We discovered Amigos a couple years ago, when seating was very limited, but they recently expanded and the decor is more inviting and authentic. We've tried a lot of things on this menu and have never been disappointed. Our food has always been fresh and plentiful, served with a smile. Two things I can ecstatically recommend: their house guacamole and their margaritas. Their hearty and bold guacamole is made fresh to order right at your table and it's become our favorite guacamole. We love their mango margaritas. We have found chunks of mango in ours, and make certain to always get the rims coated with tajin because they use tamarind to get the spice to stick to the rim--so tasty! This is a really enjoyable restaurant we always look forward to visiting!

This is some very good Mexican food. The place is small, but the flavors are large. My daughter and…read moreI split some appetizers. The margaritas were large and delicious. The chicken tacito appetizer was just okay, but they will make fresh made guac at your table while you watch. That quac was superb. We made it disappear quickly with nachos. The barria tacos were excellent and the sauce they make for them is delectable. The cole slaw was different and delicious. Wasn't expecting that. The torta was superb. Great food, great service. We'll be back!

The ambiance was a little bit loud as we were seated next to a larger family who had alot of kids but we both didnt mind much and just tuned them out. We were in a booth rifgt next to an isle and their table was maybe 3 ft away. My only suggestion is if they had larger portions or refilled our chip basket. The waited came took our order and then maybe checked on us once or twice total? Could have been more personable but thats ok. Overall good experience.

It was quite busy, but we were seated in five to ten minutes and presented with a heaping bowl of chips and salsa. The margaritas are gigantic, yet pretty weak. I would NOT recommend getting the large, as they start to get way too sweet and they also start to melt. And unless you are super-human and love sugar, you aren't finishing it before you get out of there. To be fair, Oakwood Square is a "DORA" district, so they offer to put your drink in a to-go cup and send you on your way. Food is standard Mexican fare. Good, but to be honest, everything tastes kind of the same, with minor variations. I still am not sure of the difference between the enchilada, chimichanga, soft taco, burrito, etc. Dump some rice & refried beans on the place, mix it all together and it is basically the same thing. Friendly and speedy service is the highlight of this joint. I don't always love Mexican food, so I likely won't return again anytime soon, but it was a solid supper.
