We went to this restaurant with a group of 7. They quickly got tables pushed together to accommodate us. The staff were awesome. They brought out chips and salsa immediately. I don't like spicy salsa and my husband prefers lots of spice. We both thought the salsa was excellent. That never happens that we both like it. Our order was taken quickly and our food came out really fast too. All our orders were correct and we all really liked our choices. I got Sour cream enchiladas. They were filled with juicy well seasoned shredded chicken. The sour cream sauce was yummy. They had black bean refried beans which I really like. Immediately our favorite Mexican food joint in the area. We've lived in Van Alstyne for over a year now and I'm sad we just now discovered Cantina Lime!! Restaurant is clean and festive. We took our toddler and they were accommodating with him. The complimentary chips and salsa are tremendous. The salsa really does it for me. Definitely the best I've had in a while! Normally not one to leave a bad review. The host told us after 20 minutes of waiting we would get a server out asap. After 30 minutes we asked the server if we could be helped. She said ya i'm not yaks server and walked away. 55 minutes later we had a server come and say oh my gosh i'm so sorry I didn't know yall were here. The table next to us told us she said the same things to them. an hour and 10 minutes later we got our marg flight. Never heard or had the server come check on us. Asked for a manger he took out order. I got 2 tacos boyfriend got 4. 2 and a hair hours later after we got there we got our tacos. The server never came back. We then had a new one who only came once. Would not recommend this place. My taco was also filled with only fat. Maybe 3 pieces of meat and 2 scoops of guacamole. Our second time here as it did not disappoint. The ambience is nicely done. What stands out is the flavors. They mesh so well. We've ordered the fajitas and typically share between my wife and me. This place was recommended by coworkers. Was meeting a friend in the area, so we decided to give it a shot. Service was great, food was delicious, and margarita was spot-on. (Don't be put off by the beans at first glance. They looked very runny. But the flavor was fantastic. I just scooped it up on chips, and it was perfect.). Don't let the location fool you. This is delicious fresh Mex! They have a huge menu with everything you could think of, yummy roasted salsa, delicious plates, and reasonable children's menu (with steak burritos on them!). New to Texas so decided to give it a try because of the positive reviews. Food was decent. Margarita was good. But at the end we noticed a cockroach between the seats. The manager came and scooped it up. As I was talking to the waitress about it again, I looked back and saw another one! They were going to pull out the booth against the wall to see if there were more. My 18 month old baby and I have food poisoning now as well. This is a cute gem conveniently located right off the highway and main road in Anna. We didn't have time to dine-in on this visit, so we placed a Togo order at the bar. The drinks were tasty, good, and fresh. Looking at previous reviews we were sure they wouldn't disappoint. The food was great!! All of the fish/ shrimp tacos were absolutely amazing!!! Went with friends for Sunday Brunch. Service for our table of 6 was a bit slow, wait staff seemed a bit unorganized. Drinks took quite a while to come out and it was just tea and soft drinks. Wait staff was friendly but not very quick. Bacon breakfast tacos seemed like the bacon was somewhere in the area, just not in the tacos. Brisket tacos where filled well. The potato mix on my plate was cold on my wifes it was warm, which one is it supposed to be? Why is paint peeling on the floor? Shouldn't that be epoxy? Just curious. The place is beautiful inside, service is good too. The food is equally good. We tried the vegetarian options from the menu and they were all really good. I loved the corn tortillas in the tacos, so fresh! Their street corn cauliflower taco is too good! Loved the spinach enchilada as well, I like the fact that the filling is not cheesy, it's just blanched spinach with black beans and the rice makes a great pair! The green tomatillo sauce is so so good! We asked extra to go with the enchilada and the chips. Their salsa picosa is the hottest, great addition to the tacos! For the dessert we tried their churros as a takeout and it was okay, I'm not a fan of the cream cheese filling in the churros. If you like it, you'd enjoy this one. Service was not 100% terrible but definitely was lacking. My husband and I came to eat here for the first and last time. There was only 3 other tables occupied at the time so not too busy. The waitress came to greet us and asked what we would like to drink I asked for a water and a Pepsi zero and my husband asked for a water. The waitress returned with only a Pepsi zero asked my husband what his drink was, which was water. We ordered two appetizers the white queso with brisket and the corn appetizer. We only received the white queso which was 1/10 it was too watered down to even enjoy with the chips it was just dripping everywhere. My husband ordered a pork belly taco which was just a carnitas taco there was nothing pork belly about it. I ordered the quesabirria plate it was a 3/10. We tried this restaurant a couple of years ago and had a mediocre experience. We were looking to have Tex Mex tonight and decided to give it another try! Unfortunately, the experience was very unpleasant. We arrived around 6pm, the restaurant was mostly dead with five tables. Service was very slow and subpar. Our toddler immediately spilled some salsa on the table and we eventually had to ask for napkins to be brought to clean it up. The table remained very dirty throughout our entire meal with no empty dishes being cleared. The food took a long time to arrive after ordering and was subpar to uneditable. I had the ribeye fajitas. The meat was super fatty, chewy and flavorless. I'd recommend eating elsewhere! read more

Drinks came out 10 minutes later and they told us they didn't have any queso. At this point she took our order. We waited at least 30 minutes for our food. The table of 4 that came after us had been served, eaten, and left before we even got our food. Our waitress didn't come check on us once while we waited and we had run out of chips and had empty drink glasses. Ordered the beef chimichanga, hubby gave 1 out of 5. Had rice and beans in it, like a burrito. Other places is all meat. Had no queso to put on it. Daughter ordered garlic shrimp and veggies. Shrimp was way overcooked with no garlic sauce and veggies were undercooked and had no seasoning. Not even salt and pepper. She only ate 1 piece of shrimp and I tried the other. Left the rest and all the veggies on the plate. Not good at all. Chicken quesadillas only had chicken/cheese in the middle leaving empty tortillas in the ends. Fajitas had 3 pieces of beef, 3 overcooked shrimp and 3 way overcooked chicken. My meat was burnt on one side. We will not be back and I'm not sure why this place has such high reviews. It was good enough for four stars. The food was tasty, service was good and friendly. Got the margarita sampler and results were as followed....first house margarita, Diablo, cucumber then pineapple. If I ordered it again I'd trade out the pineapple (which slightly as tasty as a rubber tire smells) for the house, but at $17 I think I'd rather just have a whole frozen house margarita. We ordered fish tacos and carne asada tacos, both were pretty good, just be prepared to get messy. Chips and hot sauce was just meh- chips were cold and hot sauce was a bit smoky flavored. Great burritos. A little constructive criticism would be to put them into a dry container with the guacamole, pico, and sour cream inside. These were on a bed of green and red salsa- I just prefer them dry on the exterior. Fajita beef was tender and we got a couple of coupons on our first visit. A tad expensive-14.99 for a burrito, but I grew up getting them for like 7.99 and I know inflation has been horrible the past 4 years. Vicente was a nice guy and I wish you all the best! My friend chose this place to meet when she came into town. I had never heard of or been. I didn't even know it existed and I am on that exit all the time. I went in and it took a long time for someone to greet me and seat me. They were not busy either. Finally sat down and looked over the menu. I ordered enchiladas verde and a garlic shrimp. Neither of them had any flavor. Bland was an understatement. The only flavor it had was sour. Everything needed seasonings Badly!!! The "Latin stir fry" consisted 90% of huge onions and like a few 2-3 other pieces of veggies and again they had ZERO flavor. For $17 you would think I would get something other than white rice with peas in it, a whole onion and a few shrimp. Ridiculous for the cost. We went in last night to celebrate Fat Tuesday as a date night. Cantina Lime used to do a taco Tuesday special that was a happy hour special on margaritas and tacos that lasted all day. When we asked our waiter she told us that margaritas were $5 a drink and the special would cover the tacos. I asked if the tacos were on special the waiter responded the tacos were $5 still and the tacos were on special. we had a good meal but when we got our check they charged us $9 a drink and upcharged us 4% on our order for everything. I called the waitress over about the drinks and after asked about the upcharge on the margaritas she replied she told me she said margaritas were between $5 and $9 a drink. What kind of sense dies that even make?? We asked to talk to the manager and when confronted about the discrepancies he replied that was the direction of the owner to charge more for the drinks and automatically upcharge the customers 4% for the customers for credit cards regardless of how you are paying because we said you never asked us how we were paying. Again he redirected all blame to the owner and said it was out of his hands. This kind of practice is unethical and they are hoping customers don't look at they're bill details to capture more money from they're guests then what's printed on the menu. They have gone through multiple managers and know we know why. We simply won't be back due to dishonest behavior and you should be able to enjoy a meal without watching your back with upcharging (stealing) your money in the end! read more
