I have a German wall clock from the late 1800's that had not been working for years even after having it fixed at another shop. I called and spoke to Greg Degani and then texted him a picture of the clock. He said he could come out within an hour even though their shop is in West Hills and my house is in Encino. He quoted me a very fair price if he could fix the clock at my house. If not, he said he would give me a quote if he had to take it to his shop, and said that if I didn't want to do so, he would not charge for the house visit. He came out as promised and fixed the clock very quickly. He was very knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. He knew exactly where the clock was produced and gave me a bunch of other facts about the clock. I also had a couple of other antique clocks in the house. One needed a pendulum and he told me a website where I could find one. Then he said I could call him in the morning and he would look it up and give me the parts number. I thought the other clock also needed a pendulum, and I have talked to a number of other clock repair places over the years and they had no idea how to fix it. Greg said that it did not need a pendulum, that it was a pocket watch movement that didn't use a pendulum. He also gave me the name of another expert that might be able to help me to identify the age of the clock and where it came from. All in all, working with Greg was a great experience and I would highly recommend him to anyone needing repairs. I'm the proud owner of a beautiful, 100-year old mantel clock inherited from my Grandfather. I had it completely cleaned and calibrated ny Greg Degani at Canoga Park Clock Repair. So far It's keeping 'perfect' time with it's full 'Big Ben" chimes sounding cleaner than I remember every 15 minutes. Greg aligned all the hammers and chimes and calibrated the entire musical portion of the movement, as well as optimizing the time-keeping mechanicals. This clock hasn't run this well in over 20 years! Although the beautiful case and glass sides show signs of their age, Repairs and work at CPCR is not cheap. But we are talking about complex machines who's very old technology is understood by only a handful of people. Greg's operation is not too visually impressive. Super nice excellent professional communication, called to let me know he was a little behind spent time (no pun intended) to go over the entire clock things that others wouldn't even take a min to look at. As I figured it ended up a simple fix and boom it's up and running perfectly again. I expected it was something simple. When the painters decided to move the clock without properly stabilizing the movement they bent and broke parts. Rendering the clock dead However I called two other so called clock repair guys they just wanted to change out the entire movement for a ridiculous estimate of over $3,000.00 without even looking at it to see what the issue was one didn't even come over he said over the phone I had to replace the mechanism. Greg from Canoga Clock showed up super casual flip flops and a T shirt tool box in hand spent about 45 min just looking at it before he opened his toolbox within minutes he had it going just like before. Greg came to my house and repaired my 40 year old grandfather clock. After he removed the faceplate, it was easy to see the very worn pivots in the mechanism. Because of its age, and the fact that it hadn't been lubricated but once in its life, I opted for his replacing the old movement with a new one, which he installed and adjusted. About 30 minutes later, I had a new clock ready for another 40 years. This time, I will call Greg out for lubrication and adjustment every 5 years or so. It cost me more than buying the movement on the internet and installing it myself, but I was paying Greg for his time, specialized tools, and expertise. In clearing out my mother's home after her passing recently, I found her beautiful 1920's Revere Techron clock which unfortunately no longer worked. We took a wall clock for repair,maintenance. We paid him a $ 100.00 for it, brought back the clock and now they work bad, work slow, and the clock itself is really loud. It did not work like this before.The wood top that covered the top of the clock and had 2 screws on the side was really bent. We had to screw in more holes and put more screws so the wood top could fit. It ruined the image of the clock. I texted him several time and explained the issue. But he ignored my message.
