Really fun little spot on the island. Fiancé loved his taco salad. Chips were served warm. The salsa was fresh, and the margarita was great. Server was very nice. We'll be back :)

The atmosphere is casual. There dollar bills stuck to all of the walls. Very charming. The chips were fresh and the pico de gallo was fresh and full of flavor. We also had the enchiladas and fresh guacamole. We tried the queso dip and all were delicious and authentic. The best Mexican food we have had in years! The service was great too!

Best Mexican food I have ever had by far! Such a nice, clean, restaurant! The dollar bills all over the wall was a great touch to the restaurant. My waiter was fabulous and a very nice guy with a great pace! Food game very quick! I definitely recommend visiting cantina Captiva if you are in captiva!

Was so surprised by how amazing everything was! Their nachos look super simple but they were delicious - the meat was amazing. But honestly, my favorite thing about this place were the margaritas, probably my new favorite margaritas ever! Service was super attentive. There is also parking! 10/10

For starters we ordered their Queso and guacamole dip. The homemade chips were fresh and warm. I chose "The Original" Burrito for my entree. This consists of a 13 inch flour tortilla filled with rice, beans, cheese, and for my choice of meat - I went with steak ($16.00). I also ordered it "wet" (covered in Queso Blanco and enchilada sauce). I ordered a Margarita, on the rocks, salt on the rim (TYVM), for my drink. Barely finished with the Queso and dip, entrees arrived. My burrito was huge and they did not spare on the fillings. It was literally stuffed with steak, beans, and rice. The blanco cheese and enchilada sauce made for the perfect covering. It was delicious!! My Margarita was very good with just the right amount of ice and salt (ok, you can never have too much salt, ha!). Service was friendly, courteous, and efficient. He checked back a couple of times to make sure everything was fine. Interestingly, this place has dollar bills stapled to the walls, doors, ceilings, beams, just about everywhere. So make sure you sign your dollar bill and staple it to their wall so as to let everyone know you were here. And speaking of "here", being how it's located at the end of Captivate Island, enjoy your ride to and from . It's a very scenic ride along some beautiful beaches and picturesque Gulf waters. This is an easy 5 Stars and I suggest you give them a try, and enjoy!!

Cute little restaurant and very friendly staff. Food comes out really quick (almost too quick lol). The salsa was not my cup of tea. Basically large slices of tomatoes and some onion with some sort of liquid underneath. Seemed a lot like chunky pico. Guacamole was alright. Chips were good. The pork enchiladas were fine. You could tell the enchilada sauce came out of a can, but the pork itself was very good and not fatty. So it was decent Mexican food for Florida.

Great spot for a quick lunch while enjoying the island of Captiva. They have a food truck set up outside the restaurant. We had the ground beef and chicken tacos. They were very good. They have many options on the menu and the outdoor set up runs smoothly. Price point is fair. Very casual and laid back spot to grab a quick bite. A definite spot we will eat at again.

Tonight was our first Cantina Captiva experience. We ordered queso ($10) as an appetizer, and entrees were chicken & beef fajitas ($22), 3 cheese enchiladas ($13), and 1 beef taco with rice and beans ($7) and 1 tamale ($4). The Queso was typical white queso and was tasty. The chicken and beef fajitas were tasty and served with grilled onions and reg and green bell pepper. The 3 cheese enchiladas had good flavor but they make them "gringo" style using flour tortillas which was not what I was expecting and it stopped me from loving the entree. Each entree was served with yellow rice and black beans and they were tasty. They bring chips and pico de gallo to the table. The pico is not petite cut and the flavor was ok. The dining room is pretty small and warm, even though we were seated by the air conditioner. They also offer outside seating at picnic tables with umbrellas. The food overall was tasty and worth returning if we are interested in having Mexican food. I will either request that they make my enchiladas with corn tortillas as they are supposed to be prepared with or I will choose something else from the menu.

Island eats are meant to be enjoyed on island time - without a rush, in good company, and in the sun. I've been coming to RC Otters since I was a little kid and rented the house down Andy Rosse lane by Mucky Duck. It used to be one of our treats to eat there for breakfast instead of at our house during our summer vacations. This past visit - we missed the breakfast cut off and had lunch there. I opted for the grouper sandwich. Something about a fish sandwich on an island is just luxury to me. They offer it grilled, blackened, bronzed, or fried. Bronzed sounded intriguing to me which is a mix of savory with a hint of sweet. Wow. It was awesome. I also ordered a bloody mary which was delicious. My sister in law got the ribs and loved them. Everyone else got the fish sandwich. Service is so friendly, and they usually have live music going on. A great, affordable place to enjoy a meal. With its multi-colorful exterior it makes you feel in vacation mode just looking at it. They have an equal amount of indoor an outdoor seating, and we opted for outdoor when we came for breakfast. RC Otters is open the earliest of the few restaurants on Captiva, aside from Starbucks if you count that. All of the standard breakfast offerings were on the menu, plus a special of theirs is a breakfast sandwich that's an omelette wedged between two pieces of french toast. Kind of fun. The food was good, nothing stellar but it was decent. It was altogether an enjoyable morning with the colorful setting. They are open all day for other meals so can't speak to how the lunch or dinner food is, but we enjoyed the breakfast.

The menu is the same as the restaurant at Founders Square, with salads, bowls, a good variety of handhelds, kids options and lots of sides. They even have rotisserie chicken, prime rib and miso salmon, for when you want a little extra. The Parque Del Lago taco salad and California panini looked interesting, but hubs went with the grilled Mahi sandwich and I decided on the classic burger. Every seat in the restaurant was filled, which tells you everything you need to know. Make a reservation because this place is incredibly popular. The service was outstanding from start to finish. Our server was warm, attentive, and somehow managed to provide exceptional service despite the restaurant being completely packed. The entire staff made our last night on the island feel special. We forgot to take photos of the appetizers, but trust me, don't skip them. The fried green tomatoes were the unanimous favorite at our table and an absolute must-order. Crispy, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. We also ordered the conch fritters, which our family always seeks out whenever we're in Florida, and these were honestly some of the best we've ever had. The crab cakes were delicious as well, but the fried green tomatoes and conch fritters definitely stole the show. For my entrée, I ordered the Quinoa Steak Salad, and I was shocked by the size. The portion is enormous and could easily be shared by two people, or even serve as a family-style salad for three or four. The steak was perfectly cooked, and the combination of quinoa, avocado, fresh vegetables, and cheese made it both hearty and refreshing. Several people at our table ordered the evening special, the blackened snapper over mushroom risotto, and it was phenomenal. The snapper was perfectly cooked, flaky, and full of flavor, while the creamy mushroom risotto complemented it beautifully. It was easily one of the standout dishes of the evening. The honey glazed salmon was another favorite at our table. The braised short ribs were rich, tender, and beautifully presented. One person in our group ordered the stuffed lobster and thoroughly enjoyed it, mentioning both the flavor and the generous portion size. The fish tacos were good, but with so many exceptional dishes on the table, they simply weren't the standout. Between the exceptional food, generous portions, outstanding service, and lively atmosphere, this was the perfect way to end our week on Sanibel Island. It's easy to see why every table was full. If you're visiting Sanibel, make reservations in advance. This restaurant is popular for a reason, and after dining here, we completely understand why. Five stars. We can't wait to come back.
