    Clean, but sparse sit-down area

A new choice for Chinese food is located in the former Fatso's building at the entrance to Home Depot on Buffalo Road. We were hopeful that it would be a full-service restaurant replacing the Wockery which has been gone for years, but not so. Instead, it is an almost-fast-food eatery with a choice of ordering one or two entrees plus rice or lo mein from an attractive steam-table display or additional items made to order from a displayed menu. I chose a 1 item combo of pepper steak and fried rice. They added an egg roll as an opening week gift. I got it to-go and had to reheat it by the time I got home; maybe the table should have been hotter. The food was a very good, especially the egg roll had good filling. There was plenty of food for the cost and all tasted fresh. The set-up is reminiscent of the Chinese food bar at Wegmans except the price is not by weight. They fill the container half entree, half rice. Lots of food. It's family-run and I was greeted promptly as there was only one other customer and explained the options. I'd be back again for take-out as the dining room is more like a school cafeteria than a comfortable sit-down restaurant, clean but sparse. For ordering ahead, the number is 585-510-6886.

We went for lunch and the food was great. The counter girl was helpful and nice and the price was right. We'll be back.

While visiting on a cool night, the Dan Dan Noodles sounded really appealing to me, and they did not disappoint! The bowl was a large portion with a good amount of noodles and tender, juicy ground pork. The broth was hot and spicy, but also flavorful...the heat was not too overpowering for me. I was very happy with my meal, but also happy to taste some other items we got to share. Edamame always seems like a good way to start a meal...these were overly salted for my liking. The scallion pancake was okay...a little small with just four thin pieces. More successful were the namesake dumplings. I really liked their versions of Xaio Long Bao - both the original pork and shrimp varieties contained delicious broth and fillings. We also shared the pork and chive dumplings, beef dumplings, and pork and corn dumplings...and we would order all of them again! The orange chicken was also an enjoyable dish to share, and good way to add some variety to the plethora of dumplings. I'm sure they get a lot of young customers from RIT and UofR, and the music catered more to this audience - it was a bit loud for my preference. But, service was very good and it is a fun casual environment to enjoy some good, reasonably priced chow with friends!

Not very adventurous but a good start for comparisons. My impression was that each item was well-prepared with fresh ingredients. Just would have liked more broccoli in the chicken. Ordered online directly with og for pickup. A very friendly app and food was ready quickly. We'll try other items soon.

Street parking is available, no charge for that. We encountered construction so we had to drive around for a bit but it was worth it. Seated immediately one arriving, we went with a couple appetizers- my personal favorite, the scallion pancake and the steamed bao with BBQ pork belly inside. That comes two to an order so it worked out nicely. Both were exceptional. The scallion pancake is like no other. Extra crispy, incredibly flavorful- and I love their dipping sauce. Vinegary, sweet and sour. The buns were pillowy soft and the pork belly was tender and full of that smoky BBQ taste. For entrees, we chose the Kung Pow Shrimp and the Singapore style curry noodles that came with shrimp, bbq pork, and beef. Both dishes were plentiful. The shrink was definitely spicy, you can see with all of the red chilies in the sauce, with the peanuts and celery pieces cut on the bias for a classy look. The portion on the Singapore noodles was very hefty...we upgraded our rice to fried rice so we had a lot of food today. All in all, this was an enjoyable visit. Since I am headed home tonight I wanted to be sure I had enough food to last me the rest of the day until I get back to ATL. This place ALWAYS delivers! Support small businesses!
