Fantastic place for a relaxing weekend getaway! I have gone several times and look forward to my next trip! It's an easy 2ish hour drive from Boston and a true oasis away from the city. The employees are wonderful and welcoming. The food is amazingly delicious, organic, and much of it is local. Everything is well portioned so that you can maintain a healthy diet and there is plenty of fresh fruit to snack on through out your day. The packages give a good sized allowance for services and there are also plenty of free activities that you can sign up for. The massages cannot be beat. You will not find a better massage anywhere else. Lastly, the indoor pool is gorgeous with relaxing music playing in the background. This resort is definitely pricey. I always check online for any specials and/or book during their off season to save. Highly recommended! read more

Our family has been coming here for 22 years. We went as a couple and now with our adult children and we all honor the experience and the transformation we feel here with each visit. The environment allows for instantaneous relaxation. It smells of aromatherapy and spa food. We love walking down the halls with the beautiful artwork and friendly faces. It is a luxury to be there and feel like we are doing something great for ourselves and for our longevity. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable regarding our concerns each year. Canyon Ranch is a health resort like no other. It's not a ranch at all. They offer every kind of exercise class you can imagine along with all sorts of outdoor hikes, bikes, trail walks, etc. The outdoor choices change depending on the season. You can listen to a lecture, paint, enjoy low-key evening activities, get luscious spa treatments, see a therapist, get a sleep study done, learn to cook, and the list goes on. The food is dreamy. Doctors on staff are very attentive and nice, view is great and the place is set up beautifully. Spa staff was unorganized and I was forgotten after making an appointment I waited over an hour and they claimed I wasn't there when I surely was, the manager apologized though. Most of the women there seem to have attitude problems, the men were very nice except for the old bald douchebag at the main building, not sure what his problem was but hes probably tired of dealing with self absorbed shallow bitches all day. Honestly because of the rude stuck up behavior of other people, I was very happy to get the hell out of there. Stay humble people, most of you women married your money anyway and it can be gone in a second. Went to the canyon ranch as a part of the culinary club today had a lovely tour with will the food a beverage director got to sit down for a 5 star lunch with fresh indigents sourced mostly in ma I was also impressed at how the executive chef took time out of his day and meant us I know that meant a lot to us . Also would like to recognize Ivan I took a dining room class last year and Ivan blew us out of the water giving us extra cookies and by serving with a smile I think he's amazing even took 10 mins to explain the menu overall I would go back in a heartbeat thank you and hats off to canyon ranch for allowing us to come in get a guided tour and eat :) With thanks Joseph Yanklowitz read more

My sisters, Mom, and I had a great weekend in Canyon Ranch and all left feeling extremely rejuvenated and re-centered. This is my second trip to CR Lenox. The lectures on health, wellness, mind-body connections, and spirituality I think are what separates Canyon Ranch from other Health Spas/resorts. The clinicians/practitioners are so incredibly knowledge and are great at disseminating knowledge and information in a digestible way. The spa services, medical treatments and consultations, and alternative treatments are top-notch. Brian, the neuromuscular therapist, is excellent. Equally as impressive was Mark who did acupuncture to improve my back pain. If you have illnesses or ailments and are unsatisfied with the western medicine approach, canyon ranch is the place for you. Cindy Geyer, Mark Lioponis, and the whole medical team is amazing. For example, they cured me of chronic sinus infections and high cortisol by discovering a dairy allergy. The food is excellent but it does not change appreciably from day to day which is a little surprising. It's delicious nonetheless. The decor, furniture, etc are getting a needed modernization and what they have done so far looks great! The biggest area in need of improvement: fitness classes. I am a bit spoiled and attend regular Exhale Core Fusion Barre, Pure Barre, Flywheel, and Soul Cycle so I know my expectations are high. Unfortunately I wasn't wowed with the barre and spinning classes at Canyon Ranch. They were fine, but with how much a stay at Canyon Ranch costs, I expect the quality to compete with boutique fitness classes. On the other hand, all of the yoga and Pilates classes were great. Some of the instructors for fitness classes are outstanding and bring fresh positive energy but one or two instructors I found a little cold. Faye in reservations was a bit challenging but issues were resolved eventually. Overall a 4.5 star experience at a 5 star place! We'll be back!! read more

This is a beautiful resort, with a great variety of classes. However, I did not find the classes to be very challenging and the resort seemed empty. In two classes, my daughter and I were the only participants. Today, I was dying to do the afternoon scheduled bike ride, but it was canceled. The reason given for the cancellation was "lack of interest." When I explained that I was interested in participating, they refused to reinstate the class and said the bike guide had been reassigned to another activity. The "cardio tennis" tennis class was just bunch of backhands and forehand's. Should have been called "tennis drills." Massages were mediocre. Food portions are incredibly small, although you can eat as many entrees as you want. read more

My grandparents have been taking my family here for a summer vacation for years. It is such a pristine, happy place!! We go as a family and eat breakfast and dinner together in the fabulous dining room but spend the day participating in our own classes and services. The massages here are stellar and the fitness classes are really fun! There are no cell phones allowed in most areas so it is nice and quiet and just very serene. I will say that the "healthy meals" aren't really that healthy although they are nicely portion controlled :) Definitely a great little retreat from real life! read more

I came here with my daughter a few weeks ago--both of us had a great experience. There are many wonderful activities for people of all ages. I concentrated on yoga, stretching, and cardio classes. My daughter spent time doing pilates, zumba, and hiking. The lectures we attended were excellent. There was a comedian one evening, who was quite entertaining. My daughter and I both enjoyed the food-- portions weren't huge like you get in many restaurants, but we both left meals satisfied and not craving more. Spa services were excellent as well. Both my daughter and I had massages and facials. I also did metabolic testing and met with a physician, exercise physiologist and nutritionist. I went home with a great fitness plan that I can easily follow. Each of the professionals that I met was knowledgeable and imparted excellent advice. There was a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere throughout the facility. We'll definitely go back next year. read more

I have wanted to go to Canyon Ranch for a long time (okay, since my younger sister got to go a few years ago). It was worth the wait -- Canyon Ranch is just about everything it promises to be. There are varied and highly enjoyable fitness classes at every level, the spa treatments are extensive, and the list goes on and on. The grounds are beautiful and expansive, nearby Lenox is appropriately adorable (although I didn't want to spend much time outside of the resort), and the food is both delicious AND actually good for you. The price tag is high, but this is an experience worth your hard-earned dough. I only hope I get to visit again! read more

What a fantastic three days I just spent at Canyon Ranch!! From the moment you arrive, you are made to feel completely taken care of. Your car is valeted, your bags are swept away to your room, you're greeted by lovely staff. Upon check in you're given your own water bottle with your name on it and tote bag to carry around with you every day (to put your seminar info and brochures in) and upon checking in at the spa you're given your own spa locker, robe, shower shoes that are yours for the duration. Your every convenience is considered. You feel settled and welcome very quickly. The food is outstanding, so healthy, and there's a huge variety. The exercise classes are so fun. We took nine over the course of 2.5 days, plus did two spa treatments each, attended three seminars (nutrition/gut health/science of weight loss) LOVED the steam room, and really appreciated how our program advisers were so accommodating and made things so easy for us. Thanks Matt and Teegan! I would totally recommend planning ahead for classes and services. (You can always change your mind when you get there and have the lay of the land.). Otherwise you won't get the most out of this truly wonderful experience. Totally recommend for anyone looking for self-renewal, relaxation, health rejuvenation, and/or a fitness-centered experience. read more

I can't believe I'm the first to write a review for Canyon Ranch. This place is really fabulous. I took my mom there in March. I was a bit nervous. I was expecting a bunch of size 0 Upper East side / East Hampton types to be gazelling around. Instead the place was populated with normal people trying to get away. My mom and I did totally different things there: she was visiting nurses and going to easy going exercise and walking classes; I was stressed out from a job search and recent break-up so did all the energy healing, yin yoga, psychic things I could sign up for. Having oil poured on my 3rd eye steadily for 30 minutes was probably the oddest thing I did, but I just went with it. They have so many activities that it's a guarantee that you'll be able to customize a stay just for you. And the staff is so incredibly nice. My mom hadn't been to an exercise class in years and the lead instructors would see her, hand the class over to the assistant and stand by my mom showing her how to modify the exercises so she felt comfortable. One night by the fire we started talking to this lovely French woman who turned out to be a Holocaust survivor who had been hidden by a French family with her brother. We talked for hours and learned so much. Very interesting clientele. We'd go back in a heartbeat. I just got to find a company to IPO or a lottery to win in order to do it. read more

Beautiful place with excellent food. A fair amount of activities are offered throughout the day (while some are included in the package many do require an additional cost). Some of the exercise classes were fabulous and some not so good. Evening activities are light. When I was there they were doing some renovations so there was no air condition in some of the lecture rooms and demonstration kitchen and the rooms were stifling (also no air condition in the long hallways, which was awful given the recent heat). Indoor and outdoor pools are a good size and outside of the swim aerobic classes seemed barely used. read more

The wallpaper was peeling a little, the refrigerator didn't work properly and the grout in the bathroom needed a good cleaning. Interesting that the Yelp 2-star rating is labeled "Meh. I've experienced better." I have experienced better and it was on my first two visits to Canyon Ranch in Lenox. It's a beautiful property but what set it apart from other luxury lodgings was the fabulous customer service. You spend a lot (a whole lot!) to stay here but that was always money well spent as I felt pampered, respected, and rejuvenated before. Something changed when we made visit #3 in April, 2015, and not for the better. Classes are crowded, 2 spiritual sessions requested that were still online and in the catalog were no longer offered, food allergies were not noted or honored, an accident on a treadmill was not attended to and few people on staff even smiled! Again, it was still a lovely setting and some sessions and classes were terrific-try to book something spiritual and don't miss the drumming class-but don't expect to be wowed by your customer service experience. Most alarmingly, if you DO have a complaint, don't expect great management response; our letter after our disappointing trip resulted in an insulting (and almost 2 month later!) response from the Lenox GM and a subsequent letter sent to the Tuscon CEO elicited no response at all-no phone call, no letter, not even an email. Sadly, Canyon Ranch in Lenox is not what it used to be and that is a shame. read more

I LOVE this place, now been five times here with my family and once in Tucson with gal pals. I love the setting in the Berkshires, the warmth of the staff, the cleanliness of all rooms and equipment; the classes for exercising inside, activities during the day outside such as morning walks and hikes and painting and canoeing, not enough time in the day, plus mostly good lectures--one so-so but hey. There's also good food, gotten so much better with the new chef, gorgeous views, warm friendly guests who say hello and are eager to share laughs and whines during tougher classes like spinning. The town is charming if you have time. Only other criticism--not enough to do at night but we're usually so exhausted we don't mind and in summer we go to see the Sheakespeare performances across the road. We can't wait to come back, great for family celebrations, reunions, visits with friends, gals' weekends. Last time we even saw more men! I can't say enough good things about everything here. Only wish I could stay longer and that iwas less costly so I could come more! And we never thought we were "spa people." Ha! Those facials and pedicures, divine. We always hate to leave since we feel we've died and gone to heaven. read more
