OmG to be fair this review is based off one dish that I got to go, but they have the most amazing salt & pepper shrimp! And its breaded which makes it so much better! I could eat it everyday! This is one of my favorite places. I enjoy the ambiance more than anything else...okay, well maybe not more than the Thai iced tea. I'm not sure why, but I believe they have the best Thai tea around. I order this drink every time I go to a pho restaurant. GoGo's is tops for me in that department. As far as the ambiance, I really enjoy sitting outside in their gated area. I bring my dog and sip my tea on sunny days. They have some gambling machines inside and they seem to pretty popular from what I can tell. The staff is always friendly and consistent. They don't seem to have much turnover, so you can really get to know your server. The food. It's good. Is it the best I've ever had? It's a 7 out of 10 for me. So pretty decent. Glad that this place is open later than others. Happened to scroll past when looking for food around 9. We did order it to go, so I can't really speak much to the ambiance or staff and it also likely directly affected the experience of the food. My Wife had the beef pho and I had the special rice combination. Portion size was kind of smaller than I would have expected. But this may be due to it being take out and not presented the way they would have served in the restaurant. Same for the Special combo. Been here one time and was happy with the food! I ordered the shrimp pad Thai and was happy with the quality. The portion was average amount and I could eat it all in one sitting. They were able to make it spicy, which I love. And my friend ordered the pho and he liked it as well. To go order for a light lunch, got a couple appetizers- the shrimp salad rolls and bbq short ribs. The employee who helped me gave the recommendation of the ribs and they were a great choice! When I got my food, I wasn't expecting kalbi and was pleasantly surprised that the bbq ribs were that, had some onion and fish sauce with side of fries. 5pc or so of the ribs. The salad roll was fresh and the rice paper wasn't overly stiff like it was left out too long or overly cold. Food never disappoints! I love the salted pepper shrimp, chicken wings, pho and their steak bites.

Unfortunately this place hasn't improved. I went here to try their food again after having their pho a few years ago. This place has become more of a bar than a restaurant. They don't seem to like it when you're not there to drink alcohol. The chicken skewers had an off taste/odor to them, almost like they were past their use by date. The egg rolls and salt and pepper shrimp were ok, but you would probably get a better version of them at another restaurant. The steak tips were pretty good. Ordered here for the first time the other evening through Uber Eats. Flavors were decent but there certainly were some negative quirky discrepancies. I wanted a nice warm bowl of phó and my relative wanted Pad Thai. Although not really a Vietnamese dish it's amazing how many Vietnamese establishments go hybrid and offer Thai food, Japanese and Korean on their menus, seems to be a common thing around Portland. I've certainly had my fair share excellent ethnic foods from Portland to LA, and well ... LA still blows Portland out of the water when it comes to culinary excellence. I'm always surprised how Portland continues to disappoint when it comes to authentic ethnic cuisine. Unfortunately Gogo Pho Bar is another example of not quite getting it right. (Dish 1) The phó was your basic recipe, flavor was mild, nothing out of this world, but nothing terrible either. Just okay. All the usual sides were there along with a couple of big basil leaves that were half rotted, wasn't hard to miss, not sure why they didn't just pluck them off? Where they really dropped the ball was the portion size you get. Ordering online there wasn't a choice of a large or small bowl, what you get is a small bowl at large bowl price of $14 dollars with a protein. Even in a hard times economy a large bowl of phó shouldn't run more than $7-$10 dollars, there are even places around Portland who still manage to at least keep a more fair market price. Not only was the bowl portion small, but the meat to go with was about as skimpy as could be. I kept looking to see if they hid some more under the rice noodles or something. Nope! Guess this is one way to keep profits up. Yikes! (Dish 2) Typically when I want Pad Thai I'll order it from a Thai restaurant, but that's what my relative wanted, so that's what we ordered. The actual flavor of the entrée wasn't all that bad, not overly sweet nor salty, and the portion size was okay. Pad Thai seems to come in two versions, one where the noodles have an orange glaze color to them and is often sweet tasting, the other is lighter or clear in color and is sometimes less sweet tasting. Theirs is somewhere in between. But here's where the dish really fell apart. It was basically a plate of rice noodles with a semi-sweet salty light colored sauce coating them. Again, the chicken meat portion was practically non existent, just a few medium sized chunks! Nope, there wasn't anymore that was hiding under the noodles or fell out of the container. I've never seen such drastic skimping, ever. Small spoon full of chopped peanuts, bean sprouts on the side. No scallions, no eggs. On the order I chose mild, which was odd since most Pad Thai is mild anyways. Even stranger, they tossed in a bunch of sliced jalapeños into the dish. Again, this was a first, I've NEVER seen Pad Thai with jalapeños added, especially when the request was for mild. Who does this?! Gogo Pho Bar does! I tasted it and didn't find it all that spicy, but it was noticeable. My elderly relative found it to be too spicy. I ate half of it and added a fried egg and scallions to bump up the flavors a bit, much better. So much for hybrid Vietnamese Pad Thai. (3) Anytime I get food from a Vietnamese restaurant I haven't tried I always make sure to get a taste of their Banh Mi. So I ordered the standard grilled pork version. This was almost just right, flavor was good, bread was fresh, soft on the inside, crunchy on the outside, but it was a tad heavy on the shredded carrots and they were lumped along one side so it was impossible to take a bite and get a mixture of all the ingredients together unless you have an extra wide mouth. It was like take a bite on this side full of carrots, then take a bite on the opposite side to get the other fillings. As usual the meat portion was on the smaller side. Eee gads! $8-$10 dollars on an 8" inch French baguette is pretty much the norm around this city, of course theirs was on the higher priced side. All in all. Way too expensive for what you get. I have to wonder if they're trying to convert everyone to vegetarian with all the meat their saving by not putting it into their entrées? Flavors are okay, but nothing stellar or out of this world. For the last 5 years this restaurant has been one of my favorites. Their pho, the spicy beef noodle soup, and their boba tea taro smoothie are my favs. Family/small business owned. The people who frequent this spot are lovely. Come here to get some great soups and to enjoy some fun, lovely people. Gogo's is my place to go if I can't make it to Pho King. I live a 2 min walk from here. I do not recommend the chicken pad Thai (I actually got sick off of it) also, do not get the crab puffs, I could only eat the filling because the wonton wrapper was wayyyy to hard. I do recommend their pho though! It's pretty good but they do not give you enough meat, I got the super bowl and was really lacking meat. They are thin small pieces. That alone is 5 stars. Ken is very welcoming and actively tries to improve this place. Not ONLY is the service 5 stars the food has never disappointed. This is an extremely unique sort of place. I enjoy that it is right down the street from my house, and has a pretty large menu of goodies to choose from. With a bar and food and entertainment, the perfect place for someone like me to kick back and enjoy myself. I have yet to come for karaoke, looks like I will be doing that. You are blessed with choices here, from pho, to rice or noodle dishes, to the biggest burger ever! The food and drink variett interest me highly. They are really nice in here. Checking on my water and smiling, being very courteous and chill. The environment is spacious and clean, with a seperate bar from the restaurant. Not the same very bland soup taste so water down and Luke warm and can't get in Bar!! Yakisoba noodles had not much sauce on them very dry. Burger was so light color no sear on it and was to be well done. Staff not up front so we all had to wait awhile even a guy waiting for his take out order that was on table not under heat lamp. I firmly believe that lots of the people writing poorer reviews don't understand our food systems in this country. This place uses high quality never frozen beef. yes, this means the food will cost more, but that is good. Good for you, the consumer, good for the farmer (who must be local), good for the country (less traffic from trucks, less oil used to bring some beef all the way across the country), and I could go on, but I won't. Let's just say that I firmly agree that buying local is the cornerstone of our economic recovery. They cook the food ... AFTER you order it. until then it's literally resting in the fridge... not half-way cooked or some other nonsense, but actually uncooked. The ambiance is odd. I completely agree. The 'condiment' bar is AWESOME. every burger comes with as much salad fixings as you like. Yes, you can go back, grab a fork and eat a salad as part of your meal. They have Sweet Potato fries. If you dont like sweet potatoes don't order these. Leave more for me (more properly my wife actually). She loves them. My girlfriend and I walked in here to have some food and she ordered a burger and I got the pad Thai and we also got an appetizer, my food came first then 5 minutes later came the appetizer and close to 10 minutes after that she received her food, burger was mediocre but my pad Thai was just horrible, noodles were over cooked and over fried or something and they stuck together with a bad flavor, I couldn't eat it, I told the waiter that it's bad and showed him and he just took 5 dollars off my bill, service is not good here and I wouldn't recommend anyone to waste your money here. read more

First impressions upon entering were definitely not positive when we arrived on a Sunday brunch hour. First strike: employee who turned out to be the only server on deck was right in front of the main door smoking, in direct violation of Oregon law (ten feet from any building entrance). Second strike: server had a hell of a time actually understanding our questions about the food (nearly 3 minutes of trying to explain what I mean by 'what veggies come with the dish and can it be prepared without), and understanding that when we said we wanted to order our drinks first, it didn't mean to immediately walk away. Also, refills during the meal only came once we flagged him down. The food comes from two menus, Noodle and Burger. If your table orders from both, they have different kitchens, so expect your table to be served in shifts. The pho is decent, although the broth is a bit weak. I had the chicken, which was effectively tasteless. The portions, however, were generous for the price. The burger meat is clearly fresh, not frozen, but very little actual seasoning goes into it. It may be due more to the layout, but having the condiment bar away from the tables is an odd choice. Overall, it wasn't a horrible experience, but I've no intention of returning in the near future. read more

I have been wanting to try out the Burgers here and finally today it occurred. My son and I hit this place up and we even got to enjoy someone attempting the GoGo Challenge. Check out their web site on what is entailed. I had the GoGo Bacon Cheese Burger with Mushrooms and my son had the Aloha Burger. A side of fresh cut fries and beer battered Onion rings and we were in heaven. The patties are fresh not frozen. They have a condiment bar which was clean and fresh. The bun was a little dry .. likely because it was grilled .. I am not a fan of grilled buns. But I got passed that. We completely enjoyed the fresh and moist burger. You should GoGo to GoGo's. Ok kids this is the new go to place! I have finally found a place that I can get my pho fix with Asian chicken wings and my wife can have ether a burger or seafood and we are both happy. This is the place gogo burgers and Pho! Yep I said it out loud burgers and pho in the same place what a thought. First off the Pho here is way solid great beef flavor and nice large portion. The wings are done right with the sticky spicy fish sauce coming in right on target. My wife had the salmon burger and it was great, not breaded but just a nice salmon patty and sizzle fried.
