This might be a longer post, but it's honest for my experience with Canyon View Ranch. From the start everyone seemed very friendly, especially Tyler. He was extremely informative and incredibly sweet. He had given me the run down of all the policies and what it would be like during my dogs stay. I had so much trust in these people after already being nervous (as I just moved here from Wisconsin, so finding a new person to watch over your fur baby is already stressful). Everything on the surface looks incredible, and I was wanting so badly to absolutely LOVE this facility. However, once I picked up my dog I had numerous issues flood me all at once that I was not expecting. Beginning with being charged $50 for a bath I was not aware of. NOW I will say that is probably my fault for not reading the fine print good enough, however I will say that someone should verbally tell you that after your dog stays with them for 2 days they automatically charge you $50 for a bath. Minor issue. But when I told them I was there to pick up my dog they were all surprised, as he was minutes away from being delivered to my house from their shuttle service. THANK GOD I got there when I did otherwise he would have been on his long day delivery to our house, which would have been their last stop (according to the owner). I'm not sure why they were so surprised when I checked the box on the paperwork stating that I did not want the shuttle service and that I would be there around 10:30am that morning to pick him up. When I first dropped off my dog I dropped him off with 2 one gallon ziplock bags full of his food, which I portioned out exactly what he should be getting each day. While also writing on his paperwork that he was to be fed 3 times a day, 1 cup each feeding. When they returned his food to me upon pickup they returned a half full bag of food left... meaning they only fed him twice a day!! When they weighed him upon arrival he was 85 pounds, and later when taking him to the vet, he weighed 80. He lost 5 pounds in 10 days in their care. When I got him in the car I could already tell there was something wrong. Before leaving the owner told me that they had a few cases of kennel cough, which is fine. I understand dog kennels can have that happen and that's why he's vaccinated, but he does still seem to pick it up easily. But when I got him in the car he looked visibly ill and stressed out. If they saw he was sick, I gave them permission to give him treatment and use my credit card to bill me. They did not. I got him home and the days after were horrendous. Not only did he for sure have kennel cough, he also was covered in hot spots, patches of hair loss and the worst of them all FLEAS! I had to completely spray my home, and get him treated for fleas. His temperature was 103.8 which is a fever in dogs and upon taking him to the vet they said he had a very severe case of kennel cough. Tyler told me they do body checks daily on dogs, but how could that be when they never noticed fleas and hair loss! They are quite obvious. So after spending $680 on boarding him, I had to spend hundreds of dollars on top of that just to treat him for fleas and with antibiotics and fluids. I have boarded my dog dozens of times and never had the severity of what he was delivered back to me. This was absolutely heartbreaking. I understand they are dogs, I understand that things can happen. Believe me, I've worked as a dog groomer as well as in an animal shelter. But this just seems like blatant carelessness. They didn't look over my dog, and they didn't get him the help he CLEARLY needed while in their care. The place is beautiful, and it seems others have had good experiences. We took our great uncle's German Shepherd "Sam" out for a few weeks stay that turned into 2 1/2 months due to family health problems. Our experience was nothing like the one star and two star people's experiences. We would drop by at various times throughout the stay and Sam was always clean, healthy and notably playing with the others. We also paid for obedience training to see if Canyon could "teach an old dog new tricks or behaviors" and 4 weeks of training proved so; Sam didn't lead the leash any longer, he didn't chase after small creatures. We the family also received training on how to best handle Sam. Unfortunately we had to admit our uncle to long term care and had to find a home for Sam; which ended up being a posh estate nestled in the Bel Air area complete with two other alpha German Shepherds. Canyon once again took the main alpha and over a week's time, introduced him to Sam and the crowd. This proved very successful when it came time for Sam to go into the new home of the other two. It's been some time now and they all get along. I'm not sure about the other comments and the lack of communication, but we did not have that experience. The kennels are for the night time sleeping arrangements. You want your dog safe and among a large group, dogs are not only safe from others, but also have their own den where they can sleep in safety. Although not a law by any means, it is rather common among boarding places, including your own vet. It's about protection of your pet and obviously protection from another owner's pet that might become aggressive and ultimately on the liability for the facility. And no, I'm not an owner, a friend of the owners here, and was not asked in any way to post a glowing commentary. My dog had really bad dog aggression problems and she pulled like crazy, after a couple of ugly bloody fights I was desperate for help so I came here. Since I knew my dogs history, my expectations were pretty low, I literally said, I just want to be able to walk my dog and pass other dogs without losing my arm, I don't care if she stays mean, I just want to able to walk her. Two weeks into the process Stephanie the trainer had my dog walking like a champion, around other dogs, and even playing!! I was so excited I get tears in my eyes just thinking about it. They trained her and us, we learn how to walk her properly, when to give corrections, etc. I can't give these guys enough praise, I went twice a week to see my girl and practice training. Even though they are pretty busy, every time I felt like I was their only client, Stephanie is the sweetest person, you can tell that the dogs don't fear her but respect her, it's pretty amazing to see her work. read more

After not being able to find a boarding option for my dog that allowed time outside in the sun (he LOVES sunbathing), I found CVR where I was able to not only board him while I was out of the country, but also work on training. Two years ago my fiance and I adopted our dog, Django, from a shelter. He was around 2 years old then and had been living on the streets for a while. Naturally, when we got him home he had a big transition to make and while he loved living in a home and getting fed like clockwork, his days on the streets made him very afraid of most people and somewhat aggressive toward other dogs. When we took him out he would pull on the leash and bark at any dog he saw or heard even if we had already walked away and were out of sight. He would cower when someone came to say hi to him or to pet him. It was not only embarrassing for us to be dragging a barking dog down the street but it was obviously a huge anxiety trigger for Django. We wanted to help him feel more comfortable and confident.... STEPHANIE W. steps on to the scene and Django went through the most AMAZING transformation in the 4 week on-leash program at Canyon View with her. Not only did he start walking right next to us, sitting and lying down on command, but he stopped fearing other dogs. She was absolutely amazing and built his confidence so much. We walked him around big dogs, little dogs, on leash dogs and off leash dogs and Django stayed pretty steadfast in his training. Not only did she train Django but she trained us, too. She made sure we knew that it would still take constant work from us and we finally feel like it's attainable. She gave us the tools we need to finally help him. Then when we left we stopped for lunch in Topanga Canyon where a big dog was completely off-leash and came right up to Django. In this situation we both would usually freak out and get in the car but instead, Django and the other dog greeted each other with some sniffs and without barking or pulling. It was bliss. From now on I will not get another dog without getting them trained with Stephanie. It's actually life changing. Hooray! Canyon View gets 5 stars from me. Their facility is great and lets the dogs get plenty of exercise and playtime with other dogs. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Django was not crate trained prior to going and I was a little nervous about him being in there at night but he did just fine. They said he barked at first but then he got used to it and knew it was his space to relax. Definitely spend the extra $25 to get them a bath as they are pretty grody at the end of their stay but that just means he was playing extra hard! 100% worth the money and the drive. YAY! read more

I've used Canyon View Ranch's month long training and boarding services. Positives: 1. Very accomodating with food/medicine preferences/needs. 2. Large play area and clean. 3. Dogs are on a strict schedule which keeps them on a nice routine and healthy while away from home. 4. Dogs are given rest time for digestion after meals which is great for larger dogs that are prone to bloat. 5. Actual training was great. My dog was very excitable and willful and is still very exuberant but definitely 80-90% better. We both continue to be a work in progress. Cons: 1. They are closed on Sundays and do not let you drop off or pick up your dog on Sundays but still force you to pay for Sunday. 2. I was under the impression my dog would be taken out on field trips for real life training during her month long boarding-training but this never happened and I was informed that they try to if they have time but don't always get to it. I thought their advertising/literature was a bit misleading around this topic. I would definitely recommend the training and boarding at Canyon View. I've recommended them to random dogowners I've met on the street who seem to have crazy misbehaved dogs. I had already done traditional training with my pup and felt it was too focused on treats/rewards. Canyon View trainers do use choke and/or prong collars which I was initially opposed to but my dog sticks her head out for me to put the collar on her when she sees it so clearly she isn't traumatized and responds well to a simple tug with a firm "no" when she misbehaves. Overall, the cons really annoy(ed) me but my dog's safety and health are my main priorities so I continue to fork out money I don't really have to give her the best possible care when I have to go out of town and can't find a dogsitter. read more

Canyon View Ranch is amazing! I was so nervous about leaving our puppy, Peppers, when we went out of town for Christmas. She gets very stressed out when we're not around and then has behavior problems. After researching a bunch of places, I decided Canyon View Ranch was the best. My fiance was so impressed when he took her for the walk through and saw the play and sleep areas. The bone shaped pools are adorable and the sleeping area is beautifully decorated and comfy. I dropped her off and was greeted by an office of warm, friendly, professional dog lovers. Still I was nervous about Peppers being away from us so long. I called the day after we dropped her off and got a full report on how much fun she was having. When I picked Peppers up today, she was the happiest I've ever seen her and, when she saw the Ranch's owner (who is just wonderful) she jumped right on him to give kisses. I am so pleased to have a safe and fun place to leave Peppers when we go out of town. We'll definitely be bringing her back. read more

This place is really really on the ball. Everyone there is very friendly and amazing with dogs. I brought my lab in for a long stay and some training. He had leash aggression and needed a little help getting back on the right track. The head trainer there is really great and helped me get the program really quick. Every time he stays here he has a ball. I pick him up and he's all smiles. I will definitly be bringing him back every time he needs a place to stay. read more

I'm sad to give this review because The trainer was very kind to me. But after my dogs coming home from staying there for 3 weeks. My dogs came home extremely sick. Diarrhea, cough, vomiting & etc. took them to the vet to find out they have Kennel Cough. When I called canyon view ranch to ask what happened and how they didn't catch this, they said they had no idea and to send them the bill from the vet and they would reimburse me because the dogs got it from their camp. I sent them the bill and never heard back. They have ignored every call, voice mail and email of mine. Had to spend almost 400$ on medication for my dogs and my dogs were extremely sick for 2 weeks.... very disappointed read more

I can't say enough about Canyon View. My dogs have now stayed there twice and each time they come home happy, healthy and exhausted. It was very hard for my husband and I to find the just the right place to board our kids because our oldest dog has issues. She is scared of all people ( we have been together three years now and she still isn't perfect with me, she's his dog) so our fear when we were going away for 16 days was that we would come back to a dog that was more terrified then before. From the first moment we walked into Canyon View for our meet and great Dustin made us feel completely at ease. He saw Daisy's fear right away and started telling us how we were holding her wrong or giving in to her fear with our body language. Unlike another boarder we went to who just walked away with our dog and didn't tell us what they were going to do. Dustin gave a break down of just how he would make Daisy feel at ease from the type of exercise and type of human and dog interaction, and that was just for the meet and great. He was so loving towards her, we just knew that she would be ok there. Jump ahead to coming home after leaving them there for 16 days. Daisy had lost a little weight, but that was excepted. She was nervous and didn't eat much at the beginning. But the dog who was scared of people received not just the 10 training sessions we had paid for, but tons of face time with people through out her whole stay. They kept her close to people to show her she was safe while still giving her hours and hours of play time. Daisy is now a different dog. Before she would run to the top of our hill in our backyard when any stranger came over and just bark till they left. Now she barks for one minute and after 20 minutes or so she'll come sniff them and maybe let them pet her. We owe it all to Dustin and Canyon View. Oh yeah, our other guy, who is just a normal hyper pup loves loves loves Canyon View too. read more

Our Vizsla girl Charlie has a few needs: outdoor space, lots of activity, kind and clear guidance. She found all of this at Canyon View. We have used this quiet, clean Dog Ranch for both boarding and training. You cannot go wrong with the boarding, the dogs get so much play time. But we are especially impressed with the training. Both Tyler and Uriel have helped Charlie to become a confident dog. Lately Uriel has been working with her. He has a special ability to connect with Charlie. It has been amazing to see her change and gain confidence as he guides her, with firm clarity and gentle understanding. He brings a mix of positive reinforcement and corrections when necessary, which works wonders. Charlie's tail is up, her eyes are clear, and she joyfully understands her place. Doggie boarding utopia for your pampered pooch This amazing, magical place will have you wishing you were a pooch, too. You'll first be surprised at the steep drive to get you to the top of the hill from Topanga Canyon Road but soon will see the that it overlooks a view of the ocean and surrounding ranches. Just driving up to the entrance you know it's worth the $50 per day to house your puppy while you are away. Canyon View Ranch features multiple areas to care for your doggy friend: 1. Small dog area includes Astroturf (helps with upkeep and totally safe for the dogs) with bridge over a small waterfall that leads to a small pond area and covered patio. 2. Big dog romp which includes AstroTurf, dog bone swimming pool, artificial climbing hills, trees for shade and constant supervision. 3. Indoor sleeping area for all dogs where each gets their own kennel and is kept constantly at 69 degrees. Note that the small dogs are able to go to the Big dog area after the big dogs are sent inside for lunch and to nap in their kennels. So everyone gets the full experience. Of course there are toys and lots of humans to play with not to mention dogs. But you can't just be any doggy. Go in advance to make sure your puppy passes the test to get along with all the others. We just got our dog back from Canyon View Ranch where she stayed for over a week. Though it's pricey, this place is worth it for the dog's sake. These guys aren't pulling any tricks, some other places I've tried out seem better at marketing than actually caring for the dogs. I almost got the sense that they didn't really care what I thought about the place, in a good way - like they were really secure with their product and their own competence, and nothing changes when a customer is around. When we walked up to the front office, unnoticed by staff, a staff member was out with the little dogs happily playing and talking in an adorable voice. I just get the best feeling from everyone there. The staff members are experienced trainers and all seem to love animals. It is pretty expensive though. Also the dogs are crated for a pretty significant portion of the day, according to the schedule that they send. Also I wish that there was a live webcam or updates like some of the other places have. But I think that those are just minor issues, I am still very happy. My dog came back happy and exhausted from running for 7 days. read more

OVERRPRICED AND DANGEROUS When they dropped off our beloved Janie, she was completely suffering from HEAT EXHAUSTION and IMPROPER CARE from being in a DANGEROUSLY HOT VAN. She was obviously suffering but the idiot driver tried to play it off when I inquired about her need for WATER. He was only worried about his tip. I've got a tip for you. Get a f**king CLUE! She drank her entire bowl of water as he stood there expecting a tip. WE'RE LUCKY SHE DID NOT DIE IN THEIR "CARE." Never again. KEEP YOUR DOGS AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!! We spent months of research reviewing different board and training programs for our 5 year old Goldendoode. His biggest struggles were socialization, over excitement, distractions/attention difficulty when other dogs and or numerous people are around and especially while on walks. We chose to enroll him at Canyon View Ranch for their 4 week board and training program. We were very apprehensive and nervous as sending your fur baby away for 28 days is a huge decision and we were unsure of how well our dog would do in a training program due to his age. However Canyon View Ranch is extremely thorough and honest in their entire process. The ranch located in the beautiful Topanga Canyon and is gorgeous, clean and serene. They scheduled us for an initial evaluation to see if our dog would be a good fit for their program which is great. They don't just accept anyone and everyone, they want to ensure they're not wasting your time and money. Once our dog was cleared to be accepted, we enrolled him right away for the program. Their communication with us was great, giving us a sense of ease and peace of mind knowing our dog was safe and in good hands. We were able to visit him during his stay at the ranch and have private lessons with their trainers to show us his progress. Each session we were blown away to see how amazing of an improvement and progress he was already showing! During the program, our dog was able to socialize with other dogs, have private lessons with the trainers and even socialize with their horses on site. They also offer unlimited private lessons post completion of the program in case your dog starts to regress! Our dog came back home happy, healthy and trained exactly as we had hoped and more. Their advertisement of a 100% guarantee for their on-leash program is 100% ACCURATE. Our dog is so well behaved and trained but has not lost his personality and spirit (which was one of our biggest concerns when looking into training programs). We are now able to take him to restaurants and public spaces with crowds, music, other dogs without any worries and because he's so well behaved, people ask us if he's been specially trained and we tell them all about Canyon View Ranch! Our only regret is why didn't we sign him up sooner?!? We could not be more grateful for Canyon View Ranch and their entire staff especially trainers Ciarra and Chris! They treated our dog like he was family. We will definitely have him board there when we travel in the future as we trust and know he is in great hands while there. We boarded our dog several times at Canyon View, until the last time. Our 7 pound dog was bitten by another dog. Canyon View released our dog to our friend without informing him of our pet's injury. When all was done, $200+ at the vet, and an apology from the owner, but no refund, or offer to pay for the medical expense. NEVER AGAIN. read more

I recently boarded and had my (now 9 month) old puppy here again and was happy to find my puppy healthy and happy. We worked with Manny again as our trainer and had to focus on the command of "come" and "stay" with our puppy. I have a lot of take home work I need to stay consistent on with the dog in order for his training to stick. Luckily, they allow review training sessions with you and your dog anytime!! This is a big plus. I see the value in that. read more

I have been bringing my four dogs to Canyonviewranch for many years and have had them participate in training as well. They are so well cared for and have a lot of personal time with their caregivers. I have called as often as I've wanted during their stays and been given detailed updates on them. The staff of Canyon view are passionate and knowledgeable and have always taken time to discuss the pups and give advice. It is extremely clean and my dogs always come home healthy and happy. You can also see your dogs on their Instagram. It is a pleasure knowing that our dogs are in the best place when we board them. Hands down 5 stars. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Canyon View Ranch. I brought my 2 dogs for the 4 week training program. They were scared, unsure, unhappy dogs. The bigger one had bitten the smaller one and my other small dog. I was so unhappy, I had tried individual trainers at great expense. Each week I was trained by Brian and learned how to help my dogs be the great dogs they were meant to be! My dogs came home totally happy, self confident and trained. I look forward each day to walking them and working on their skills. I wish I had known about Canyon View Ranch years ago! Everyone there has been so kind and helpful and supportive. Our 4 yr old German Shepherd just completed CVR's 28 day training and boarding program and the results have been nothing short of amazing. When we found her, she had been in a shelter for at least 8 months which was pretty traumatic. Manuel - who seriously is the best trainer I've ever encountered - was able to intuitively understand what was causing Ellie so much anxiety. Although it was hard not to see her for 3 weeks (normally it's 2 but we had to go out of town) before we had our first training session (Manuel trained us - not her!), it was worth it. Pros: Everything - an amazing staff - Sammie and Dustin especially. It's very apparent that the staff take an active interest in every dog's well being. Cons: Nothing. What's been even more amazing is the effect it's had on our other 2 dogs - both of which are much older. One went through training years ago and was immediately responsive to the training Manuel did with us. I guess the ultimate test was Ellie's first night home. Usually when a delivery person comes to the door, all 3 of the dogs freak out. All it took was one "uh uh" and Ellie immediately came over to me because she knew it was safe. read more

A colleague of mine suggested I bring my dog here for the 3 weeks that I was working an event. I checked it out and I liked it. I did check the Yelp! reviews and some of them scared me, but you have to take them with a grain of salt. Anyway, things went well. My dog did end up with an infection (UTI) which she most likely had prior to arriving (it's not contagious) and the staff were on top of their game when it came to my dog. They would call me and give me updates and ask questions like "she's drinking a lot of water, is that normal for her? etc." Since I have an 11 year old small dog, what's normal for my dog is not normal for other dogs. All in all I liked it and they took great care of my baby! I look forward to using them again in the future. read more

After a very positive boarding experience at a different facility, I feel like I need to leave the review I wanted to 2 years ago in hopes that it spares someone the same ordeal we went through with our fur baby. My family took a vacation for 1 week in the summer of 2014. My spoiled mutt who deserves nothing but the best ended up here, over an hour from our home, because it appeared as though it was the premiere facility and came highly recommended. On paper and in pictures this place looks amazing. But underneath the frills is filth. My dog, who had never been sick a day in his life, came home with open wounds covering his entire back. No call from the facility, no warning, nothing. He was lethargic, refused to eat, and obviously in need of medical attention. Thousands of dollars later, after his body was shaved, he was given numerous intravenous medications, topical lotions, and weeks of the dreaded cone, we finally had our Kilo back. Turns out he contracted a severe bacterial infection of the skin. I called them repeatedly after this ordeal, only to be told that whomever I was speaking with couldn't help me, that my dog was likely already sick when he got there (riiiiiiiiight - that's why you accepted him with open arms into your facility), that I couldn't prove he got sick there, and that someone higher up the chain would call me back to resolve the issue. Guess what? I'm still waiting for that call back... read more

We brought our dog for a 5 night stay at Canyon View Ranch. Upon returning home he walked in the door and began vomiting. I called the ranch & asked if they had noticed anything unusual in his visit & was told that he hadn't eaten for the last 3 meals. I had not received a call while we were gone or any word upon picking up our pooch to let us know that he didn't seem right. After a scary afternoon of vomiting, diarrhea & a listless dog, we went to the vet. Over the course of a week we spent over $700 on vet bills, medications and tests. Not only did our dog suffer from the GI illness, but 3 days later he developed kennel cough. We then sent a letter to Canyon View & we were never contacted by the kennel to discuss the matter or even to acknowledge the letter. It's hard to say if there was a sick dog among the other guests or if the pools & fountains are not well cleaned. Needless to say, our pup won't be returning to CVR. read more

What a terrible experience. Our two healthy dogs stayed here for a week and both came home sick. Our male dog had lost 9 lbs, more than 10% of his weight and nobody had seemed to notice. Our female dog lost 4lbs. Both dogs were suffering with diarrhea and vomiting. We have spent the last five weeks and over $1000 trying to get rid of the intestinal infections our dogs contracted at this kennel. One of our dogs also came home with conjunctivitis in both eyes and has a skin condition we are still trying to sort out. When we called ask questions we were told that their records showed that our dog had vomited once. No one loses nine pounds having vomited once. Clearly no one paying attention or monitoring the situation. We will never leave our dogs at this kennel again. read more

In the past, I've had only minor problems with Canyon View Ranch, but this past experience has prompted me to express my feelings to fellow Yelpers and dog owners. I posted a review one week ago that brought up specifics as to why I was unhappy with Canyon View Ranch. I've since deleted it, but it dealt with the issue of lack of communication between the ranch employees and the dog owners. I assumed, since it was 1pm when our dogs were dropped off at home, that our dogs had been given their breakfast and meds. Turns out they hadn't eaten. It's certainly not difficult to pass on that info. Also, our dog got kennel cough while staying at the ranch and they never told us we needed to refrigerate the remaining Amoxicilion they dropped off with the leftover dog food. It sat outside our house for 8 hours before we even knew there was medication needing refrigeration, so I had to get more from the vet. Lastly, while our dogs were at Canyon View for 3 weeks, we called 3 days in a row to ask for a photo of our dogs to be texted to us, posted to Facebook or emailed, and that never happened. However, the person we asked to take the picture had time to post comments on the Canyon View Facebook page during the time we asked them to snap a photo of our dogs. The owner called to apologize and to tell us they were fixing these issues. They also dropped off a box of doggie treats and a letter of apology. Very sweet and we appreciate their efforts. Yelp is an open forum to express your experiences with companies. When a company doesn't make the grade, I think it's important to keep them in check and Yelp makes them strive to run a better operation. It is interesting that the alleged owner of Canyon View Ranch responded to me on yelp. i have never heard of or from him the entire time my dogs were at the facility. The medical records the facility kept are clear. there was no pre-existing mole, it was his tongue that ended up bringing them to the facility. the blood test offered was performed and that was when the low white count was discovered. The kennel NEVER contacted me during the 6 weeks he was there w/ ANY concern about his health. they NEVER shared any records w/ the treatment facility or me for that matter. It was like pulling teeth to get the records after the fact. there are so many good kennels out there why would you take a chance. i will next be posting the "records" they kept on my dog. you can judge for yourself if this is in compliance w/ regulations and common decency read more

Canyon View Ranch treated my dog like she was one of their own! Oh, and they trained our dog into a sitting, staying, drop it!, non-tugging leash walking, don't bark at strangers obedient love bug. So first off - as you drive up to the ranch you can't help but notice that it is secluded and BIG! Once you get the full tour.....tunnels and ramps and pools! A doggie wonderland. A truly great thing about Canyon View Ranch is that your dog gets to play all day and have training - they are not stuck in a crate or kennel all day (contrary to other reviews). Our dog had some pretty terrible stranger danger issues (barking at strangers she deemed as threatening - not cute for a 100 lb Rottweiler). Immediately upon entering the office our dog, as per usual, started barking at the trainers and people. Our trainer Tyler immediately took charge and started what has been a truly transformative training lesson on our dog and us. We opted for the 4-week stay program due to the seriousness of our dog's issue. Yes, I am that dog owner - i called nearly every day to check on my baby and every. single. time. i was greeted warmly and given an update on my dog. We had several training sessions where we were trained on how to handle different situations and how to continue to work with our dog once we leave the training While our dog still needs a lot of work, right out of training she is already sooooo much better. Whereas before, greeting strangers was full of fear and anxiety for both of us, it is now a straight forward process where both human and dog know how to behave and respond appropriately. We were so very nervous about leaving our dog in the care of someone else. The Canyon View Ranch handlers truly treated our dog like it was their own. She got play, training and loves! I'd also like to add that our dog did get sick while there (to no fault of Canyon View). We were alerted and she was treated immediately. We received updates regularly. I have read some of the previous reviews and after actually going to The Canyon View Ranch and meeting the handlers and staff - it is just impossible for me to think that my dog would get anything other than the 5-star treatment. read more

Canyon View Ranch has been called "Doggie Utopia," a "Canine Shangri la," a "Wonderland of Waggling Tails". Time Magazine said, "Forget the dog - I want to stay there!" All of that is so true! i wish i could have stayed. the trainers are great and the facility is clean and safe. i sent my puppy Dolce here for a month of on leash training and ill be sending here back next year for one month of off leash training. the only thing i don't like about this place is that i ask them to give Dolce a bath once a week and they didn't! but they did give her a free bath right before i picked her up!
