Came here for some sandwiches recommended by a date who is a regular. Meconi's has expanded to a few more locations but has been around for some time. Always good sandwiches according to her. So it was, with my meatball sub - hot, properly saucy with even a little kick. They didn't skimp out on the cheese either which was noticeably popping out of the sandwich with each bite. Date had her go-to turkey sub. We took them to go and, in my case, getting a hot sub it stayed warm. I'd definitely put this above Subway. The restaurant itself was spacious and looked clean enough. We ordered ahead and it was ready in the 15 minutes it took to get there. It was good to check out a local favorite sandwich shop. This particular Meconi's is amongst a strip mall development that looks like it's continuing to grow. read more

Wow. It doesn't usually rain in August but today it was raining and me and my son were in the mood for a meatball sub. When a friend recommended Meconi's we saw they had chili so we got some of that too and DAMN that may have been the best chilli I've ever had. At first I couldn't believe it, but the more of it I ate the more certain I was. I have never eaten more delicious chilli. What a total surprise. And the meatball sub wasn't bad either. A half sub is a meal in itself -- I'd only get a whole one for two people. Unless you want to save the other half for later, or you're a football player, or just have an unusually large capacity for meatballs. Stopped by Meconi's Subs in Lacey and honestly, it never disappoints. I tried the turkey sub this time and it was delicious. It was fresh, flavorful, and exactly what I was hoping for. I always love Meconi's - the quality is consistently high. Their chopped salad is excellent, especially with balsamic, and their hot subs are always good. Got subs yesterday and they seemed noticably smaller than usual. Also my husband said his wasn't as tasty as the last time and his meat was scant. Disappointing for $35. I'm sad because I have loved their subs but they seem to be going the way of 'less for more.' A product of the economy maybe? Not sure I'll be returning for a while sadly. read more

I've been coming here for the past 2 years now for lunch and my go to is the meatball sandwich. Hands down the best meatball sandwich in the south sound. I always ask them to add grilled onions and extra toasted on the bread and they always make sure it's done right. Love this place! read more

Every other time Ive gone to any Meconi's the subs have been great. Everytime my in-laws come to visit from Tennessee they want to stop by at least once. Recently I had ordered from the location closest to me. When I opened my sandwich it was mostly lettuce. I got the combo sandwich. When I called the restaurant the manager said that he made my order. He sounded like he couldn't believe my sandwich barely had meat in it. The combo sandwich he said the meat is supposed to come chopped up. We started coming here since 2019 and we still enjoy the food. What I like is the fact that they have Coke products in both a fountain and bottle, they have a wide variety of chips, and delicious cookies. I typically get a 7" Tuna w/cheddar and absolutely love it. It is the only place I get anything related to any seafood. The only real issues we have had is some vandalism in the restrooms but they are otherwise clean and in good working order. One of the big things is that during the summer their A/C is really good so it is a great spot to hang out before heading out into the heat again. read more

Meconi' is good subs don't get me wrong, they solidly beat out any chain sub such as subway or jimmy johns. They aren't however, GREAT subs. Also, and this is just my option, are a little inconsistent on quality and speed, I worked at a sub shop for about 2 years in my 20's and I could make you three foot long subs exactly to your specifications, in about 2 minutes flat. Here I watched as 3 teens spent almost 10 minutes making my two half subs. One of those had so much mayo on it all the meats and cheese started sliding out the Sammy. I want to reinforce this isn't a complaint as their prices are reasonable and again they put about half the sandwhich chains to shame. If the subs were just a little better, and the service a little faster I would bump my rating up, but for now I feel solid saying 3 outta 5 stars read more

Four stars for an easy, filling lunch. The half subs are plenty big- whole would definitely be two meals. The staff is friendly enough snd they're super easy to order from online which I appreciate. I've been a few times and so far my favorite is definitely the meatball sub. The bread they use is nice as well. This place is an elevated version of a deli. Everything is made fresh and delicious and the staff is always willing to answer any questions you have. Came here on a weekday that was forecasted to be above 90 so there were no soups or grilled salads or hot subs available. Opted for one full size pastrami sub and a half size tuna sub. The pastrami sub was good. Each half came wrapped separately so I was able to eat the second one later. My son did not care for his tuna sub because they put celery in their tuna salad. The sandwiches were good, but not as good as MSM in tacoma. Prices on full size sub are a little high, but...what isn't anymore? read more

The tomatoes on my sandwich were actually ripe (yay!!!) as opposed to red outside and greenish/whitish inside, as with many other restaurants these days. Honestly, I struggled with 5 stars vs. 4 stars -- really wanted to give them 5 because all other things considered they did a good job. But what tipped me into the 4 stars category was the fact that the sandwiches themselves were good & basic, but nothing astonishing. Menconi's is a place I have eaten at a number of times but haven't reviewed in some time... maybe ever. Right off, I like it. They don't have the motif other places have, but they make a solid, tasty sandwich. Fresh ingredients and good service are the hallmarks of this location. I do wish the condiment/drink area was cleaner. It does tend to be in disarray no matter the time of day. In a side my side comparision I would choose Meconi's over Subway or Jersey Mike's. Even a localish sandwich joint, Wally's, falls short of these guys for consistency and taste. 4 stars because they did give a better than expected sandwich. Though it was close to moving to a 3 overall because of the messy condiment area. Check it out, I think you will be pleased. read more

Went to this location today. Been to all four. I would say this was the least favorite of the them all. It is closer to my home, so that's a plus. It's a new building and there's plenty of seating and parking, which if it's anything like the other locations, they'll need. Sandwich was pretty okay. We split a full italian. They put it on separate plates for us which was nice. Our sandwich needed vinegar, Vinegar should be made available at the condiment bar. An Italian sandwich should have vinegar either way. Tha automatic paper towel dispenser in the women's room didn't work, so that sucked. Dining room could use low music. They charge you to toast a sandwich which is ridiculous.
