Scallion beef wrap, tasty, beef a bit tough

Great food, lovely to order off the menu and have a never ending supply or dishes rotating past you. The shrimp rice roll was a favorite. The service was attentive and friendly. The place was nice and clean.

Warning, the parking lot is very small! But there was plenty of seating inside. We loved the cat robot that delivered out food. The rotating sushi was also a plus as we were able to get rolls with Less pieces of sushi so we could still enjoy dim sum. The pork buns are a must try, my favorite thing we had. The chicken soup dumplings were a close runner up. My least favorite was the scallion pancake as it was burnt but still glad I tried it. For three of us we spent about $20 each for all our food plus dessert!

Such a cute place. It was tricky to find tucked way in the back of two other restaurants but no matter. Ordering was a bit confusing especially if there are two parties (separate checks) at one table. The conveyor belt was fun but not everything on it was proper temp. If it had been there for awhile. I thought it was cool with the little thing on top that brought your food but with 2 parties ordering the same thing it was hard to know who's was who's and the waitress didn't know one dish from another which wasn't helpful. The food arrived piping hot. It was delicious! Loved the soup dumplings and the fried pork bun. We also had the egg custard buns so good. They have a cat robot that brings your drinks. Don't skimp on the mints when you leave they are really good!

If you're wondering how it works, each table has a card with instructions. I've uploaded a picture too. Order using the screen at your table and the food will be sent to you on the top section of the conveyor belt. Is the dish ours or the table on the other side? The green light facing your table will let you know it's for you. The button to send it back will also be lit. Whoever sits next to the conveyor has the lucky role of server and grabs the dishes. We got lost in conversation and had to pay attention when the dishes came because there's no sound/ding. The food came out one at a time and we didn't wait long. The continuous conveyor belt had mostly sushi and bun selections that you can grab. The instruction card tells you the price of the different colored plates. Server was great and kept our drinks refilled and table clear. We came mostly for the dimsum and tried one nigiri salmon just to try the sushi. I prefer the dimsum. We had a variety of dishes and most were good. I didn't care for the soup dumplings flavor and lack of soup; the short ribs were a bit chewy; I didn't care for the nigiri salmon. We ended our lunch with an egg custard tart and the golden black buns, both were nice semi-sweet desserts to end the meal. I think they will do well with dimsum as there's not as many dimsum restaurants in town compared to sushi. Prices range from $3-$7 per plate, more for larger kitchen dishes. Our group of 3 had about 15 plates and an order of Chinese broccoli and it was about $45 per person with tip and some take home boxes.

Great experience at Spin And Savor. We had some confusion finding the entrance. We went through the front which actually takes you to a different restaurant. The staff gave us instructions to keep walking to a specific point which took us to the spin and savor dining room. The dining room was large and spacious. The conveyor built was bigger than I expected. We ordered using the tablet. The owner came over to us multiple times throughout our visit to talk about the food we ordered. Very personable! Our food was brought out to us by a robot which played music. We enjoyed the sushi. The scallion beef wrap was incredible. One item we didn't like was a pan fried pork and shrimp dumpling. The flavor combination was not something that worked for me. Overall we enjoyed our food and would like to visit again.

Have been wanting to check this place out and glad to have finally checked it out with my family. It was a holiday so there was a good sized crowd. The concept is neat with a conveyor belt Dimsum and sushi. I really appreciated the selection. I am not sure if it was a holiday and they had their full selection on the conveyor belt but I found it was better to order the items off the menu via the tablet provided at the table. My favorites were the pineapple bun, beef rice noodle roll, shrimp dumplings and bean curd roll. The service was a bit slow but I liked the variety of dim sum dishes provided. My son loved the cat robot and koi pond.

Good dim sum, steep price All of the dim sum I ordered was quite good, and honestly, probably the better costing thing there. The sushi was alright, but depending on what color you grab it can be like $7 for 3 pieces of sushi which is kinda insane. Very reminiscent of 'Umai Revolving Sushi' but with dim sum so in that regard I think it's better. If you can justify the price, it's fine to try out and see if you like it.

You sit next to this whimsical conveyor belt at a table with an iPad where you order to your hearts content.

Newest obsession! Festival of colors, lights, and beautiful food. Sit in the beautifully decorated dining area where you choose from a large menu that is robotically shipped to your table. You can also choose anything that slides past you on the conveyor belt. I tried so many things, it's completely addictive. Great for adults and kids alike.

Food and good and the exspirance is pretty cool Dint get pictures of sushi as we were hungry

My wife and I visited Spin and Savor on 5 July 2025 for lunch. The dim sum was well-made and the various high-tech options from the iPad for ordering to the robot and conveyor-belt servers made it a fun experience as they blended high-tech with traditional surroundings. Great food and a fun place to visit!

Food was great Service was outstanding From the conveyor belt continually updated to the robot signing happy birthday The servers, managers were outstanding The only thing I had a hard time with was what door to go into - and the other restaurant tried to keep me as if I had a reservation with them! lol

They had their soft opening the week of October 8th! Pros- host/maitre d was welcoming! He introduced different dishes for newcomers and made sure to make his rounds to ensure you are enjoying your meal. For anyone looking for authentic dim sum chinese food, you can't knock it until you try it atleast once. I miss the old days where you see dim sums cart being pushed around. Time have changed and modernized where you'll food go around on conveyor belts or you can order food off the pos system and the dancing robot playing ed sheeran brings it to you or a staff member. Cons - limited food menu but it's only the soft opening. The young waitress seem sweet but needs more training. She had no clue what the food was and had to flag her down multiple times for stuff to have her disappear. Sushi rolls need to be packed tighter. The rice should not be falling apart. Desserts need to be a bit warmer.

The food was delicious. Me and my grandson got some of their hot food options and we also tried the revolving sushi. Everything was very well put together and they had amazing service with robots delivering our food in under 10 minutes! The ambiance was very calm.

Nothing spilled, everything still looked fresh, which already put me in a good mood. Now the food... I cannot believe how good the lobster roll is. If you haven't had it, you haven't lived. It's that kind of good. Like pause mid-bite, close your eyes, what is happening right now kind of delicious. The miso soup was a whole experience by itself. Warm, comforting, and it just felt nourishing. Not just something on the side, but something you actually appreciate with every sip. And the Brussels sprouts... I added just a little soy sauce and wow. Completely took them to another level. So simple but so good. This is one of those places where everything hits. Fast delivery, great packaging, and food that actually lives up to the hype. I'm already bookmarking this spot.

You are seated at a tablet in front of a conveyor belt with the sushi making it's way around the restaurant. You can take whatever catches your eye as it passes in front of you, or you can order from the tablet. If you order from the tablet, little cars bring the food on a second, higher conveyor belt above the first one, or sometimes a robot brings it to your seat. So there are 2 moving belts, robots, and servers. It's a lot! Fun, but be aware. It is cool that you can see things moving past and try different things. The plates on the belt are also less than a full order, which means you can try more things, if that's your style. Service is pretty quick since you're helping yourself from the belt. They do a good job making sure there is a variety of items on the belt and seemed to restock pretty quickly. You can mostly chose from rolls and nigiri. I do like American style rolls, and enjoyed the options. The guy prefers nigiri. We ordered some tempura and picked some nigiri from the menu as well. I really enjoyed the veggie tempura. They have good salmon - we tried the peppered salmon, which he thought was too much, but was smokey and peppery, and I enjoyed. There was also a spicy yellowtail, and plain salmon that was also nice quality. We shared an ice cream sundae with one of the little fish shaped cakes for dessert, which was really good. I liked the little cake with the red bean paste inside. It was fun and pretty low key.

We went on a Wednesday evening and were the only people in the restaurant for a little bit, so I would definitely recommend coming out on a week night if you can! Our server was absolutely lovely. Super attentive, even with the fact he didn't have to take our orders. Topped off our waters multiple times, made sure we were enjoying, etc. Speaking of ordering, their system is awesome!! It was super easy to browse the menu and make our selections, and we didn't have to worry about any awkwardness. Might just be a me thing, but I sometimes feel self conscious putting in a big order when I have to actually say it out loud to a person, so their phone ordering system was super helpful in making me feel more comfortable. The food was really good! On par with many other sushi places I've been in Rochester. I don't eat meat, and there were still so many veggie options for me. I especially loved the veggie dumplings and tofu skin/avocado roll. My bf loved the spicy crab onigiri and the beef skewers. The restaurant and restrooms were clean. The price seems to be slightly cheaper than other AYCE places in the area, even for dinner. We will definitely be back! As much as I miss Tap & Mallet, I was very happy with this spot!

They are known as an all you can eat place, but we got two rolls for take away instead. From what I saw when picking up, the place looks nice enough inside, but nothing special. We ordered a Dream Roll and a 2 in 1 roll. Neither were that great and the dream roll was missing the tuna and salmon it was supposed to have and they used a crab stick instead of real crab which was disappointing as well. The 2 in 1 roll was ok but nothing special. I will say that the order was ready early and they were gracious enough to included eel sauce and spicy mayo on the side as I requested, because it was not available as an add on, so I am going to assume the service is solid. Unfortunately there are too many good sushi places in town to try this place again.

The yakitori was disappointing. Dry chicken skewered with green onion and covered in a sauce that tasted more like mitarashi dango glaze than actual yakitori tare. Extremely sweet and not the right flavor profile at all. The sushi was the bigger issue. Both the chirashi and the sushi combo had almost identical fish selections. Several pieces were clearly low-quality, especially the white fish, which tasted unmistakably like tilapia! Muddy flavor and all. I've never been served tilapia as sushi before, and it definitely shouldn't be used that way. The other fish didn't taste fresh either. The California roll was large snd bland. We paid a little over $90 with tip, and the quality didn't match the price. I even brought the leftover fish home thinking I could cook it for our cat, but even he refused it. I understand not expecting high-end sushi in upstate NY, but I do expect basic freshness and authenticity. Unfortunately, this meal fell far below that. I would not recommend this place.

The steak in the steak teriyaki was perfectly cooked to medium as requested and very savory and meaty. While visiting on a cool night, the Dan Dan Noodles sounded really appealing to me, and they did not disappoint! The bowl was a large portion with a good amount of noodles and tender, juicy ground pork. The broth was hot and spicy, but also flavorful...the heat was not too overpowering for me. I was very happy with my meal, but also happy to taste some other items we got to share. Edamame always seems like a good way to start a meal...these were overly salted for my liking. The scallion pancake was okay...a little small with just four thin pieces. More successful were the namesake dumplings. I really liked their versions of Xaio Long Bao - both the original pork and shrimp varieties contained delicious broth and fillings. We also shared the pork and chive dumplings, beef dumplings, and pork and corn dumplings...and we would order all of them again! The orange chicken was also an enjoyable dish to share, and good way to add some variety to the plethora of dumplings. I'm sure they get a lot of young customers from RIT and UofR, and the music catered more to this audience - it was a bit loud for my preference.
