1-Star Review (If I could give zero, I would.) My family and I took our cat, Chico, to this clinic after he woke up not feeling well. What happened next was one of the most stressful, unprofessional, and dishonest vet experiences we have ever dealt with. Chico was diagnosed with a urinary blockage. The vet told us he needed surgery and would have to stay for three nights. We agreed, trusting that our cat would be properly cared for. On Saturday, the nurse told us Chico was doing well -- eating, drinking, and urinating normally. But when we came in on Sunday, everything suddenly changed. The vet claimed Chico wasn't doing well, that he wasn't urinating, and that he now needed another emergency surgery. Then the truth slipped out: The vet who introduced himself as the surgeon -- the one who told us he personally performed the surgery -- admitted he actually didn't do it. He said he'd been trying to reach the real surgeon and the technician, but neither of them was answering the phone. This was supposedly during an "emergency." He told us Chico may need the same surgery again that day (Sunday), and then a third surgery on Monday. Three surgeries in less than a week on a small, already stressed cat. Absolutely unacceptable. We told them we wanted to transfer Chico to a different hospital where a surgeon could actually treat him right away. That's when everything escalated. The vet got angry and aggressive. While talking to us, he smacked Chico's cone -- not once, not twice, but three times. There was no excuse. It was unprofessional, unnecessary, and honestly disturbing to watch. Then to make matters worse, he accused us of "only caring about money." That accusation was disgusting, especially considering the situation. We didn't care about the cost -- we cared about our cat being forced into three surgeries in under a week because their surgeon wouldn't come in. We were trying to take Chico somewhere where he could get the care he needed immediately, not wait around while staff ignored calls and argued with us. The staff was no better. The nurses were rude, dismissive, and unhelpful the moment they learned we wanted to switch clinics. One of them ignored me completely until it was time to take our payment. Another told us we were giving them a headache and tried to justify the surgeon not answering the phone by saying he "has a life outside of work." Meanwhile, Chico was supposedly in an emergency situation. And the biggest lie of all? They insisted Chico wasn't able to urinate. But the moment we removed him from their cage, he urinated. He urinated again in the car. He urinated when we got home. So clearly, they were not being truthful -- or they weren't paying attention to his care at all. This entire experience was emotionally draining and completely unacceptable. Our only priority was Chico's health, not money, not convenience -- just getting him safe, immediate medical care. Something this clinic clearly could not provide. Please avoid this clinic at all costs. Find a vet who is honest, gentle, and actually cares about both the animals and the families who bring them in. The vets here are caring and great at explaining and any of the assistants I talked to, well it's obvious to see that they all care deeply for animals. My poor old dog was sick and put them (and me) through a lot but I left there confident in my dogs recovery. I've seen other reviews saying that they're "rough" and I gotta say as someone who's had many pets and been to many vets, I've never once had any concern on them hurting my sensitive old lady and my family share that sentiment. I've lost all respect for this place. We've been bringing our dog here for nearly five years. Hardly ever had any issues until now. During a recent visit and for an ongoing allergy, we were given a shot and a some cream for his other allergies. After 24-48 hours, my dog continued to itch. I immediately called Canton Animal Hospital for a follow up. I received no call back by the end of the week. I called again, was told they were extremely busy, but the Dr. would call back. Still nothing. One last call to explain we've been waiting to hear back from our previous calls (now we're at two weeks from our initial visit). Again, we were told the Dr. will call by end of day. Again nothing. In the meantime my dog is itching perfusely. We decide to go to the location with dog in tow. We explained the above to the receptionist as well as how to get records if we need them. She went to the back. Returned, said nothing and begin printing. Once I realized she was printing OUR records, I asked, "so you're just going to hand us the records and not address the reason we're here?" She said, "Oh, I will, but I'm going to give these to you." She handed me a stack of papers and then went to the back. A few seconds later, the Dr. with the beard and turban came out and began telling my daughter and I that we came to get our records, so go. We explained we were here for our dogs continued itching after receiving service. He began saying itching and allergy is broad and its not much they can do without further testing. He wouldn't be able to see what's going on unless we make another appointment. We can also go somewhere else since we came to get our records. We were literally dismissed by the Dr. and told to go elsewhere. He had no regard for our animal or his well-being. He could care less about our initial ask (our dogs continued itch). We were completely dismissed. So I wonder if our dog's well-being was ever a priority. Lots of money spent..... WE'RE OUT!!!!! read more

While the exam and tests are affordable, you get what you pay for. They misdiagnose and notorious for pushing services that are not needed, advising to do blood work and x-rays for Everything that requires a diagnosis, the actual "exam" is a joke. When refusing X-rays of the uterus, do to dog in heat and the upcoming spay, Dr. Mortan and Dr. Vick teamed up to guilt trip me of getting the X-Rays, using scare tactics that my dog's uterus is filled with pus and dog will "Die" if I refused. At the end, there was nothing wrong with dog's uterus, she was simply in heat and it was what I brought the puppy for, the bladder infection. They are desperate to make a profit and will use fear or aggression to get people to pay. read more

After ZERO returned calls for 2 weeks about my dog itching + allergies, ZERO returned calls for medication & my dog more than likely being misdiagnosed WE ARE DONE! DR. SEWA MORTAN dismissed us, we got our vet records & he recommended we go elsewhere. After not answering our calls & us doing everything he said (which made my dog itch MORE) we showed up for an explanation & in short terms he said "Itching is broad, I am busy right now make an appointment for a diagnosis or go elsewhere". After seeing him multiple times over YEARS & spending THOUSANDS of $, I am absolutely disgusted to be treated this way as a LOYAL client. My dog received Cytopointe as seasonal allergy relief & it has NOT been working and I think I know why! Keep in mind they used to keep your pup in the room to get shots, but recently they started taking them to the back & ever since then it hasn't been as effective. Very caring, very affordable. My dog is a 3 year old american bulldog. She needed knee surgery for both her legs and we had to shop around for someone affordable. They have answered questions, made numerous phone calls to check on her and answered several phone calls for my questions as she is healing. They even told us it would be okay to transfer her follow up care to my local vet as I drove 2 hours for her to have this surgery where I could afford it. they suck. they're dirty. they're rude. From my personal experience: This place sucks and they're unsanitary. Won't run tests that they state they are going to, assistants and doctor are not on the same page (they say they can't understand him because of his thick accent, which I found unprofessional to say to customers about the doctor they're trusting to treat their pet). They stuck a thermometer in my dogs anus, then simply wiped the poop covered thermometer with a paper towel that had a half pump of hand sanitizer on it then put it RIGHT back in the cabinet for the next patient. The assistant suggested once near the middle of the appointment that she thought my dog could have been "poisoned by weed", and despite not testing for it and no signs indicating this, they forced us out the door insisting that this was the cause of my dogs illness. It was like they found something easy to pin it on and stuck with it to get us out the door. Before shooing us out, it was insisted that fluids needed to be administered before he could go. The staff then held my dog down and proceeded to squeeze an IV bag full of fluid into my dog (it was after closing time and they didn't want to wait for it to drip properly, so they SQUEEZED the entire bag over roughly 1 minute so they could hurry up and get out). The vet then pushed continually to administer a contrast dye "because I think he ate a sock or something based on the X-rays", which meant we would have to return the next day for additional imaging. We refused the dye and he pushed saying that it could also have "a soothing effect on the intestinal lining" which matches zero literature available on the contrast dye he wanted to use. His own staff didn't support that claim when asked. He got defensive stating that he's "not trying to pull anything here"... who said that? Now I'm suspicious of your motives. All in all-- I would not recommend. Plenty of vets in the area. Couldn't and wouldn't recommend this one. We tried to dispute the charge due to them not testing him for what was discussed, adding additional charges that weren't discussed, as well as the poor treatment our dog received, and they responded telling the card company that we "poisoned the dog with THC products", which is odd because NO tests were done for THC (despite them completing a blood sample and testing it for other things), it wasn't even a thought for them until the assistant said it flippantly, and he was pressing for a contrast dye because he was convinced he ate socks... so then if it WAS apparently "THC poisoning", why exactly would we have needed the additional services requiring additional imaging at all?! read more

Front desk is rude. The weekend doctor was so cold and had zero compassion for the tiny kitten I brought in that I had just found. His eyes were caked over and he clearly couldn't see and who knows when he last ate. The doctor was so rough with him it almost brought me to tears. When I submitted a review I was told the weekday doctor was better and to come back. Why keep a vet that everyone complains about and has zero compassion for the animals? I started going here because they have great hours and I was looking for a vet that could handle my dog! My dog does Not take shots well at all. The previous vet wanted to sedate my dog to give him shots because she could not handle him, wanted to do a big 2 day ordeal of anesthesia just to give shots . The doc at canton animal hospital made it look easy! Shots were no problem for them and his staff handles it like a pro! Since then, it's been an Injured leg, ear infection, shots and more shots, kennel cough, don't matter... fixes my dog quick and easy every time! I'll start with the only positive. The vet assistants and the people at the front desk are always really nice and welcoming. My dog has separation anxiety and I'm struggling the find the right medication that doesn't zap all of her energy but calms her enough so she doesn't hurt herself when she is left alone. This has caused me a lot of stress anytime I leave the house and is affecting my work and social life. I explained this to the vet and he proceeds to explain that I don't spend enough time with my dog. (Very untrue. Quite the opposite.) He explains an activity I can do with her: Fetch. As he is explaining exactly how to play fetch in detail I had to interrupt and tell him that I know how to play fetch, and play fetch frequently with her. He then repeats himself from the beginning how to play fetch two more times. TLDR: Go here if you want to be treated like an idiot. read more

This place was amazing. I called and got a same day appt for my injured cat. I wasn't told to wait weeks for an appt to open up. I got there a little early before the appt and was seen before my appt was scheduled. They took really good care of my cat and went above and beyond my expectations. I wish I could rate this place lower. My interaction with this clinic was nothing less than traumatic. Dr. Morton is a monster. I had a kitten, named Nimue, who, regrettably, had a severe bone disorder, which I did not know about when we adopted her. She was like Mr. Glass from the movie Unbreakable. Her bones were extremely weak and prone to breaking easily. I got her during a really vulnerable time in my life, and had a very strong bond with her. We took her to a specialist, who told us the condition was genetic and untreatable, and we should just keep her as long as she was happy and had a decent quality of life, and to put her down when that was no longer true. Unfortunately, one day, she suffered a terrible pelvic fracture. She was in pain and could no longer walk. It was clear that it was time to put her down, and I wanted to do it quickly so she wouldn't suffer. The only place that had an opening that day in the area was canton animal hospital. This was during Covid. When we arrived, someone gave us some paperwork on a clipboard and told us (my husband and I) to fill it out. I wanted to be in the room with her, masked, of course, so I asked the tech if that was okay. She said yes. They took Nimue to examine her, and told us someone would come out to get the paperwork after they had examined Nimue. I went back to wait in my car. There was a miscommunication. Apparently they weren't planning to examine her until after I brought the paperwork back to them. After waiting an hour.... An hour I didn't get to spend with my sweet baby, the miscommunication was realized. I was upset, the vet tech was defensive. I expressed my discontent, angry, but with no personal attacks, just asking them to be more clear and asking them to think through their choices, as I would rather have spent those precious moments with Nim. But, I also understood that covid was a crazy time. I again confirmed with the tech that I would be able to be in the room. We waited an additional 45 minutes, finally Dr. Morton called to talk to me after examining her. Firstly, I could barely understand the man. His Indian accent is so strong that his English is unintelligible. We went through her medical history, confirmed I wanted to put her down. Then it was clear he was trying to wrap up the call and hang up. So I told him I wanted to be in the room with her. He lied to me and told me that the Covid restrictions prevented this. I responded that 2 of his technicians had already told me it was acceptable as long as I was masked. Then he told me that, because Nimue was young (probably 7 months old), if he couldn't find a vein he may have to do an intracardiac euthanization. "You're going to stab her in the heart?!" I screamed at my phone. "Yes, if I can't find a vein" he responded, as though he was talking about the weather. I screamed that he had better find a vein and that he was not to proceed without me there. Personally, I just think that an intracardiac euthanization would have been marginally faster, and he was making his decisions based on that. It would explain the lie. A-hole. Anyway, he did find a vein, and I was permitted in the room. I was sobbing my eyeballs out as she died, stroking her and putting my face against her fur. The doctor was talking about how I needed to hurry up because he needed the room for his other patients. And that was AS SHE WAS DYING, it's not like I lamented there for 15 minutes or anything. This was within a minute or two. There was a young man there, with the doctor as Nimue died, who was compassionate, who expressed sympathy for us, and I wish I could thank him. That was the only hint of human support or empathy we received at the hands of this monster, and honestly it meant everything to me, on such a dark day. You know, I think I'll just mail this review to the clinic, so hopefully the young man will know that his kindness mattered. Matters. Because it does. And so that the doctor will know that he is a monster. Because he is. I'm am considering legal action. Do not expose your fur babies to this monster, Under any circumstances. read more

Did not have a great experience with this clinic. Came all the way from Texas with my dog and she ended up having issues so we needed a vet. After calling 5 places this was the only clinic that would take her. Im very grateful they were able to fit her in but other than that we did not have a good time. My mother in law came with me and the vet would only look/talk directed at her even after explaining it was MY dog and I'm the one paying he would not look at me to answer questions I asked. The vet was rushing everything and ran out of the room without explaining what was going on or allowing time for questions. Then they tried taking my dog to the back for a procedure without explaining what they were doing so I had to tell the tech to bring the vet back in and actually listen to our questions and give us the time of day. Thats ridiculous. However, the vet tech was super nice and understanding, he was the best part of our experience. Then we had a follow up appointment the day we planned to drive back to Texas to check the wounds healing. This time I brought my fiancé with me and the vet would only talk to him instead of me. They also made us wait 40 minutes after our appointments start before seeing us. They said it was because they only had one Vet which I get but at the same time dont schedule appointments so close together where the Vet will get backed up and has to rush all his appointments. I tried to give this place a chance more then once ...but I'm done ! Can't even give me the right flea medicine for my CATS, even AFTER looking at my chart.... So excited to find a clinic open late and on weekends! Started taking my pit bull here for shots, nail trims etc. It was perfectly fine until I actually needed a vet. My baby girl had a lump on her back leg so I brought her in. After the tests the vet sat me down and told me it was cancer. He said it was in her bone and their was nothing he could do. Told me I could get meds but I'd have to put her down when the pain got to bad. I was balling my eyes out while he sat across from me with a straight face, then proceeded to go over my bill. No compassion, cold. I took her somewhere else for a second opinion. Same diagnosis different outcome. They told me she would have to loss her leg. The vet reassured me everything will be fine and offered to put me on payment plans! After that she was my tripod! 6 years later she started throwing up and acting strange. It was late and I was scared so I took her back to the canton clinic. He said she was dehydrated and he thought she might have an ulcer. He gave her 3 shots an IV and who knows what else. He did everything without my permission. Handed me a bill for 450 dollars and was pissed that I didn't just have that money. He wouldn't let me leave or send me a bill. If I could give zero stars I most definitely would. This vet is possibly the worst in the county. My fiancé took our dog in on Sunday for an emergency consultation because something was wrong with ear. We figured it was popped blood vessels pooling in the tip of her ear and it was. He said he could fix it and we'll do anything for our family. So we scheduled a hematoma surgery. My fiancé dropped her off this morning and they asked him why he didn't bring a head wrap for her post surgery; this was the first time they said anything about needing to provide such material. Fast forward to pick up. Staff, at first, were informative of when to give medication and for how long. They said I had to come back for a follow up, which I was not against, but I could not schedule at the time because we have jobs and schedules that we cannot take off work to bring her back in such a short time frame. I stated I would get home and figure something out and call back to make an appointment. Then the vet comes out from around the corner yelling at me saying, "if you don't come back your dog will die or her ear will die and that's your fault! Make a note in the file that they are refusing care! You are neglecting care? Make a note in the file!" Among many other things. I was applauded. I was upset. I stated that I've never been treated in such way by someone that's supposed to represent a professional business and it was bullshit. Here comes a tech to join in on the harassment. She begins raising her voice as well telling me not to swear in the office. I asked her if she did not just hear how I was just being treated? She continues to say "sometimes our doctor doesn't explain things correctly." As if that is a perfect excuse for the most unprofessional interaction I have ever witnessed. The doctor continues to yell to the other tech cashing me out to make a note in the file to never accept us back. At this point I'm ready to go. I continue to say thanks for taking care of my dog, ask if I have everything I need, and that I will be taking my dog to her regular vet for the check up. He continued to yell that I'm a neglectful pet owner for not bringing her back to him. $900 later (which was $200 more than the given estimate) and I left in tears and made a call to her vet to schedule a house call. Please avoid at all cost. There are far more local professional animal hospitals that will treat pets and their owners with respect and care and not just a walking bank they nickel and dime and feel like they can speak however they want to. read more

My dog jumped out of my moving car late one night. His hind leg was bleeding pretty bad and i wasn't sure how deep the cut was or if he needed stitches. I didn't want to take the chance of his wound not healing properly. I panicked, as this is my first dog and he had never been injured before. The only non emergrncy animal hospital close to me that was still open was Canton Animal Hospital. I ran in within 10 minutes to closing time. The doors were locked however the vet techs saw the panic in my eyes and let me in. I begged the vet to just take a look at my dog to let me know if the gash was bad enough to require stitches or not and I would be on my way. Dr. Morton cleaned up my dog, took a honest look, and told me he needed stitches, however he could not preform them that night due to all the other processes needed (blood work and anesthesia) he said he would happily help first thing the following morning. He said he would give my dog pain meds and antiboitics for now but i needed to keep him over night. I am thinking about how much all of this is going to cost and he assured me that he would give me a fair price and would even board mt dog over night, Free of Charge, to assure he was in a clean enviorment and no infection could take place. Also if my dog stayed the night there, Dr. Morton assured me he would work on him the moment he walked into the door the following morning. I felt so much better leaving him there and the team was so patient with me, even tho the vet office was closed at this point. Dr. Morton himself called me the next day with the progress my dog had made and the results of the stitches. Even after I brought my dog home he called me multiple times in the span of two weeks to check in on my dog and the wound. He reassured me if there were any issues at all to bring my dog in and it would be free of charge. I just recently took my dog to get his stitches removed and I could not be happier with the service I receieved. The wound healed wonderfully, the stitch work done was wonderful. This team had such compassion for me and my dog. They really cared about his well being. Along with all of this, I felt I was priced extremely fairly. I highly recommend this vet clinic. Dr. Morton really makes it obvious that he cares about his animal patients and will do whatever he can to help. I appreciate Canton Animal Hospital so much! Thank you!!! read more

This is a terrible place to take your pet. Avoid at all costs. I took my dog in because he was itching himself and his ears excessively. The vet came in did a half-assed physical exam, barely checked for anything, and then excused himself. He came back and told us that it was completely normal and dogs go through this. He explained the bill to us and told us he gave us a "discount" even though the bill was close to 200 dollars. We are first time dog owners and we didn't know any better. We still took him in for a second opinion and turns out he had ticks. Save your time and your money. Dr. Lubana is a terrible, terrible person. I don't know how this place is still open. read more

Will not be taking my dog back. Went it for a check up because my dog was only eating about half of what she normally does. However, she was still gulping down water like normal. I took in stool samples to check for anything abnormal and they refused to test them. Instead they wanted to do an xray and blood work and told me I could pick her up in a couple hours. After coming to pick her up, they had put her on IV drip all day and said she needed to come back the next day. After 2 days of fluids and "medication" and $500+, she now won't eat and has chronic diarrhea. I now have to take her to another vet to fix what they did. STAY AWAY read more

Our puppy Zeus had Diarrhea and wasn't eating or drinking for 2 days. We took him to the Canton Animal Hospital and Dr. Mortan took an x-ray and found that his stomach was full of blood. He had Zeus stay over night with an IV and sent him home with us the next day. He told us to bring Zeus back if he didn't start eating the next day. We ended up bringing Zeus back and the doctor kept Zeus hospitalized with an IV for another 2 days without charging us any additional fees. Dr. Mortan took care of Zeus like he was his own puppy and we appreciate him more than he knows! Zeus is back to perfect health and playful as usual. I highly recommend Canton Animal Hospital and Dr. Mortan. They nursed our baby back to health at a reasonable cost.Thank you again Dr. Mortan!! read more

This place was HORRIBLE and DANGEROUS. Any reasonable person reading Yelp reviews will surely stay away at this point, but I wanted to add my experience. The vet tech working here, Allison, is a nightmare. She was instantly rude to me from the moment she walked into the exam room. I have a 10 week old kitten who has been sneezing excessively - he is a total sweetheart and my kids are in love, so I brought him in to make sure nothing funky was going on with his tiny self. She rolled her eyes at me when I answered any of her questions. I had a horrible gut feeling about her. She stated she needed to take his temp. We all know how that's done. I was petting and holding him on the exam table and she gave me no coaching and just proceeded with doing the deed. I was totally shocked when he started biting me all over my hands, deep punctures drawing blood that went all over me, my clothiing and his fur. Acting annoyed, Allison stated "I guess we will skip the temperature for now" and left the room. With no sink in the room, I began to scrounge around the drawers for an alcohol swab or something antibacterial to no avail. The vet was pretty surprised when he entered the room to find me bleeding, and took me to the back to thoroughly wash my hands in the sink. No one ever apologized or had one iota of basic human compassion or remorse. When I returned home, I began to research my patient rights and found that - "It is below the standard of care to allow an owner to restrain their pet for any veterinary procedure" ... This is the veterinary code of law. I have many photos of how badly wounded my hands were and plan to pursue this to the full extent of my abilities. Seriously. This place is a dumpster fire. Kloey, my Jack Russel, had a serious accident over the weekend. Dr Mortan and his staff were absolutely wonderful! They were professional as well as compassionate. They made us feel like Kloey was the only pet in there. I didn't expect this level of service since he is not our primary vet, but was extremely surprised on how well he treated us. They not only treated Kloey with care, but treated us, the owners as well. We received a follow up call on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday to check on how she was doing, that doesn't happen with many vets I know. They are an awesome vet and I would highly recommend them to everyone. To some people this is just a job, but you can tell that for Dr. Mortan and his staff this is a calling Thank you again for taking such great care of our baby!!!! James Zabik read more

Horrible, horrible vet......seems more interested in explaining your bill than actually caring for your pet. He charged us for a procedure that was not needed (we adopted our dog from a rescue....they said she was never spayed, turned out she was). We've been a few times and NOT ONCE has he actually done a thorough physical exam. The techs are very nice and knowledgeable, but Dr. Lubana does not seem to like animals very much.....cares more about getting your money. Don't make the same mistake I did.....I wouldn't recommend this place to ANYONE! read more
