Highlights included the perfectly seasoned Farmer's Market Scramble, Chicken Apple Sausage, Lemon Ricotta Pancakes with Blueberry Sauce, and Herb Roasted Potatoes for breakfast. Lunch featured incredibly tender Short Ribs, perfectly glazed and moist Grilled Chicken, grilled polenta, and the best honey butter cornbread I have ever had. We have our favorites from their menu but they host a variety of curries, proteins, and small bites/street eats. Panipuri - crispy balls ready to be loaded up with lentils, delicious fillings and sauces, these mouthfuls are great for starters but you'll find yourself eating these throughout the meal not only because you're hungry but also because you just can't get enough of them. Samosas - hearty fried dumplings packed with potatoes that are perfect for eating on the go. Great by itself or with sauces and curry, these hot pockets are a burst of flavor that will stuff you up. While the food eventually arrived, the experience leading up to and during the event was fraught with unnecessary stress. Initial communication was great, but it trailed off as we got closer to the date. Despite their "quick response" phone number, my calls and texts went completely ignored. To make matters worse, the voicemail changed from a personal greeting to a generic one 72 hours before my event, leaving me terrified that we had been scammed. We increased our headcount from 65 to 75 a week prior. After being told this was fine, I was sent an incorrect invoice that ignored the new guest count and asked for a second $300 deposit I had already paid. It took multiple follow-up emails just to get a confirmation on the final numbers. On the day of, the staff arrived promptly and set up on time. However, only 30 minutes into service--with only 30 of our 75 guests fed--they completely ran out of cilantro, onions, and grilled peppers. When I followed up the next day, they claimed they prepared for "70 guests." Even if that were true, it wasn't the 75 we paid for, and it certainly doesn't explain running out of basic toppings after 30 people. I'm incredibly glad we didn't use them for our wedding last year as originally planned. It's disappointing when the service doesn't match the reputation. 2 stars for due prompt service and the guests that got all the food really enjoyed the steak & shrimp.

I tried out snow fresca at their pop-up at the Castro valley marketplace. I really love supporting…read morelocal food vendors especially ones that are owned and operated by a local family. Snow fresca really hit the spot after a blazing hot week, hitting upper-80s & low-90s. Particularly what they do well is they use real fruit juice which makes a huge world of a difference, they offer sweet fresh cut fruit as a topping alongside coconut cream or condensed milk, and a few other sprinkles and coconut shavings. I ordered a medium shave ice with ice cream, mango/pineapple/guava "syrups" and condensed milk with ice cream. Unfortunately the ice cream didn't make it in the shave ice, but when brought to their attention they offered to bring us a scoop. My personal suggestions: I think the shave ice may be better if the ice cream is topped with fruit and the shave ice is packed a little lighter. The reason I say this is because the fruit is loosely packed atop the shave ice and becomes a bit of a balancing game to try and eat without them just falling off the top and onto the table. This also becomes quite a challenge because you essentially need to pick at your shave ice because it's a bit too solid (but super light and fluffy once you do manage to pick out a bite), and occasionally lose a few fruit from all the ice being picked loose. Otherwise, I'd say this is one of the better shave ice in the immediate Castro valley area - especially the only one who uses real fruit juice!
