Went to Brothers Barbecue for a special family occasion! as always the service was super warm and welcoming it really has that family feel every time. Since it was my family's first visit, I ordered a little of everything: two tofu soup combos (spicy which will always be my favorite), kalbi, bulgogi, spicy chicken, teriyaki chicken, and bibimbap for the first time. Everything came out quickly and looked great photo-worthy. I already knew the food would be good, but my family loved it too. The bibimbap was a first-time order for me and I thoroughly enjoyed it definitely adding that to my regular picks. Even my year old niece enjoyed it here since its really spacious. I always enjoy both the food and the service here.

Much improved from our last visit two years ago. They have lunch combo specials and a Bo Sam as an appetizer. Not common as you usually see Bo Sam as a special. The Bo Sam is inexpensive and easily feeds 4 as an appetizer, the only small dislike was the pork belly was a bit fatty but quantity wise was a good size of 15 pork belly slices and 6 long lettuce leaves. We put it in the oven that night and it crisped up and melted some of the fat away - Perfect. The combo Spicy Pork and Cold Noodle Soup was also large and easily feeds two if you were to share. The Banchan was also good. Portions are large and we took home enough for dinner that night. Service is attentive.

I used to visit the location when it was Han Dae Gam and now Brother's BBQ. Place looks basicslly the same and food is just as good if not better. Visited with some friends for weeknight dinner and it wasn't too busy. Tables set up for cooking at the table yourself or having them cook it in their kitchen and bringing the food out to you. This is not an AYCE restaurant. :: Korean Seafood and Green Onion Pancakes (Haemul Pajeon) - crispy, soft inside, flavorful with clams, shrimp - good! :: Chicken wings - these were okay and wouldn't order again :: Japchae - translucent glass noodle made from sweet potato starch and mixed with thinly sliced, marinate beef, carrots, onions, spinach with soy and sesame oil - delicious :: LA Galbi or Barbecued Beef Shortribs - nicely marinated, grilled - delicious :: Bulgogi - thinly sliced beef marinated in sweet and savory sauced and grilled - good All dishes including the banchans were delicious but portions like the japchae were a tad smaller than like spots. Still a great Korean food option and would return again. Small shared parking in the back. Price per person with a beverage averaged $55/person with tax/tip

Food, really good! Service, exceptional! We came here on a random date night and we were so pleasantly surprised! Parking is abundant and we were seated right away. They have lots options for cooked food but we wanted to bbq our own food and that has a minimum of 2 entrees to order. The brisket was so good!! So tender, not chewy at all. I wouldn't mind getting 2 orders of this next time. We also got the marinated short ribs which were also good. On the sweeter side so might want to get the unmarinated one next time but still tasty. Tofu soup was really tasty, lots of tofu! The banchan were plentiful and the servers always checked in on us asking if we needed more. My fav were the potatoes! I would def want to come back! It's a great casual spot with quality food.

Went for lunch with my parents. We ordered the lunch combo: galbi + tofu soup. Seafood pancake. And beef tofu soup. But the waitress forgot to write down seafood pancake & it was okay because the food we received was perfect for the three of us with no leftovers! The banchan was super fresh and they gave us refills when we finished it. The lady helping us was super nice too. We really love Korean tofu soup so this was a treat. Would come back again!

Had a wonderful dinner tonight. The staff was incredibly attentive, checked on us often, and took great care of our table throughout the evening. The hospitality really stood out and made the experience enjoyable!! Food and banchan is delicious and they even surprised me with a birthday treat and Milkis, which was such a thoughtful touch

I've driven past this spot for years and finally decided to try it out. We went on a Saturday night around 7pm, and surprisingly it wasn't too crowded. Whenever they're in town, my customers from Korea always come here and say it's comparable--if not better--than KBBQ back home, so I had to see what the hype was about. At first, the pricing threw me off since I'm more used to AYCE KBBQ places. My friend and I ended up ordering the medium beef combination tray ($120), which turned out to be the perfect amount for the two of us--honestly, we could have eaten a little less. The quality of the meat was excellent, probably the best I've had at a KBBQ place. Service was also on point. The staff was very attentive, quick to refresh our banchan, and made sure our grill stayed clean throughout the meal. Overall, a little pricier than what I'm used to, but the quality and service make it worth it.

Vegetable Tofu Soup, Seafood Pancake, side of rice, and banchan! We were able to finish all of this between the two of us :)

We're late-night diners and wanted some tofu soup on a weekday evening. It was around 9pm and I saw on Yelp, that Brother's BBQ closed at 10pm. I've passed by this place so many times and never noticed it. It's pretty big inside and they had some TVs playing kdramas. We were the only patrons, which almost made us not wanna go in, but did anyway and were so glad we did. I thought the workers would be annoyed we came in that late, but they were so friendly and attentive and didn't make us feel rushed at all. We ordered: Vegetable Tofu Soup extra spicy (but kinda disappointed since it wasn't spicy at all) Seafood Pancake 2 sides of rice Everything satisfied our craving. And no skips in the banchan- They were all good!! (I usually don't like fish cake, but loved theirs). This was the perfect amount of food for our party of two.

Solid KBBQ spot here in San Leandro. In fact, it's where my now-boyfriend and I went for our first date. I've been here with my mom before, and the food was great. When I came here with her, I enjoyed a hot stone bibimbap. So when a match from Coffee Meets Bagel and I were planning a date, and he asked to treat me out to dinner, I sent him options from Yelp, and he chose this one. Driving here is pretty easy despite being right by Bart and the train tracks. There's a fair amount of parking in the back. The restaurant itself is very spacious with plenty of seats. Date went so well, we just dove into conversation once we got seated, and it wasn't until a waitress came to ask us if we were ready to order that we realized we hadn't ordered anything yet. We went for standard KBBQ fare, including bulgogi. Our waitress was amazing with helping us cutting our meat, replacing the grill, and being so attentive. We enjoyed our dinner date so much, we ended up being the last ones in the restaurant, and got kicked out at closing time. That was when we decided to go get dessert...and got kicked out at closing time too, LOL! Thanks Brother's BBQ for being a great first-date dinner spot!

I was hoping this would be one of my go to's, only 5 mins from the house. Came in on a Friday night about 6pm and got a able for 2 right way. The service was good, when we sat down they informed us that the kitchen is a little backed up and may take longer than usually if i didn't order the self cooking meats, which was nice because most place won't tell you until you're already pissed off from waiting. Kimchi Fried Rice was good, not too oily. Vegetable Tofu Soup was good. Beef Bulgogi had good flavor but the quality of the meat is not good very chewy. That's why I only gave them a 3 Stars

This is hands down my favorite korean BBQ spot in the east bay. The meat was high quality and the service was impeccable. Despite it being really busy, servers would come by to check on our table often. If you come here you have to get the beef pancake! The meat was very savory and perfectly seasoned! The sauce that came with the dish had me addicted. Their assortment of side dishes were impressive. Even in their soup, they didn't skimp on the amount of meat.

I was there at 7pm on a Saturday. I've seen this place cross my Yelp feed a few times, so I wanted to come try it. I also got a tip from a Yelp Elite that the roast pig was very good here. So I ordered the $8.99 Combo meal- Chow Mein and/or Fried Rice + 2 Items from the steam table. -at extra cost, you can sub meats from the BBQ/Cooked Meat section. So I got fried rice, and string beans w/ Chicken/Mushrooms. 2nd item was Chicken in gravy w/ mixed veggies. I asked them to put some gravy over the rice to make it soft and moist. Good portions! You get alot of food for $8.99. Chicken was very tender and easy to eat. All the foods were good. I also got 1/2 a roast duck and a small box of roast pig to try. They said they cook the roast ducks there. The duck had a mild flavor, but it was tender and moist. The roast pig was good. Moist juicy meat. Crispy crunchy pork skin. There's tables and booths in the dining room. The decor doesn't match an asian restaurant. Honestly, I can't remember what used to be here. The layout and outside design looks like an old style Taco Bell. They have a large parking lot. There's a 7-11 sign, but no 7-11 store. The staff was very nice. You just tell them what you want, and point at which tray of food. BTW...."BBQ" means Chinese BBQ.... - Roast Pork Belly - Roast Duck - Imperial Chicken - Soy Sauce Chicken - Honey BBQ Pork Overall a very good experience, and I would return. ------------------------------------- Located at East 14th St & 136th Ave, Near San Leandro Blvd. Across the street from Palma Plaza and San Leandro Hospital. Order at the counter and sit and enjoy kind of place. It's decorated simply with a tv that was playing ufc and we were welcomed by Tim who was so warm and hilarious our entire visit. First thing I noticed was how fairly priced the place is. 1lb of brisket is 30 dollars, potato salad is 5 dollars and soda is 2 dollars (some places charge like 4 bucks for a can!) Ordered, sat down and enjoyed some convo with the order and our food came out in about 10min. If there's one thing to get, it's the brisket fries!! Oh my word, the sauce and cheese all go so well with the bbq. I like how their sauce has a kick to it and isn't overly sweet. The brisket was really tender and smoked well. I personally enjoy fattier pieces of brisket but I bet if I would've asked for those cuts he might've accommodated. The smoked potatoes salad is almost a must. Very unique style of potato salad and pairs well with everything. We noticed they also do catering, and the prices for that also look very reasonable. Would definitely considering using them for our next party!

I got the Tom Yum broth, and asked for a side of white rice which is free. The broth was super tart and flavorful, like mama noodles which I love. There were ingredients that you'd typically see at hot pot spots like beef, lamb, spam, tofu for proteins, and spinach, cabbage, corn, etc. for veggies. Lots of noodle options, and the sauce bar, although small, I really enjoyed the sesame sauce, house chili, and the spicy garlic sauce. They even have perfectly medium-cooked fried eggs that I felt went well with the tom yum broth. We were conservative with our ingredients because we didn't want to accidentally have a $40 bowl of soup, but we were under the minimum so we had to add a few more to get it to 0.80 ounces. At that minimum, our bowls were a very reasonable $13. The only con is that it's a bit small inside so I can see it getting annoying on busy weekends especially as people crowd around to choose ingredients. Luckily on a weekday late lunch it was pretty dead. Other small con is water is served in small paper cups so we had to ask for refills often. Small gripe but with spicy soup, water is needed and in large quantities to offset some of the spiciness. Service was amazing, prompt and friendly. Overall, solid spot and glad we got to try it!

Basically, you walk in, grab a bowl, and pick out whatever meats, veggies, noodles, etc. you want. Then you bring it to the counter, they weigh it, and that's how they charge you. I've always been kind of hesitant to try one because I was scared I'd end up with a $20+ bowl by accident. I was excited to see that Master Gua Malatang & BBQ opened up near me, so I finally gave it a shot. They charge $14.99 per pound with a minimum of 0.80 lbs, which honestly isn't bad. I tried to be smart and picked mostly light stuff like spinach, sprouts, and tofu. I avoided heavier stuff like corn on the cob or beef balls. When I went to weigh it, my bowl came out to 0.65 lbs, so I went back and added a little more meat and veggies to hit 0.85. My total came out under $13, which is a great deal for how filling it was. I got the satay broth, which is beef, shrimp, and fish-based with a peanutty flavor. It wasn't fishy at all, which I appreciated. My partner got the tom yum broth and I thought it tasted just like Mama brand instant noodles, in a good way. You also get a side of white rice with your soup, but you have to ask for it. Meat options were beef, lamb, and pork belly. Only downside is that all the meats are kind of fatty. Also, they give you tiny paper water cups. If they're gonna do that, they really need to have a self-serve water station or just give people bigger cups so you don't have to keep asking for refills. The service was great though. The lady working was super friendly and helpful. If you're worried about the price, I recommend just filling your bowl with what you think you'll eat, weighing it, and then adding more if you need to meet the minimum. They also have a sauce bar so you can make your own dipping sauce, but it would be cool if they put out some suggested combos for people who don't know what to mix. Overall, I'll definitely be back. This place is perfect for a quick, comforting meal especially if you're nursing a hangover.

There's usually a pretty good line right by the register, so this place is pretty well known by the Asian locals. Shrimp Wonton Noodle Soup ($16/2*) First outing here I sat for lunch and tried this. Surprisingly disappointing seeing how busy and popular this place is. The wontons were okay, decent flavor with a strong sesame oil presence. But they weren't that plump and luxurious, just seemed like homemade/amateur versions. Which is fine, except given the nicer restaurant feel, I just expected something more elevated. The noodles were fine, super thin egg noodles that had a nice QQ. BUT their broth was so bland and unremarkable that it kinda ruined the whole experience. I couldn't even taste/detect the protein that made up the stock, just tasted like murky liquid to me. And zero condiments on the table, so I just ate the wontons and the plain tasting noodles cuz the broth couldn't offer anything to the noodles. Womp womp. And their bowl of choice is very weird to eat from. Super tall bowl that if you leave a spoon in there it will sink and be submerged for you to fish out...in piping hot liquid. If I would have reviewed this place just on this one visit, then it surely would have been a sub 3* rating. But I knew I couldn't leave my impression with that one lone visit. Roast Duck - Half ($20/4*) Came back for some take-out deli items and I was handsomely rewarded. Total 180 experience from the soup outing. Their ducks here are slightly more expensive than most others for the area. But it is still worth it imo. They cut it with good skill and even for a take-out box they present it nicely, with the shape of duck still somewhat intact. The skin is not crisp at all but it is very well rendered. Some pieces were not that salty at all but some other pieces are well seasoned, which I thought was strange. But overall a very solid roast duck is to be found here. There's also a big scoop of these tiny beans that are slightly sweet almost like baked beans just not as gloopy. But the bean texture is very al dente, almost crunchy, which I found very strange. Macao Roast Pork w/ Rice ($19/4.5*) This is crazy good...I'll even say special. Super seasoned pork belly is roasted til the skin gets crisp...like chicharon status, except it is just a very thin layer of crispness. So the balance between the sturdy crunch and juicy flavorful meat was practically perfect. It is definitely on the salty side, almost the same intenseness as eating Spam with white rice, but white rice offsets those salty components beautifully. And they garnish this massive plate with perfectly blanched gai lan (Chinese Broccoli) and some other pickled greens that add a nice sweet and tangy component. So between the decadent pork, white rice and diverse greens offerings just made this a complete one stop shop that could make a regular out of me. There's also a Share Tea next door so I've got a harmonious tandem going on here. Lucky Ducky Me yassss!

Service was ok, they give you a pad to order from, comes in English or Chinese. We ordered their specialty fish and pickled veggies, spicy and numbing but we all liked it, we opted for noodles to pair with it. Then we ordered sweet and sour spareribs, I've always had a tangy tastebud, then the ultimate Bbq pork which a special that I've yet to have anywhere else, it was the best tasting bbq pork. We ordered a dessert of sticky rice sticks that was intended to be crunchy but it wasn't so I'd skip that, not really worth it.

The BBQ sauce was phenomenal. The baked beans were fine. The Mac and cheese was OK. I would go back and try something different like links and collards. Overall good.

Food is EXCELLENT however, trying to order from them is a nightmare. They always have to close…read moreordering because they get so busy. I tried ordering yesterday and the ordering was closed at about 11:30 a.m. Because of this I ordered a day early (through Uber Eats). I keep getting updates but wanted to call the store to confirm. Glad I did because they didn't have the order and now at noon the ordering is closed for two hours. They should hire a couple of people just for take out orders for an order for four. After this it will be a while before I order again if at all. Update: at 1:00 they cancelled the order I placed at approximately 11:30 am. Second day in a row- you can't pay me to order from here again. Bad services ruins good food. Update two: I called them to express my frustration and sheer disappointment she listen said she would check on it - took my number and said she would call me back within 10 minutes. If I got a call the person reading this got one as well!!! If I wasn't done with them I definitely am now.
