If you are looking for a great atmosphere this is the place you need to go to! The staff was very friendly and attentive, the manager even came over to check on how our food tasted and if we were happy with everything. The food was amazing! The food tasted amazing! We ordered the tacos al carbon, I usually do not like beef fajitas but they were literally the best I have had! We have been to a few other Cantina locations?, but this one by far is our favorite. I was a big fan of the Cantina Laredo in Lakewood before it closed, but this was my first time at the Addison branch. I wasn't impressed and neither were any of the four people who accompanied me. The food was so-so, nothing to write home about. The flan was clumpy, like curds. I came here with my family on 4th of July weekend for Kaboom Town and wanted to get dinner before the fireworks show. The hostess was very accommodating, as they do not take call ahead's or reservations. We were seated on the patio right in front of the restaurant with a great view of the air show and the fireworks (a tree was slightly blocking the view, so we cashed out and moved closer). Our waitress was also a sweetheart and made sure we were being paid attention to as we were waiting for our entire party to show up. We ordered the queso con carne and mixed chicken and beef fajitas. Both dishes were delightful and enough for two people. We didn't order any drinks this go around, but we do plan on returning to try out the table side guacamole and specialty cocktails. I've been coming here for nearly a decade and this is still my favorite Cantina location in the DFW area. Rambo is awesome, as were any of the past managers I knew over the years I've been coming here! Always upbeat, always pleasant, always welcoming!!! This is a great quiet little getaway for a quick bite...especially during ladies night or their happy hour/reverse happy hour. I love their chips & salsa, queso laredo, and steak quesadillas...yum! Their rice is also quite delicious! I've come here with larger groups for my birthday in the past and in a small group of 1-2 and each time I'm been made to feel just as welcome as the visit prior. Rambo has always remembered me and always greets me with a big smile and hug...and I really appreciate that. It really makes you feel special knowing someone takes that much care in their customers and clientele. It makes you feel like you're going to a family get together...which is not something you experience everywhere in a place as big as Dallas. We've been here for special events, such as Cinco de Mayo, and this place never disappoints. The house margaritas are delicious and definitely carry a little bit of a kick...so sip and enjoy!!! This is my family's favorite restaurant! We went today for lunch and ordered the Acapulco plate. It was delicious! The chicken enchilada had the poblano sauce. It was perfect! The flour tortillas remind me of my childhood. We even had the dessert, the mango tres leches cake! It was to die for! The dessert portion was enough to share among the three of us. Our server was Yeri and she was very attentive and friendly. The restaurant manager, Ram came to our table to see if we were enjoying our lunch. He did this for every table! Why didn't I check Yelp! Gmaps reviews much higher than Yelp. I wouldn't have went. Gourmet Mexican, on the front door, it is not. Typical no inspiration food in a nicer atmosphere for top dollar. I had the Carne Asada which came with cilantro rice and black beans. Way Over salted meat, with no other flavor than salt, topped with more salty cilantro lime sauce that also had no flavor. Black beans were just black beans, and the cilantro rice also had very little flavor. The steak had a few strings of onions on it to break up the flavors a bit but for the most part the dish was not garnished with anything to help break up the richness of the meat/ beans/ rice. I figure half my bill went towards the atmosphere. Waitress was EXCELLENT. Very nice and attentive. Where's the taco truck? I initially gave them 3 stars but reduced it a star because they put "Gourmet" on the front door and didn't come close to delivering. read more

I was excited to try Cantina Laredo for the first time, and I loved it. They had a speedy service and a friendly staff. I ordered the shrimp & chorizo empanadas, and they were delicious. I was also impressed by the presentation. They make the guacamole in front of you, so fresh and yummy. If I could give my experience last night a negative star(s) I would. The new menu is difficult to interrupt and once you do the food is not impressive. The chicken enchaldas were slapped on a a plate (zero points for presentation) and very bland, truly tasteless. The service was horrible. The waitress would not speak up, didn't know the menu and once the orders were taken she vanished. Water was not refilled, drinks were not checked on, questions were not answered. I'm giving 3 stars because the food and service were excellent. I'm only giving 3 because the sound level was painful. My friend and I were across the table from each other and had to shout to be heard, Even the servers had to shout to ask about our order. I don't know why restaurants feel that dining with sound at a jet engine level is acceptable, but I prefer an atmosphere where I can carry on a conversation. i have been going here for decades and the food only gets better. this is where i take all my European visitors for a taste of Texas Mexican food. the guacamole made at the table can not be beat. all the food is good but some of the brunch items or a stand out. the crab cakes Benedict and the divorced eggs are something you should try. back in the day this location sponsored the Mexico bobsled team and we could watch them practice on sleds with tires. read more

About 4 months ago, Catina Laredo changed their menu. It was horrible. Guess what? They went back to the old menu. I happened to stop in one evening as this restuarant was my usual Friday evening routine for dinner. See my recommendation on prior review.If the menu was the same, I was planning to leave. The wait staff greeted me on the patio and said the menu had changed back. They knew I had stopped coming with the menu change. Others must have too. Took a large group of colleagues to dinner here recently and was disappointed to say the least. Food was OK but expensive for serving size and quality. Value aside, the overwhelming feedback I received from my group was that the wait staff employed unsavory tactics to "jack-up" our tab. It started with ignoring our request for appetizers, ordered 5 orders of guacamole and "one" order of conqueso dip. The server obviously thought we were not paying attention when they served 5 orders of each and charged accordingly. Every order was accompanied with an annoying attempt to "up sell" to a higher price. Every margarita was up sold by saying "everyone at the table is upgrading to a top shelf liquor so should you! " and every dish was pushed to include shrimp. The result was a larger than expected tab. Over aggressively pushing additional drinks to the point of annoying! Eaten here before but this recent behavior will not be tolerated, too many great restaurants in the Addison area to put up with this unacceptable practice. My wife and I ate at the Cantina Laredo in Addison, TX last night. Let me just say this was some of the best TexMex we've ever had. We arrived at around 6:30, we were seated promptly, and greeted by a very friendly server named Memo. He brought with him two cups of salsa, one was roasted and the other was not. Both in my honest opinion were very good. We ordered the table side guacamole and it was very fresh and appetizing. My wife ordered the Tampico, and I ordered the Chipotle Pollo Fajitas for our main courses. Both of us were more than impressed with our dishes. While we were eating the manager, Adam, came over and spoke with us. He and I had a very nice conversation regarding the Texas Rangers. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. When we were through with dinner, Adam visited again and suggested we try the Mexican Apple Pie. We're both so glad that he recommended this. It comes out on a hot skillet like the fajitas, and they pour a Mexican brandy butter over it and let it sizzle, and as if that wasn't enough it's served with cinnamon ice cream which just brings the whole dessert together. What an aroma, I saw other guest's heads turning in the restaurant wondering what we ordered (While we were eating I observed two more orders coming out of the kitchen for other tables). Overall, we were extremely pleased, we don't get out very often so this made it well worth it. We highly recommend Cantina Laredo to anyone looking for some great food! read more

I've loved this place in the past and enjoyed coming here for my birthday. This year was a drastic difference and I will not be going back. I brought a 15 top for my birthday and they couldn't care less to show us any attention even though we were going to get food and plenty of drinks. It took 20 minutes to even get the drinks that we ordered. My favorite dish was no longer on the menu and the waitress didn't even try to ask the chef to make it for me. I spoke to the manager saying that dish was the reason I brought 15 people into their restaurant for dinner. After finally confirming with the manager they would attempt to make it, the waiter still gave me an attitude saying they can't make that dish. Also, what mexican restaurant doesn't serve queso when asked?? The ceviche "meal" was about a spoonful of ceviche. Do not order it! My meal was completely different than it was in the past and they brought it out almost 10 min after every one else after our 15 top got their food. No one ever came by after our food was brought to make sure it was ok. Everyone's glasses (water and cocktail) were empty and our waitress was nowhere to be seen. Their guacamole is way overpriced and their new menu was not very good. They also couldn't even take the lid off the birthday cake when they brought it to the table. Then our waitress disappeared again when we wanted to pay and leave. To sum it all up, terrible service for a huge table that "could" have made the waitress's night, changed menu for the worse and just overall very disappointed and embarrassed I brought a large group of friends there. read more
