Our family has been using this clinic for several years. They are welcoming, attentive, and we have been pleased with their services. Dr Sharma is super nice and fun to talk to during the appointments. My son went from glasses to night time contacts, something no one else had ever suggested. They are a progressive clinic and Dr is very knowledgeable. Today went to pick up our glasses and of course my glasses came in the wrong color. Refused to refund glasses which caused dizziness and severe nausea. We clearly told the clinic that we did NOT want anti-glare or any special coatings, which they ignored. When I went in to request a refund, they admitted that the bifocals were in the wrong spot, but still refused to issue a refund, and also refused to give me a copy of the paperwork for the order. The frames also did not fit my face properly. I will be contacting my insurance as well as my bank, and am in the process of contacting the Better Business Bureau. read more

The staff here is very helpful. The doctors are caring and thorough. We've been coming here for 3 years and are extremely happy with the service we've been provided. Today I went in with a broken nose pad. They didn't have the same style as my original so they replaced both nose pads at no charge. I was in and out in 15 minutes. VERY not friendly staff. I had a few questions and I got no help. She seemed bothered and dismissed me with short answers or no answer. No one in our family wore glasses before so this was our first experience getting my daughter her first pair of glasses. One of the things I asked was a suggestion, or her own opinion about what size or frame would fit better for my daughter's face shape, since we were new to it. All I got was a dismissive answer as "it doesn't matter, whatever she likes." My daughter ended up not liking her glasses when it was too late. First of all they didn't fit her face shape, second, they stayed at a distance from her face, sticking out too much, because when she tried them first time she was wearing a mask and in the few seconds she had when she took her mask off to see how they look, she didn't notice that. What a bad first experience! I didn't mention, this was last year. Bothell Community FB page was very helpful and we found a new place near downtown Bothell, recommended by a lot of people. Today we had our first visit and what a difference! So friendly and helpful staff from the moment we entered the door. So happy we moved! Dr Sharma is the best, friendly, knowledgeable great bedside manner. We have been with them for several years. The negative, which is why we are leaving their practice, is either her husband or brother. All the designer frames have broken. 4 of them. He fixed one with no complaint. The same thing happened again. He said it was probably my fault, and I was not putting my glasses on correctly. The receptionist was very friendly and courteous, explaining the frame I had looked a little wonky. It appears to me he does not have any people skills. We tried using their service for the first time for standard eye check up and pair of glasses each. We found the service to be very pricy. Although our insurance paid for the services, we were shocked that for each family member the costs of standard check up and eye lenses with usual anti reflecting coating and transition lenses were more than $1000 per person. This was what the insurance was covering. On top of that, we paid additional $888 out of our own pocket. Naturally concerned that there may be overpayment or duplication of charges, we requested to be provided for the itemized billing for the $888 we spent. The office manager was very nasty and sarcastic and implied that we should not be questioning the costs of the items or potentially seek out locations where we would be able to afford the rates. Such rude behavior and insulting attitude towards customers as well as the potential overcharging for services makes me warn other potential customers not to use the services of the clinic. The eyeglasses for which I have paid so much money are not out of ordinary in any way, the frames that cost over $300 are not exactly making a fashion statement and we have had to get my husband's eyeglasses done again!! Nope. Went here for a routine eye exam. They larded a bunch of diagnoses onto it assuring me they would fit into my free routine eye exam that I get with my insurance. At the end of said exam, doctor refused to fill me a prescription, which was the whole point of coming in. A year later, I get a bill for $91 about the photography etc they used. Forget it. Go elsewhere. You can do better. read more

They can't even do the eye test right! My son had eye test done with new prescription. We got new glasses, but he felt not clear. Check with the shop, told to check with the Costco. It was done as it was prescribed. Check with the shop again, told the height was not right., blaming the Costco again. We finally went to other eye doctor, got completely different prescriptions. I cannot understand all these negative reviews. My experience in the last 5 or 6 years, seeing Dr. Sharma, has been nothing short of kind, caring, and professional. And I had various issues, including surgeries, cataract repair, purchases of eye wear, and routine exams... all of them convincing me that I wouldn't want to go anywhere else for my eye care. I find the staff courteous and accommodating, with friendly interaction (Thank you, Sarah!). There were emergency situations when I was seen immediately (no appointment), and Dr. Sharma even called my home to check how I was doing. Couldn't find the place because the sign out front says "Vision Clinic," not Alderwood Optical. Finally found it only to be wrongly scheduled. The place was empty, small and unfriendly. This is my 30th year at going to this practice. After moving 3 years ago, they've somehow lost my address and sent my new contacts to my old address. Now under new management (Dr. Barton was fantastic), Dr. Sharma's new practice is to blame me for not updating my address for 3 years (LIE) and then have the gall to tell me the old office manager didn't charge me correctly and I have a balance due!! For contacts I never received!! I guess when the mistake is to have me owe more money THEY are correct, but when it's obvious they screwed up on my address it's MY fault. IRONY: MY INSURANCE COMPANY WILLINGLY SENT ME OUT NEW CONTACTS WITH ONE PHONE CALL!! When does an insurance company ever come out the good guy over the DOCTOR!! That should tell you something!! I went there with my 2 kids. I did not like it at all. I asked some questions regarding my kids eyes but Dr. Sharma did not bother to answer. I would not recommend this clinic for kids. My experience with them is not good, its not kid friendly, this clinic in my opinion is better for adults. Also when we were done with our appointment, we were led to a different part of the clinic where they were forcibly trying to make us buy their glasses and they were saying that no other place would give as as much selection as they could, even though they had an extremely small variety. read more

I visited Dr Sharma since I was having a lot of eye allergies and needed a new contact prescription. Her and her staff were very caring and professional. It was very hard for me to pick up my contacts and we were traveling soon so they brought it to me outside to my car (my toddler was having a tantrum) and my baby was crying at the time so they really saved the day! I took my father here after speaking to them on the phone and going in for our first visit which was just informational at the time and they were very helpful and fit us into a busy schedule in the spot... but then after getting all the info and asking over and over again to reassure my father what would be covered and what wouldn't be so we could figure out our bet route, and were told to make another appointment after some prescribed eye dropped were given... again asking if everything was included or we would have to pay something else ( which was fine but we just wanted to know), we were told no multiple times that his insurance would cover everything so far and the only worry or thing we would need to pay for would depend on the lenses and frames that were chosen... well, it's been a few months now and we still haven't chosen lenses or frames because we were hit with a $300 ish bill that wasn't covered by insurance and they are saying they told us all the info up front.! This place has a huge language and understanding barrier and straight lies about the services that are covered and it's too late by the time you figure it out! read more

I really wish I would have read the reviews on here before I spent so much money at this poor excuse for a vision clinic. I will not bore you with the details of my visit as I have the almost exact same complaints as others that have posted here. I did find Dr. Kim very pleasant and professional. There is not one other nice thing I can say about this clinic. I left there with a pair of glasses I can not use and I will have to wear my old glasses for another year. I spent $ 423 of my own money $ 494 of my insurance companies money for glasses I can not use. How discusting is that? Dr. Barton and the staff he had there years ago were great! After many years of happily seeing Dr Barton it was time for an eye exam and new glasses so I made an appointment with Dr Sharma. My eye exam/interaction with her was brief but pleasant. My problems started with trying to purchase glasses. This was the worst experience I've ever had in the over 30 years I've been purchasing glasses. I explained to the optician that in the past staff always helped me pick out glasses that looked good on me and fit me well. I asked if she would help me do this. After trying on a bunch of pairs I settled on a pair that I was assured looked good and fit the bridge of my nose properly. I also discussed with her what features my vision plan covered with no additional cost. I was told the thinnest lenses were covered along with various other options. When I left I got no receipt stating the cost of my glasses or features covered by my plan. When my glasses came in they didn't fit and were too large for the bridge of my nose. When I expressed my concern, the optician said she told me they might be too large on the bridge of my nose. This isn't accurate because I specifically asked her when ordering if they were a good fit for my narrow nose bridge. I was assured that they were a good fit I never even took these glasses out of the office. I didn't appreciate the blaming tone. I called my vision insurance and discussed that I didn't feel that my needs were able to be met at this office and that I would like to go somewhere else. My vision insurance called the office and they assured them that they had glasses in mind and could fit me, so I agreed to go back. Once again we picked out glasses the optician said fit me properly with the same covered features as the first pair. The new frames were the same price as the first pair of glasses and the optician confirmed the cost and features would be the same as the first pair. I also expressed my concern about what if this second pair of glasses didn't fit properly, Once again no receipt. A week later, I called to see when my glasses would be in. I was told the cost would be over $100 more than I was originally quoted . When I questioned the optician she said they heard from my vision plan that the thinnest lenses I got on my first pair of glasses were not covered. This seemed funny to me as they were covered on the first pair of glasses I got. I was told when I picked glasses out the second time that these lenses were covered. I was not happy because i felt it was her responsibility to know what was covered or not. During this discussion I thought we should compromise since it was her error. It was agreed that I could get the same thinnest lenses I had on the first glasses and I would pay some but not the full approx $100 more. When I came to pick up my second pair of glasses there was distortion in my left lens and the glasses wouldn't stay up on the bridge of my nose. Optician adjusted the frame. I also noticed that the width of the lenses looked much wider than my first pair of glasses. When I questioned the optician she said it was because the lenses were larger than the first pair of glasses, which I thought was odd. I then said I would try the glasses and get back to her on how they worked out. I paid and went to the nearby grocery and had to go back because the glasses wouldn't stay up on my nose. Optician again adjusted the glasses. I tried the glasses and contacted them back letting them know that the the fit of the glasses still wasn't working, they wouldn't stay up on my nose, they felt heavy and the left lens was still distorted. I was concerned because there was no way I could wear these glasses for the next year, I was called back by the optician and it came out that she told the lab to put in different lenses that were thicker than I had in my first pair of glasses and were not the thinnest lenses we agreed upon when I said I would pay extra. I was told in a condescending tone that I shouldn't expect to get something for nothing. I was told that they wouldn't give me a refund or do anything else to help me except adjust my glasses again which had already been done. So now I have paid out $200 in co pays and have a pair of glasses I can't wear. Canyon Park Vision is unwilling to make sure I have a pair of glasses that work for me. If you are a professional in the vision industry you should be able to properly fit someone in glasses and know what is covered by the vision plans. I asked to have the owner/mgr of the clinic call me.several times and haven't heard from him. Almost any business can be satisfactory if you don't have a problem. The sign of a good business is how they work with customers to make things right. I'm sure it goes without saying that I won't be returning to Canyon Park Vision Clinic. I have since been to two vision clinics that have tested and confirmed the distortion in my left lens and agreed that the glasses don't fit the bridge of my nose properly. read more

I saw Dr Barton for 20 happy patient relationship years. Since the business was sold to Dr. Sharma few things have gone well. I have never worn the 1st pair of glasses they made for me. I need a narrower frame, which they had very few of. Dr. Barton's staff was honest about frames that did not fit well and did a special order for ones I loved. Dr Sharma's staff sold me a frame that was a 51 (I need 49) saying they looked great- and neglected to mention that the nose part of the frame was an additional 2 mm larger than my current frames. When I brought them in the next year and showed them how much too large they were the opticians husband mostly ignored what I was saying. When I went in for my exam and told Dr Sharma the same, her response was that the color of the frames matched my top. I purchased lovely smaller frames from a large selection at another optical. Dr. Sharma's husband measured the segment height (where the middle of my eye is on the frame). My medical insurance (which pays more and has a deductible that my vision insurance does not have) was billed for the exam without my knowledge or consent. When I received the glasses the new lenses did not work- so I asked that we go back to my old (Dr Barton) prescription. Sara (who no longer works there) measured a much different segment height than Dr. Sharma's husband had. The lenses worked better, but I had difficulty reading my computer screen at work. When I went back in Dr. Sharma's husband sat me at a table and commented that I was "sensitive". Then he asked me to wait while he helped another patient. He later spent 5 minutes with me and asked me to wait again while he fitted another patient. I asked the receptionist if I could work with someone not so dismissive and invalidating. My appointment with Jazzy at the Alderwood clinic went well. She was thorough, respectful and knowledgeable. We decided to go back to the 1st prescription with Sara's correct segment measurement-that Jazzy verified. I went to Canyon Park yesterday to pick up the new lenses. They were given to me by Dr Sharma's husband along with a paper (that had the lens prescription on) which he asked me to sign. After I did I asked for a copy- and he refused. I explained that I always got a copy of anything I signed and he responded that the paper was his "intellectual property" and again refused. I gave the lenses back and tore off the top corner of the paper with my signature. I called my insurance company and explained the situation. After speaking with them he agreed to provide a paper I could sign and receive a copy of. Then he sat down and began fitting another customer, leaving me standing there with no explanation. read more

Do not go to Canyon Park Vision Clinic!!! I think this was the worst experience I have ever had at the eye Dr. I should have looked on here before ever going there. The Dr couldn't get my prescription right to save her soul. Literally they changed the RX four different times and still I couldn't see out of them. All I needed was single vision readers and the Dr insisted on telling me I needed fancy readers for the computer as well. I explained to her that no I don't do well with progressives and that's not what I wanted. She insisted not listening to me and that's what was made for me. I did not like them and did not take them home, so this went on 3 more times and none of the glasses that were made for me worked. I literally couldn't see out of them, it was like my eyes were pulling out of the sockets when I put them on. Keep in mind it's not my job as the patient to get my prescription right it's the Dr.'s job. The front staff was so rude to me when I was unhappy with my glasses, one of them actually told me I just need to get used to them. I have had reading glasses for years and not once when getting a new pair did I ever have to get used to them. Usually you put them on and it's like a miracle I can see! Not at CPV no they just want you to take what they give you right or wrong, well not me. I ended up contacting my insurance co who is awesome they called the Dr and let them know I was not satisfied, the office didn't offer to refund my out of pocket expense so my insurance co did. They reinstated my benefits and got me into another eye Dr so I could get a pair of glasses that I could finally see out of. You can make your own decision about this place but I wouldn't trust them with my vision. I have never been treated so badly at a Dr. office in my life very unprofessional, they could have cared less if my glasses were right. read more

I had the same experience. After over ten years of seeing Dr. Barton after the first visit with Dr. Sharma I called them about my prescription being written incorrectly they asked me if I wanted to pay my balance over the phone. As far as I knew I didn't have a balance and when I asked if they sent me a bill they say they did. I asked them to confirm my information they had a very old work number and the wrong address on file. Haven't gone back and then recently received a follow up letter saying essentially that Dr. Barton had entrusted me as his patients with Dr. Sharma's care and that I needed to make an appointment. The staff at Canyon Park Vision Clinic was very patient and helpful when i came to my lack of knowledge regarding my insurance. They called and got my benefits with a smile. The optician helped me enthusiastically pick out glasses and made me feel like i was a priority for them. I got a lot of feedback when picking out frames and it was a fun experience (i usually hate going to pick out glasses). The staff even put some frames on hold for me because i had to get back to work. The Doctor was very nice and knowledgeable and i even enjoyed getting poked in the eye :). I have gone to Dr Barton for ten years. The new practice is now run by Dr Sharma - and what a dive it has taken! I currently attend grad school out of the country so required a quick turnaround on new contacts. After having a 'contact fitting' for which I wasn't told there would be a $40 charge (free with Dr Barton), I called to tell them that the new contacts didn't work and that I would prefer to go back to my old lenses. Since this initial call I have called three more times and they have refused to give me my prescription or even call me back (!) stating that they need special approval from the doctor, BUT they have done absolutely nothing to get my prescription approved by the doctor. Now it is three business days until I leave and no prescription. Absolutely outrageous. I will never go back to Canyon Park Vision Clinic. read more

Dr Sharma is now Canyon Park Vision Clinic. I was very disappointed with my first visit with Dr Sharma . Very unfriendly and did not seem to listen to my concerns. When I returned to pick up my new glasses they were blurry and hard to see through. I was told my eyes needed to adjust to them. Just give it time... I have taken my glasses back for the third time. Hopefully this time the right prescription will be used and I will be able to use my new glasses. The support staff is awesome, but that does not make up for the return trips to rework my glasses. Wa My family saw Dr Barton at this location for 12 years. He has since retired. Amazing how things change. We will be searching for a new Optometrist after this experience.
