Lizzy and I have been planning our wedding and we were very happy with how it was shaping up. Until the other day when our reception venue, The Cantina Cadillac, called us and let us know that they're cancelling our reception. We chose to do it here because this is our favorite bar. This is a bar we have spent a lot of time at and have great memories with friends here. It's a special place to us, it means something to us. So we were shocked and extremely disheartened by it. The general manager expressed how sorry he was and that it came from the managing partners. Initially he said that it was about the money. This is not a busy place until later in the evening. They would have 150 customers in their bar from 4-9 pm for five hours of drinking on our tab- I promise we would have blown out any kind of revenue that the public would have brought in. Then it turned into being the optics of not being open to the public during that time. I can understand this partially. They told us that they had to cancel ours and one other. So they are not able to stand behind their word and close for five hours on two Saturdays and then never have to do it again? Is there not a kind of code you carry your business to? We offered to have a minimum spend of the bar as well as an included gratuity to take care of the staff. We offered to shorten the time that we would rent the bar. We were trying to make this work for both of us. We have attempted to contact the managing partner and they have not returned our call. So now Lizzy and I are scrambling to find a venue for our reception in October- the busiest wedding month of the year here in Texas. Lizzy called 25 venues this weekend and not a single one has availability. So here we are trying to figure it out. We did not have a signed contract or deposit, rather a verbal agreement. Lizzy talked with the venue and said they were so busy at the time because of the stock show and rodeo and we could get all the contracts signed and details figured out once the stock show was over, but that the date was ours and reserved. We trusted them and that turned out to be a bad choice. We love Cadillacs, we love the ambience, we love the history. But if you are in the Stockyards and looking for a beer, give your business to another establishment. Support businesses that support the folks that keep their lights on. Visited Fort Worth for a buddies bachelorette party, expecting a good time. This was definitely not the place. The thirsty armadillo is right next to it being a better bar. Coming from out of town to this place, I did not see a no smoking sign anywhere in the bar. I made the mistake of smoking in the bar and was escorted by security for smoking inside. I apologized as I did not know and explained I did not see a sign that said smoking was not allowed. The security staff member asked for my ID and I respectfully showed him. He then claimed that was not my ID and called a police officer. The police officer then came and explained how if this was not my ID he would call for backup and I would go to jail. I respectfully said, you can go ahead but im sorry that you will be wasting your time as that is my ID. The cop then verified it was indeed my ID and made fun of my height as my height in the ID claimed I was 5'8" and he said I was not that tall. This place needs to be better in stating policies before they kick you out. I did not even get patted down before entering the bar. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Save yourself some time and go have fun down the street. read more

I went here with my friends visiting them from out of town. We got in and got drinks and while dancing on the Dance floor we had a bartender come up and ask for our IDS AGAIN?.... Like if you don't trust your bouncers just say that! We were the only ones dancing on the dance floor and she came up to us so randomly. Not only was she rude but if we are the only ones you're coming up to in the bar to ask for IDs, don't lie and say it's protocol. I wouldn't go here, everyone is boring and the workers are rude. This place fits the bill for "I want to dress like a cowboy, go to a crowded club, and listen to pop music." Music is pop and oldies, with an hourly country song thrown in for variety. Be ready to yell over the music in order to have a conversation, and to be shoulder to shoulder with everyone else in the bar. There is a dance floor, a 10x10 square patch of what must be old linoleum, occupied by people mostly standing still. But the beer is $3, so I guess it's got that going for it. read more

OMG. This place is what happens when the Jersey Shore meets FTW. I have never seen so many cowboys fist pumping at one time. We went during the stock show and rodeo, so I don't know if the place is always this full, but the crowds were intense. The line at the bar was a bit ridiculous at some points, but the bartenders were always very nice. Drinks are also super cheap. Music is all over the place, but did prove for some good dancing towards the end of the night. I wouldn't make this your first destination, but it would be a great place to end the night after you've wandered through the Stockyards. read more

I'm rarely one to complain but I will never go there again...I have never been treated so badly or dismissed by an owner/manager...bartender refused to give me my card back until I paid the tab that had other people's drinks on it when I only got one drink...I asked for an itemized receipt and got a hand written in sharpie receipt...went to the owner and he would do nothing to correct the situation...He literally ahoved the receip back at me and told me to leave...I hope everyone understands you will not know what your tab will end up to be and will be force to pay whatever the bartender chargers you just to get your card back!!!!! So I went here with a couple of my girlfriends who were in from out of state. They wanted to go dancing and Billy Bob's wasn't an option so we decided to try this place out. Every town has a different "going out" timeline so we got here kind of early. It was interesting because we definitely watched the bar transition from an older crowd to a younger crowd as the night went on. Later in the evening they started to mix in some more pop music. I enjoyed the mix of music and it showed that the DJ was paying attention to the younger crowd. My friends and I spent our whole night here we were having so much fun. I can't comment too much on drink cost as I think my friends and I only bought one or two rounds. From what I recall they were very affordable given that this is in the middle of the stockyards (read: tourist central). Biggest downfall of this place is the dance floor. It's TINY. They definitely have a spot to dance, but I wouldn't call it much more than a spot. Even with only a dozen people on the floor, you'll be bumping in to people. Ive noticed all of those reviews are from years ago. The Cadillac I know now is rockin. They have two pool tables. A dance floor in the middle of the bar on the Lower level and the bar/ gathering area on the upper level. The bartenders are beautiful and super kind. Let me break it down here: Friday nights: they open pretty early but it doesn't really get busy until 10:30 or so, but most bars in the stockyards are that way anyways. They do charge a one time cover of $3 at the door, but it's totally worth a few $$. Their drink specials are $2 wells and $2 domestic beers. Doesn't get better than that. And you have to get their special drink called the Wild Ass Indian. It comes in a big cup and it is GOOOOOD. Saturday nights: they open in the evening and I've seen it get a pretty good crowd at 7:30. If you're going out to be in a busy bar on a Saturday night. This is is. It can get full. But all the same, they have no cover on Saturday night. Their drink special ends at 9:30 but after that the wells and domestics only go up to 3.25. The regular pricing of the other drinks they have is also a good deal. The crowd is a variety of 21-30-50. And they all seem to mix in pretty well together. We can't forget the dj. They have a different dj Friday than they do Saturday. So you don't get the same replayed stuff if you come two nights in a row. They play the stuff that makes you happy. A lot of country, some line dancing music and some classic sing alongs. If you're looking for somewhere to hangout and have a good time in the stockyards, Cadillac is the place to go. read more

I have really enjoyed myself at this bar in the past; however, on Saturday, my birthday, I was "greeted" by the RUDEST bouncer I've ever met! It was a few friends and I and we simply stated, "It's my/her birthday" in excitement as we arrived for a good time and he checked our IDs, only to be responded to with "I don't care, I don't care," complete with negative facial expressons and body language. He's NOT the guy you need at the front door, and he could definitely use a booster course on customer service. This behavior was absoultey unnecessary and unacceptable for an adult. read more
