This has turned into one of our favorite Mexican restaurants. Our food has always been fresh and plentiful, served with a smile. Two things I can ecstatically recommend: their house guacamole and their margaritas. Their hearty and bold guacamole is made fresh to order right at your table and it's become our favorite guacamole. We love their mango margaritas. We have found chunks of mango in ours, and make certain to always get the rims coated with tajin because they use tamarind to get the spice to stick to the rim--so tasty! This is easily a top two Mexican restaurant in the Akron/stow/canton/fairlawn area. The chorizo is very good, mouthwatering. Queso uses real cheese full of flavor. The most unexpected thing however was how much seasoning and flavor they used on their chicken and other meats. Absolute game changer. The chicken tacito appetizer was just okay, but they will make fresh made guac at your table while you watch. That quac was superb. We made it disappear quickly with nachos. They also serve the chips with coleslaw which was good. We each had a margarita. They were very good and not too weak or strong. I ordered the birria quesadilla which was excellent. This is a truly authentic Mexican restaurant with many dishes you don't see elsewhere and the flavors were fantastic. Started with the homemade guacamole made just off of our table. Large portion and packed with fresh avocado and tomato's. I had the Macho Nacho and my daughter enjoyed the Macho burrito. Her boyfriend who is from Mexico saw they had Cochinita Pibil street tacos and said he hasn't had this since living in Mexico and it reminded him of being home. I came here with a group and we were all very pleased. The tableside guacamole was amazing. It was neat to see them make it, and it really proved just how fresh the ingredients were. It was amazing and complimented the salsas as well. For the meal I got an al pastor bowl and a horchata. The bowl was also made with fresh ingredients, was super filling, and so good. I even had enough for a take home box so it is a good sized portion. Additionally, the horchata was refreshing and delicious. Everyone in my party was pleased with what they had. My husband and I went for the first time last night and had a great experience . The bartender Christina was friendly and made great margaritas. Chips & salsa werereally good and they also came with a small dish of creamy coleslaw . We both loved our meals too - I had the Macha ground beef burrito and my husband the ground beef Machete - food came out quickly , all ingredients tasted fresh and well seasoned. Arguably the best Mexican I've had in Ohio. The Fresca margaritas are made incredibly well- perfect balance of sweet but not overpowering and so smooth. Love the menudo. I was going there regularly but I was little disappointed last visit. I ordered menudo and it had very little soup in it. It was mostly meat. I really like this place. Service was a bit slow. Margarita was strong. Or I'm just a light weight bc at the hallway mark I was tipsy, maybe both. Incredible Mexican food! I've had Mexican food all over the world and this is one of the best, and authentic as can be. The tortillas were fresh made, the guacamole was made right there in front of us, and the horchata wasn't some prepackaged mix some restaurants serve it was homemade and so delicious. The service was quick and the server friendly and kind. She was attentive and we never were left looking for help. Really phenomenal place - super cute, quaint space in a small shopping center off of OH 8 near Stow. This is a "real food" Mexican restaurant. The staff are super friendly, from all over Mexico. And the food is home-made. We could not get a table but were seated at the bar and had fun chatting with the wait staff and watching various dishes come out of the (very tiny, cute) kitchen. Their margaritas have fresh squeezed citrus, and they comped us a fruit-infused tequila shot as a thank you. I had a Mexican specialty plate, a "Huarache," which was a handmade, 8-inch wide, flat corn tortilla layered with refried beans with carnitas (you can choose your meat). The carnitas was perfect, freshly made, super tender, not dry and hard like you find in some places. Tortilla was topped with lettuce, tomatoes, queso cotija and sour cream. The homemade corn tortilla was *so good* as was the tomato sauce they serve on the side (slight heat, really nice). It was a cold night and this - and again I have to emphasize "homemade" - meal hit the spot. We are certain to be back soon! read more

Small place in Stow close to Route 8. The place was clean and seating was booths. The service was attentive and she patiently answered my questions. The food was very good and came out piping hot. I had street tacos and a friend had shrimp fajitas. I asked her to choose fit me, so I hit three different tacos and a side of onions. My favorite was the carnitas taco but all tasted great. My friend enjoyed the shrimp (good sized and perfect Lu cooked). Drink options are limited as of now. They had no alcohol beverages for sale. I'm not sure if this issue is temporary or permanent. This is a great find. It was walking distance from my hotel and I thought it looked good. It's a relatively small restaurant and doesn't have a bar/serve alcohol. The service was very friendly and quick. I had the Birria bowl and it was excellent. The beef is stewed in peppers and very flavorful. The bowl is big and it had lots of fresh ingredients. Very filling. They serve Cole slaw and salsa with their chips which was different. I will say it was the best Cole slaw I've ever eaten. We stopped in on our way to a concert at Blossom. It's a small place with about 8 tables and more seating at the bar. The staff is super friendly and fast. I ordered the birria quesadilla and my wife ordered the chicken fajita quesadilla. The portions were generous, even more so when one considers the chips and salsa (and coleslaw) that they bring when you are first seated. Our meals were excellent and I wish I could have finished it before we left for the show. I enjoyed the margarita, which was a house recipe (not a mix, though they do offer those) and the paloma was very good as well! I would definitely eat here again! read more

This is truly family Mexican food, and it's not overweighted with grease. The sauces are made in house, and they're a touch above. We had chili rellenos, authentically battered and fried, stuffed with tons of cheese and a nice sauce. My wife ordered shrimp fajitas. Super good. As you all know, I travel for work and I live to travel but that doesn't mean that I live to work! One of the best things about traveling for work is getting the chance to try new places for meals. I prefer ones that are within walking distance of whichever Hotel I'm staying at, as I don't like driving the corporate vehicle...especially at night. Plus, the walk is good for me. So tonight, I walked down to Amigos Restaurant, even though it is so very bitterly cold outside. I was glad that I made the truck, as it was more than more than worth it! Not a large place and I had it much to my self, as I had arrived a bit early for the dinner crowd. Fresh chips and salsa, as well as something unusual to me anyway: coleslaw, but Mexican style with cilantro. I'll try this at home, it was that good. I ordered their fajita quesadilla with chicken, grilled, which is just how I like it. For drinks, they have Coke products and also Jarritos and Aqua Fresca, so I had the horchata Agua Fresca and man, but it was perfectly paired with the entree! The chicken was grilled and marinated, and so smooth. Rice, refried beans and lettuce with sour cream and pico de gallo topped off the dinner plate. They have tableside guacamole service but I was already taking some of my fine dinner back to my room...maybe next time I find myself in Stow, Ohio I'll see you there! read more

Amigos is a gem in Stow. Authentic Mexican food paired with great hospitality. The beef birria quesadillas and pollo loco are fire. The server is super friendly and will explain the menu if you're unsure of what to order. Restaurant ambiance is welcoming, soft Mexican music playing in the background paired with wonderfully colorful walls. We came here twice in a week on a business trip. My husband & I came here the other day & our food was amazing. I got the birria quesdilla & guacamole. My husband got 2 chicken tacos & a steak taco & queso. Everything was outstanding - the birria was definitely the star of the show. I order birria every time it's on a menu because it's always going to be baseline good at most life changing.
