I was recently staying in Apopka for my son's soccer tournament. I was looking for a place to get a coffee and some work done so I headed to Canon Coffee. I was a little confused when I walked into the house as to where to order since there were so many rooms but I wandered until I heard voices and found the kitchen. I ordered an Americano and a scone and found a quiet place to work. The coffee was perfect and I felt comfortable and was able to work for a while in a comfortable atmosphere. At first I wondered how this independent coffee shop could survive but then I began to notice more and more people coming inside. People came in to work in one of the numerous rooms, they met to catch up, etc. It was such a community atmosphere, I loved it. I dislike the big box coffee shops and this locally owned business made me realize just how important it is to support local. I enjoyed this place so much I went back the following day. read more

I love this little hidden treasure, tucked away in the heart of downtown Apopka. Canon is a house that has been converted to a code shop and meeting spot that is perfect for intimate connections. The coffee "house" has several private rooms that can close off to have good conversations or find productive workspace outside of your home. I absolutely love the creative coffee blends and variety of options. I got a coconut mocha and my friend got a chocolate orange mocha! I was torn between the chocolate covered strawberry mocha or the coconut option, but went with coconut in the end. They even have baked goods and hot food options! This is a fantastic local coffee house. The coffee, breakfast sandwich, ambiance, and (as importantly) the staff were all outstanding. I felt like I was going to my parent's house for a welcoming, delicious breakfast in their living room. The only difference is my Mom is not a top-notch specialty coffee drink barista (no offense Mom). Cool vibe with multiple seating rooms for individuals or groups. They also did a pop-up at a another local favorite, Tuffy's Bottle Shop in Sanford, and it was equally superlative. This is a GEM of a place that proving that APK is not just about Taco Bell and Dollar stores. Go there. Do it. You won't regret it. read more

After reading the reviews about prices, quality, etc., I was pretty excited to try this place. I think it's worth noting the prices aren't any better than any other coffee shop in the Orlando / Central Florida area. Coffee is middle of the road. I was disappointed considering the reviews about the coffee being "amazing". Sandwiches were bland to be honest. Again, reviews said "amazing", but it was only ok. So I've had some time to venture out to other similar businesses in my neighborhood. This is my break down: Foxtail coffee on 434 off 436, Uber expensive and baked goods not super Starbucks on 436 Propagate, downtown Apopka. Close in cost to foxtail but baked goods not great Now, canon offers a full complement of breakfast sandwiches, compare $5.50 to $6 versus $8 at foxtail and propagate Baked goods at canon are made in house fresh and are amazing, scones, muffins, cinnamon rolls And most importantly, not only are they less in cost but higher in quality. The only downside, people love them so much it can get busy and people love to hang on their laptops inside. But go early, most are sleepy heads and the early crowd is mostly in and out, not the lingerers! I love the people serving, so sincere and sweet, my g-d I may get diabetes, lol read more

I've been coming to canon since they opened a few years ago and they've only gotten better since then! The coffee and espresso is delicious, tons of fun drink combos, or you can just ask for whatever you like. (I'm a huge fan of the Globe trotter latte! That cold foam ) They offer a bunch of original sandwiches, gluten free options as well. In the cold months they carry soups, which is amazing, and a favorite lunch options of mine. They have house made cake pops that are fantastic and in lots of interesting flavors. An allergy friendly brownie that is free from a bunch of major allergies. We have gluten, egg and dairy issues and they are ok for everyone in our family. The location itself is very comfortable and decorated well (if instagramming your coffee is important to you you'll love this place! Haha) With a bunch of cozy spaces to accommodate casual coffee dates on the couches, diner style tables for quick lunches, counter spaces for coffee while you do homework. They have a meeting space available for parties and small events. The staff is amazing, it's family owned and they're usually here. but all of the employees are kind and fun and if you come in regularly they help to make it feel like home away from home. 1000 stars Just give it a shot. read more

Small Business Woman Owned Locally Owned Canon has been one of my favorites for the past few years. The baristas are always so nice and knowledgeable and the atmosphere is great. Whether you're a group of friends hanging out or someone who works from home needing a change of pace this place is for you. This is great new craft coffee spot for Apopka. Located in a former house this shop is a very neat place to grab a drink and either socialize with some friends or get some work done. They have an impressive list of drinks as well as some seasonal options. I went with a snickerdoodle cappuccino because I have a bit of a sweet tooth. I was very happy with it. The smell was just like the cookie and the taste was a nice balance of creamy cinnamon sweet and cappuccino. They also offer breakfast treats and sandwiches for all your morning needs. Inside there are a few different rooms where you can either just relax, play some board games or set up a little work space and get things done in a chill relaxed atmosphere. This place is a new gem in Apopka, we absolutely love Canon Coffee! The atmosphere is amazing and if given the time to do so I would stay for hours there chatting with a friend and drinking their delicious drinks. I've tried a few of the drinks and haven't been disappointed all. The Aebleskivers are delicious little pancake donuts that we get every time! My girls love it as well, in fact the first week they were open we went 3 or 4 days in a row. It is a great meeting place and we've made new friends there, the atmosphere is conducive to that. The owners make you feel like family when you are there and love getting to know the community of Apopka. Don't overlook this place, I promise you'll love it. Went here with my mom; the employees were really friendly and the coffee was great! Would definitely come back here again (it's right on the way to work for me!) The atmosphere is really nice and there are a lot of different rooms to hang out in, so you were still able to have some privacy. The only downside to this is that it's a bit hard to find the register if you didn't come in through the front. Bonus: lots of games in each room, from dominoes to board games! read more

Upon first impression, you can see that the building is a house, not a bad thing but wasn't expecting that! The older woman who took my first order as well as the younger girl who took my second (I got a small iced sweetened latte and finished it so fast I had to get an iced chai with the half breakfast sandwich I got the second time I went up) were very sweet! All three items I got were delicious. A nice place for Apopka and I definitely love to support small businesses, especially local coffee shops! Give it a try *this now starts the second review of it 2 years later! I've decided to keep the 5 stars just because I felt compelled to give it that when I first came, but I will say if this most recent time was my first time going it would've been 4. My favorite local coffee shop! Every drink I've tried is delicious, the quality of the coffee is some of the best I've ever had. My favorite is the cold brew, they have so many customizations that you can make to the drinks and the staff is always so friendly and accommodating. I love that they have 15 or so flavors of cold foams to choose from! The atmosphere and customer service makes me feel so cozy and at home. The perfect place to have a coffee date or meet up with someone for lunch or a business meeting. Also all the food I've tried is delicious and home made which is the best part.
