We just finished a very large backyard project with a vanishing-edge pool on the side of a hill. To complete the pool, we needed to install fencing around the perimeter of the property that would satisfy a very challenging county inspector. This was extremely difficult due to the topography having natural brushes, shrubs, boulders and changing elevation, all of which was mainly being installed on a slope. Keep in mind that there can be no gaps at the bottom of the fence. John @ Canyon Fence made a short order of this. His work is impeccable and his attention to detail was awesome. Many times, he would ask or provide options on how I would like to navigate some of the challenges. Not many installers would take the time to do this! We're building a pool and needed to have a fence installed prior to final inspection. Canyon Fence was recommended to us, so we called John to come out and give us an estimate. Not only was his estimate reasonable, but he helped us come up with creative fencing solutions (our yard has many boulders and trees around the pool area, which made it difficult to plan a fence that would pass inspection). John was great at communicating his availability (which was weeks sooner than other fencing companies) and installed the entire fence in just 2 days. It looks fantastic! Part 1 of 2 It is my pleasure, as a home owner, to write a positive rating for Canyon Fence. Mr. Jessee has been very patient and understanding with us trying to coordinate multiple neighbors and general contractor schedules. The removal of the old fence, that was falling down, and installation of the new fence was quick. With pets on both side of us, they worked efficiently in getting the fences back up. Above all, the work was exceptional. Case in point, the old fence line barely had 3 or 4 inches of concrete. The new poles were dug down a full 2ft mostly by hand due to the rock. High strength concrete was use providing a quality footing. Each side was a straight line that any laser level would be proud of, even with uneven ground. Each metal pole was covered with a boxing section. Quality at an affordable price. Can't ask for much more. Once the house construction is completed, we will certainly have Canyon Fence back to complete Part 2 (The Gates) read more

About 2 years ago I had Canyon Fence replace the fence on a side of my house. Unfortunately, one of the fence posts started leaning. I called John several times and someone came out to fix the fence. The repair lasted about 6 months and started leaning once again. After repeated calls, John came out himself and not only replaced one post, but replaced 3 to ensure the repair was very well. John and his wife are very good people. I really appriciate that John came personally and did a great job repairing the fence. read more

If I could leave less than 1 star, I would. I used Canyon Fence 2 times previous, most recently was at least 10 years ago. I don't recall any problems. Fast forward to 2017. Using their on-line contact form I requested an appointment for an estimate. I was contacted the next day by Julia and an appointment was made for Friday, April 21, 2017 for 4:30pm. At 2:30pm I received a TEXT from Julia (lack of professionalism, in my opinion) saying that Mason, was running behind on bids, so could he come Sunday. I work nights, so late afternoons work best with my schedule. I was offered 2pm or 4pm. I chose 4pm, but never received a reply, Keeping in mind--all communication still being done via text. Sunday, 4pm came. Sunday, 4:20 came, so I texted Julia, asking if someone was still coming. It is now 7:30pm. I'm thinking no one is going to show up. No, I didn't wait around that long for anyone to bother to show up. Bottom line: DON'T BOTHER WITH CANYON FENCE. THEY CLEARLY DON'T NEED THE BUSINESS. I Wish I could give a higher rating because the fence does look awesome but the customer service is horrible. When they installed the fence, they broke water lines in 5 different places. Two were repaired at the time but they never returned to repair the others. The lights on my previous fence were not reinstalled. I had to pay over $400 to have the water lines repaired and the lights reinstalled. I gave them every opportunity to come and do the work but never had any response. I would never recommend these people to my enemy. read more

I had a 1/4 acre property done by John at Canyon including custom welding for two gates. Johns a local guy running his own company, so yeah, you don't get a corporate type of professionalism, but you don't get a corporate price either. Used Canyon 7 years ago to fence in the side of a house we had just moved into. We were happy with the work they did, so called them first for a quote when we wanted to put two large gates in the same fence to park an RV. Called on a Friday and made an appointment for Monday morning at 8:30. Monday rolled around. I had a tight schedule that morning, so I called at 8:35 when no one had arrived yet. Part of our fence blew down with the high winds in February, as did many others in San Diego. Business was booming for the fence companies and it was difficult to get estimates. After acting interested, three of the companies declined the job...too busy, too hard, bad knees etc., one just didn't get back to me. My project was not easy, there are some tricky elevations and many steps to go up to get to the backyard.
