We ordered takeout last night and had never ate from Cannataro's, the Veal Picatta and Lasagna were amazing! The pricing could throw you off, but it's seriously worth it and you can taste the quality in the food. If i could give less than 1 Star, i would. This place has two times NOT places my catering order. Miranda both times took the order & did NOT place it. Mind you, i paid in advance & show up...then get the same story: "We don't have that order? Is it under a different name? Ohhhh we can start it now..." Ordered takeout for a family night in while staying in Ontario for a road trip and we collectively were pretty surprised. Portion size is definitely top tier. The fact that even to go you get a salad and bread with every entree made my heart flutter, I love bread. The linguine carbonara could use just a touch literally .00000000009 grams more salt and pepper but was still delicious before my additions. My only qualm is that ordering online the menus don't match. If I'm not mistaken, It says there is veal carbonara available on the menu but when ordering the only protein options are seafood or chicken. I'm a red meat girl so it kinda bugged me that I had to settle for some salmon but all in all not a huge disappointment. Totally willing to revisit, definitely recommend. read more

Meet the Business Owner: Julie C.

Julie grew up working in her parent's Italian restaurant where she learned recipes from her family in Calabria, Italy. She dreamed of owning her own restaurant someday but never thought it would be a reality. So with her family's encouragement, she started looking for the right opportunity. She found it right here in Chino, and after 15 years of hard work and determination they are still going strong! Julie is so grateful for the support of her great team of hard workers and the Chino community for helping her live her dream!

Probably no more than 40 people in the back room and that would be tight. Vince's Spaghetti in Ontario has private rooms that can accommodate the number of people you are looking for and their Italian food is very good.

What really impressed us was that she didn't guess or simply tell us what she thought--she actually went to the back of the restaurant to check. A few minutes later, she came back smiling and told our daughter that she could absolutely have the candy and that it was safe for her. It may sound like such a small thing, but for a child with celiac disease--and for parents who are constantly checking ingredients and worrying about what is safe--it meant so much. And the most amazing part? Zoey wasn't even our server. We were seated outside on the patio, but she still took the time to help our daughter and make her feel comfortable. As we talked more, Zoey shared that her niece also has celiac disease. Suddenly, we understood why she was so caring and knowledgeable. She told us how much her niece loves Pizzaioli's gluten-free pasta, explained some of the gluten-free options, and even took time to recommend other places in the area where our daughter could safely eat during the following days of our stay. That went far beyond simply doing her job. It was genuine kindness. We also want to recognize our actual server, whose name we unfortunately didn't catch. She was wonderful. But when we think back on our evening at Pizzaioli, we'll remember Zoey most. Zoey, thank you for taking the time to care for our daughter even though we weren't your table. We recently visited this Italian restaurant with a large party, for my Aunts 50th birthday and overall it was a mixed experience. Let's start with the food, because that's where they shine. The complimentary garlic bread was good and freshly made. The garlic knots were honestly some of the best parts of the meal. The calamari was flavorful and cooked well. I'm not usually a mushroom lover, but the stuffed mushrooms surprised me, they were packed with flavor and absolutely delicious. I ordered the steak with grilled veggies, and it definitely had great flavor. The salmon fillet with veggies was amazing and one of the standout dishes at the table. The Alfredo Supremo (basically chicken Alfredo with broccoli) was pretty good the sauce was lighter than I prefer (I'm more of a creamy Alfredo girl), but still enjoyable. The pesto was okay, I've had better but their pizzas were very delicious and everyone loved the cheesy garlic bread. Now for the downside, the service. We were a big party, so I want to give some grace in case they were short-staffed or especially busy. However, it took about an hour just to get waters and be asked if we were ready to order. Our server was difficult to find, and we often had to get up and ask for things ourselves. Some of the staff seemed a bit irritated, and unfortunately it didn't feel like the most welcoming or friendly experience. Overall, the food was decent and had some real highlights. The low rating solely because of the poor service for a take out order. I completely understand that they are overwhelmed and I am trying to support local business. They are not picking up their phone. We are forced to order usinf an app that charge minimal fee. We are ok with that. It was supposed to be ready between 6-6:10 pm. I got there and the place was chaos. Not sure who to talk to. They started to serve other customers who came after me. I am still holding my patience. Then I asked the Manager or owner about my take out order. She said it's here and that they are processing it and I should have a sit to wait. So, I waited. Then, I saw another customer who came in much later then I do, she must have waited like 5 minutes and got her take out order. That is just not right. I got my order like almost 6:30 pm. I have waited nearly 30 minutes. I understand that they are overwhelmed, but jeez please get some organization in the restaurant. To add, the employee does not seem to care. So, that just made me so mad to write this review. Sorry Cannataro's, we love your food but you need to get your service up. read more

First time coming here, we ordered sampler appetizer, the Calamari was overcooked, squeezing lemon on it didn't help, fried zucchini looked like it was fused together like clumps of grease, while breaking them apart the inside looked old and gross. Mozzarella sticks were just as bad, I've never seen cheese soak up that much grease before. I ordered the linguini pescatore and we'll what can I say the seafood was overcooked and the light marinara wine sauce tasted like canned tomato sauce. My wife ordered the shrimp ravioli and she said the shrimp was overcooked and half the plate was overloaded with salt. Overall the glasses of water and bread basket they brought us before we ate were good. Just wanna say Congratulations to the cooks here. You guys have successfully proved that you CANNOT cook seafood or Italian food. The only positive thing I can say is that our waitress was sweet even though she forgot to bring my drink untill the food came out and also she discounted 50% off the appetizer, we ate less than half of it. We recently discovered Cannataros and it has quickly become one of our favorites! The atmosphere is cozy and relaxing. Our favorite waitress (Julie) is the best!!! We almost never go out for Italian (because I can make it at home) and you wouldn't catch me dead in an Olive Garden, but this place is the exception. The food is better than homemade. My favs on the menu are the baked eggplant parm (I recommend ordering the sauce on the side) This is absolutely the best I've ever had! I am also addicted to their meat sauce. I like it best on the angel hair pasta with a couple of (outstanding) meatballs. Hubby always gets the sampler platter (lasagna, chicken parm and linguine alfredo). All 3 selections are delish and it always fills him up (not easy to do!). Pizzas here are awesome too. The prices are very reasonable and with internet discounts its downright awesome. We have to drive 30 minutes to get there but it's well worth the drive. Definately a hit! read more

My wife and I ordered their alfredo for our wedding reception. We were nervous. If one thing hinges on how well any reception goes, it's the food. When the time came, we tore away the tops, still warm to the touch, and stared down at what we hoped would be the alfredo to end all alfredo. At first blush, it looked like any pasta. My wife and I, however, have loved Italian food, and specifically fettuccine alfredo, all our lives. We've had it just about everywhere we go, so you can imagine our delight once we took that first bite, to discover the quality within. The sauce was creamy, with flavor that lingered at the roof of our mouths. The noodles were the perfect texture. It felt like we were discovering our love for the dish all over again. We highly recommend Cannataro's to anyone in the Southern California area. They made our wedding special, and we appreciate that more than a review can say. read more

If you're looking for authentic Italian food, this is the place! From the moment we walked in, Cassandra welcomed us and it felt like we were having dinner at a family member's house. The oldies music playing in the background created such a warm, cozy atmosphere that instantly made us feel at home. The homemade meatballs and sausage were absolutely incredible, full of flavor and cooked to perfection. The fresh grilled vegetables were the perfect side, and the Italian wedding soup completely exceeded my expectations. The broth was rich, fresh, and so flavorful that I could have eaten a whole bowl by itself. We originally came because this restaurant went viral on TikTok, and now I completely understand why. Every bite tasted homemade, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the whole experience felt like sharing a meal with family. We'll definitely be back for more. Highly recommend! read more

I came into the restaurant for a pick up order and my wife accompanied me. My name is Leonard, but it's pronounced Leo-nard, not the standard way people regularly pronounce it. So we entered the restaurant the was greeted by this old lady named Julie, I believe she could be the manager or the owner even. My wife stated the order was for 'Leo-nard' and Julie blatantly replied, 'Oh, we pronounce it Leonard here.' My wife said, 'Yes I know that, but his name is pronounced Leo-nard.' She replied, 'Yeah, but we still pronounce it Leonard...here.' The nerve of this lady! I recently ordered from Cannataro's Italian Restaurant through DoorDash, and while I had high hopes based on the glowing reviews, my experience was a bit mixed. I was particularly excited to try the lasagna, but unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations. It lacked the rich flavor I was anticipating, and I found it somewhat disappointing. On a brighter note, I also ordered the salmon piccata, which was quite good! The fish was cooked well, but I felt there was a bit too much seasoning for my taste, which overshadowed the natural flavors of the salmon. Overall, while I enjoyed the salmon, the lasagna didn't meet my expectations. I might give Cannataro's another try in the future, as I'm curious about their other dishes! read more

We had dinner there Saturday night and while the food was fine I feel I have to comment on the horrible wait staff. The waitress who helped us was the exception. If you must go make certain you get the brunette with the LONG pony tail below her waist. I tried to ask another waitress to help us and she acted like I was dirt and she couldn't be bothered. Seriously, our waitress was the only human being on the premises. It was not just the universal nasty attitude although certainly that was pervasive from the dark haired young man at the front who refused to acknowledge me to the entire staff.... but they were actually unkind. You will be treated better at McDonld's for a lot less money. read more

Let's start out talking about first impressions, walked through the door and stood there waiting for a greeting or something watching waitresses walk around, but no one saying anything. Next the table service was great and our waitress was prompt and friendly. Next, we ordered an Antipasto salad which was great. For the main course a Cannataro's Special pizza; Pepperoni, Italian sausage, meatballs, fresh mushrooms, onions, bell pepper & garlic, this was just okay, the toppings were good and the crust was very flavorful, but it just lacked that I have a craving for a Cannataro's pizza. We'll be back to try other dishes and then decide if it's a place we'll want to come back to. read more

All that i can really tell you about this resturuant is that you are at home!!!! When you are there you are part of the family. Our family eats here about 3 times a week and I have never had a bad expeience . I was reading the review about the credit card incedent what about the responsibilty of the credit card holder ???I If I didn't know where my crdit card was lost first thing i would have done was cancel it to to be safe yah maybe the server might have saved it for you but for how long is it their responsibity ????I know I would never hold anybody responsible for my owre responsibilty. Suzie was the best waitress we've ever had at Canatarro's, minus the family who runs it. From entering the premises, we were greeted with a smile and promptly told if we would have a seat or need to wait. Suzie immediately came and asked for our drink order followed by a basket of their scrumptious bread! Although we've been here several times, this by far has been our best visit. We are grateful to the new employee who has a business sense and adds a wealth of experience with customer service to the experience. What a DUMP!!! The quality of the food was unacceptable. Cheap and from frozen packages. I asked to speak to the supervisor/owner. Guess she was too busy chatting up on personal calls. And get this... The owner had an attitude!!! Never ever again, and I will share my experience with anyone that will listen. Chef Boy R Dee canned food is more flavorful than this joint. I truly love coming back to this place, my second time visiting south California, was here on Friday and I was feeling like having authentic Italian food and Cannataros food is so welcoming and comforting, but what really keeps me returning is the service, especially from Eli, attentive, kind, and always makes sure everything is perfect without ever feeling rushed. Lol…read more I went with one of my besties for brunch and even though it was crowded, we waited maybe 10 minutes before we were seated after ordering. The servers were extremely intentive and always asking us if we needed more coffee or extra water for it to be so packed and the fact that they were so welcoming and attentive, says a lot about the restaurant. We sat outside and ate on the back patio, which was perfect to enjoy the sunshine. There were tons of beautiful plants and butterflies all around while we were enjoying our food. They also make sure to include fans at each table, so that flies won't get to your food. Our breakfast itself was amazing. No notes I will absolutely be back and I'm mad that I haven't gone back sooner to be honest.
