. I've had better drinks elsewhere for cheaper; you are definitely paying a higher price for the experience. My friend ordered the Umi no Kudamono ($19) and the Blue Rose ($19). These were probably more unique in flavor profile that the ones that I ordered. the Umi no Kudamono was actually a surpassingly balanced sesame drink! The sesame wasn't overpowering at all. The Blue Rose used a vodka that had been strained after it was sous vide with blue cheese, so the cocktail had a very unique taste. read more

Wow, just wow. This place is quite possibly the coolest speakeasy ever! My friends and I accidentally booked reservations online for The Remedy instead of for The Alchemist. This mistake was the highlight of our trip! First, the ambiance was amazing! We were walked to an unmarked door where we were let in and greeted by our amazing bartender. The location was small, but not crowded with 10 or so comfortable chairs to relax in. We were immediately given a pre-drink which was the most delicious thing ever, as well as some in house seasoned nuts and olives. It is clear this place cares about the entire experience. From there we chose drinks, two of my friends knew what they wanted, but I was overwhelmed with the amazing choices and requested that the bartender (owner?) was amazing asking me questions about my pallet and what I liked in a drink. From there it was time to make the drinks, I loved watching all the artistry and learning about how many drinks are made and only eight or so are chosen to be on this menu. Lastly, let's talk about the drinks. We tried three amazing drinks, of which the banana coconut margarita was the best. The flavors were so unique and as the coconut water ice cube melted we were surprised to find chunks of coconut! This drink was a three in one flavor surprise and it was amazing. I loved the ability to have a private bar tender for a few minutes and then being undisturbed for 20-30 minutes until you're ready for a second round. But at $30+ for a somewhat underwhelming cocktail getting a second isn't exactly enticing. There is so much possibility for this venue and for this concept but for now, I don't plan on going back any time soon. read more

The drinks are hilariously overpriced for the product. $30 for a batch cocktail (!) that was fine but not excellent was a real let-down. At that price point I absolutely expect the drink to be made to order. Similar to their mother restaurant, they rely heavily on the flash of things like making calcium bath caviar for a drink and not enough on the quality of the complete experience. If the drinks were priced closer to comparable spots in the area, like 1122, I'd maybe up it to four stars. read more

The Remedy is one of the coolest speakeasy's ever!! The vibe was moody, mysterious, warm from the lights, leather couches, with easy Christmas music playing in the background, Lee Ann knew just the right questions to ask to make you a drink that was created just for you and your tastebuds. Lee Ann made me a drink that is top two of the BEST drinks I have EVER had!! I am 55 years old, so I have drank a lot of cocktails in my lifetime. And the drink was beautiful to look at.
