Shocking... I have ordered from them for years. In recent years I discovered a favorite thing to order is an appetizer platter because it's a little bit of everything - fried shrimp, spring rolls, BBQ pork, crab puffs, and short ribs. I also order their lobster puffs which are a wonton wrapper purse filled with lobster, crazy good sauce and a touch of shredded carrot. This time I was in shock. All the meat was so overcooked that the pork was gray. The short ribs were almost charcoal cinder... the burned meat was next to all the other appetizers which, well, ruined the entire thing. So, I figured at least the lobster puffs were separate and looked amazing. I bit into one and it wasn't foul... it was just very confusing because it tasted completely different... I looked at the other half and was like wait... that's not lobster... that's a shrimp... so, I thought maybe it was an accident one off... nope, so apparently they switched to shrimp and are still charging for lobster... WOW. Let's say the restaurant ran out of lobster... I could completely see letting a customer know. That was not what happened here and as a customer, I am not a fan of being lied to especially in a world where people have allergies to proteins. Thankfully I'm not allergic to shrimp. It's a karaoke bar. We stopped in for a drink and grabbed dinner to go (I got Kung Pao Tofu...) And it was okay. It wasn't great it wasn't healthy (duh,) but meh. The service was great. The whiskey was good (Pendleton,) and the ambiance is divey. I can't say too much good one bad just middle ground on the rest. read more

Last day of vacation and just wanted some basic Chinese American food - nothing fancy - something like Panda Express + Went down the hill to canton phoenix for the first time. Firstly - not too sure if there's also a restaurant but I happened into the lounge/bar. Dark, dive-y, slot machines, lots of presumed regulars that know each other - not mad about it. Kind of a fun surprise. Ordered food, had a drink while I waited and donated 20 bucks to the state of Oregon by way of the Buffalo slot machine. Got my takeout order and boy - what a lot of food! I got the family dinner (B) for 2. This easily would feed 3-4 - broccoli beef, sweet and sour chicken, fried rice, fried shrimp and then a sample of appetizers - bbq pork, crab Rangoon and egg rolls. So - for less than 40 bucks this is incredible. The food is a solid 3 - my husband would say 2. We just had incredible food on vacation - I was fine with it. Definitely not anything authentic, and I'm pretty sure most everything came from frozen, but it tasted fine. All to be said, not great, not bad. I attended a gathering in November 2025 and choose to order Chicken LoMein to go which I usually would eat 3-5 times at the price. It showed up on a plate first of all, I said "No it's Togo". But I took one small bite. It's was barely warm. Clearly not pan fried to heat up per prepped ingredients. I did to think the noodles seemed over cooked but thought it might be because it was not heated enough. The next day I took it out of the sealed ziplock I put any leftovers in so they don't dry out and prepped a bowl full. First I tasted it cold. All I could taste was the heavy starch of the noodles. I tasted cold a piece of chicken and it tasted and looked like chicken from a bag, pre cooked, I added mushrooms and they were fresh and added to the pre prepared LoMein. I had to go into the garbage. I'm a senior with a heart condition and the last thing I want is questionable food products in my gut. I'm also living on SS and count on if I buy restaurant food at $12-20 I'll be eating it 4-5-6 times so then the price fits within my budget. This was not the case here. It's was not particularly busy when I ordered. And it was to go, so no rush as I was attending a special gathering and drinking at the bar. Had my Hot and sour soup and looking forward to the LoMein. I wish I could give a better review of the service. The two that were there were also delivering food through they had a staff person dedicated that so after my first drink I couldn't get a second until I finally raised my voice " Excuse me, may I get another drink?" Then the person running food served me. I paid, paid my respects to the host of the gathering and went to another place to meet up with others that wanted my company. Once the night carried on and we ordered food the bartender had a hard turn and cut off my entire party after 2 rounds of drinks, was instantly rude and just straight up a bitch. Honestly, mass produced Chinese buffet food sitting out under a heat lamp and would likely be better quality. We ordered the po po platter, beef Lo mein, wonton soup and sweet and sour chicken. I'll start with the good. Beef lo mein was actually pretty good. Huge portion, juicy meat, can't go wrong here. That about sums up the good. Now the bad. The wonton soup was bland and awful. Only 2 wontons that tasted fine but the broth tasted like water. The sweet and sour chicken was so heavily battered that you couldn't even tell there was chicken in it. And worst of all the po po platter. Ribs and bbq pork were so dry and rubbery that I struggled it take a bite off of it. Worst of all, the fried shrimp were not only over cooked, they weren't even deveined! I took a bite into one and saw the poop, I tore into the other ones and every single one of them wasn't deveined. Still a solid 4 stars! I continue to appreciate the owners being careful during COVID (the pandemic isn't over just because you are over it). I'll step down off my soapbox now and say the takeout service remains stellar and efficient. My call for delivery has always been handled quickly over the phone and my food is delivered by their own staff, eliminating the need to use one of the food delivery services like UberEats or DoorDash. I love that my delivery person gets their entire tip too. One of my favorite dishes is a Chef's Special called "Happy Family" ($15.95): an assortment of meat & seafood with every vegetable imaginable, stir-fried and seasoned perfectly. To go with that, the House Special Fried Rice ($13.95) is best in my opinion. Another dish I love is the Curry Chicken with Potato ($13.95). A bit unusual but the yellow curry is spot on. I've substituted tofu for the chicken and it is delicious. Canton Phoenix is not fancy but the food is consistently good and the customer service is very good. We are happy campers! read more

So it's not the same as it used to be, they've gone through some staff changes as of the last 6 months, it used to be like Cheers, I'd stop in there after work and everybody knew my name. Now the staff seams to come and go and it's just not the same!!! My favorite bar tender was Heidi but the was there forever and then not! My family have been coming to this location before and after the Canton Phoenix acquisition and for the most part have had very solid food and experiences. I believe many restaurants are fighting to stay afloat after the pandemic, and I know that many are short staffed but my mind was blown when I tried ordering and I was shouted at and scolded by the woman working there. I had absolutely no problem with waiting so I don't know what was wrong but I walked out which was a first for me anywhere. If you hate people to the point of loathing then the hospitality industry is not a good choice for your occupation. People at the front are the face of any business and I'm sorry that I came and I won't be back. read more

Old school for sure: decent and inexpensive Westside fare. Our server recognized my mom and was so kind. We took the dim sum route for lunch and were satisfied overall. Tip: stick to the steamed options and pass on the fried, such as lobster balls and Wo Kok, as the latter are oily. Canton has been through a lot of changes over the past few years. And struggled a bit during COVID. But they have come through it and are better than ever. The lounge has been remodeled. The staff has a great attitude, takes care of you and pours solid drinks. They have a new KJ for karaoke and he is great. And they have improved the lighting and the sound for their karaoke singers. The patrons are not too 'local', so it's welcoming to anyone, regulars or newbies. I recommend the bar/lounge highly. The restaurant is no more and only serves food in the lounge or for takeout/delivery. Food quality is pretty good under the new owners, but the dim sum is still awesome. I occasionally will come here for dinner before karaoke starts at 8PM, as the food is still a 3 or 4. But the bar is a 4.5 or 5, especially if you want music (karaoke on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, open mike on Thursday, ). Oh, and remodeled bathrooms! read more

My mama was craving some dim sum but did not want to go far- we live in the burbs and finding dim sum is a challenge! Much to our surprise this little restaurant is tucked into a shopping complex in Tigard! The place is being remodeled so the restaurant was closed but the bar was open. The bartender and owner were gracious and patient with our order. The baked items were not offered that day, but we found many items to feast on and ordered the green beans off their menu. We were told dim sum may take a bit longer since they make it by hand. We received our dishes fairly fast. The spare ribs, shrimp, scallops and my mama's favorite- chicken feet and tripe! Food was fresh and flavorful. We topped it off with some drinks at the bar. I encourage you to try this spot- not fancy but clean and comfortable. We will be back to try the salt and pepper shrimp. My family decided since it's 2020 we would order Chinese takeout for thanksgiving. This place did not disappoint. It was amazing. First, when we called in our order the man told us it would be about a hour wait and they were very busy. We arrived just about a hour and only had to wait 10 more minutes. Which was awesome considering there was about 8 other people waiting to pick up. Second, the food was amazing, tasty, and fresh. Not greasy or heavy, just all around great. I ordered take out last night and I got the Mongolian Beef with Pot stickers, Spring Rolls and a Wonton Soup with vegitables. My complaint is that the Soup tasted like hot dishwater absolutely unedible I will never order that again. Went with the husband, walked into the restaurant and there was a sign in the lobby area that said to stay behind the chair and wait to be seated. There was also a table that had menus stacked on it so we grabbed one while waiting for someone. After 10 minutes and no one coming out to greet us my husband walked around the corner and got someone. They come to the lobby and say that the restaurant side is closed, but we can go to the bar to order and that we were looking at the wrong menu. We put the menus back and we walk next door to the bar. There was a live band so it was not easy to hear/have conversation so we opted to order food and take it home. (And the menu that we were looking at on the restaurant side was much cheaper than what we were given in the bar, the dishes were all $6-$10 more than the other menu) The wait was kind of long, but they were pretty busy for a Thursday evening. The bar tender was very friendly and helpful and offered us a drink while we waited. Once home we opened up all the containers and everything was hot and fresh. It smelled and tasted amazing. I had one of the combination dinners. The BBQ pork was not gristly and had lots of flavor, the pork fried rice was flavorful, fried shrimp was cooked perfectly. Not one complaint about the food! It would have been nice to know that their dine in option is not available right now aside from the bar. Mentioning it on their website or even a sign out front would be helpful. And if they aren't going to advertise that then they should have someone watching the lobby area so they don't have customers sitting there waiting, just to be told they have to go next door. read more
