Their barbecue sauce is a great complement to their St Louis-style ribs. This was my 2nd visit and ordered a slab of ribs in addition to trying the pork belly. O...M..G...it was like meat candy! Sweet, tangy, smoky, melt-in-your mouth with a layer of fat and skin. Note: the skin isn't crispy but you get the chewy and tender with this flavorful item. I don't eat a lot of white rice but if I had a container, I would've sat in the parking lot and ate away! Literally just burning gas looking for a place to eat, before I noticed this East Bay eats sign. I go in and sift through the menus of DIFFERENT kitchens. Yes different kitchens. I come upon Sacred Pig, a BBQ spot. Low and behold the food was good. I ordered a 3 meat combo, chicken, ribs, and pork belly. Sides were mac&cheese, and potatoe salad. The ribs were in my opinion cooked perfectly. The pork belly delicious. The potato salad was a hit. An what can I say about that yard bird, off the grill so yum yum. I threw a surprise party for my husband on Memorial Day! I was concerned about finding a place that could help me on the holiday but Chris was totally in for it. He was beyond helpful and super communicative. All that is great but the biggest advantage was the food!!! The guests raved about the food. My only regret is not getting more ribs. Online order for pickup at 6 pm . I'm pretty sure I didn't take pictures b/c my phone died & I always take pictures . A bit disappointing b/c the sausages looked like they were sitting under heat lamp & looked like shriveled weinies ! Everything was cold the beans the brisket & ribs . I love the use of the ghost kitchen set ups but either they need to get an area where it has more places to sit or set up tables in the outside area . The St. Louis ribs are incredibly moist and tender with a nice bark, plenty of dry rub, not drowning in barbecue sauce. Just how I like it. The most difficult thing to find are ribs that are that moist with good bark, even some of the best barbecue joints in SF have a tough time finding that balance. That's the beauty of Sacred Pig. The menu also includes habanero chicken, salt pepper garlic drumsticks, pulled pork, hot links, mom's potato salad, slaw, and beans. LISTEN!!! I went out on a limb here from word of mouth from a friend of a friend. I was NOT left hanging! I didn't just buy a plate, I had my first gathering in my new home catered by Sacred Pig. I'd gotten a couple of things when they were in the market location, and tried a couple of times unsuccessfully since they weren't open. I don't remember what I got the first time, but the second time was last year in June. I remember because I took leftovers to have for lunch on my roadtrip. That was pork belly. I seem to recall it being in larger pieces than now, and it seemed chewier. I don't remember the sauce. I braved having pork belly again last night for the first SC order at this new location, and it was yummy! Soft, smaller pieces, and with plenty of sauce (from the description I wasn't sure if it would have that). I'd intended to save half for the next day, but it was so good that I couldn't stop, even though I wasn't that hungry to begin with. I selected slaw for my side, as something to contrast with the meat. It was fresh and light. On April 15th the Sacred pig bbq catered my wedding and the whole experience was one of the best experiences we ever had. Customer service was on point, food on point, the whole general feel of everything was great. We had set up this catering event about 1 year in advance once we locked the venue once we had the menu in place which was for 300 people we had smoked chicken, tri tip, and hot links, and sides maaaaaaannnn the food was bomb but those links! Straight fire that shit shhhhammmmckin! So much flavor in the sauce they used. Not one guest had one thing negative to say about the food, everyone loved it. Tried this place on Sunday,I had the hot link hoagie with there special BBQ sauce.I ordered through the East Bay eats kiosk which was fast and efficient but was terribly disappointed when I received my order.The hoagie bread was so small and flimsy and came apart when I tried to pick it up.The BBQ sauce tasted off old and stale, the links were average. This place has amazing ribs. Moist, super meaty, and fall off the bone good. Their potato salad is also very good. My husband went in late on a Saturday and they were sold out. On Sunday he went by and thought they weren't there, but I called the number and Chris said they were inside the store today. I tried this place yesterday. I ordered the ribs and was not impressed, I received 4 small well done bones with a cup of coleslaw for $28 I think I'll stick with Canyon BBQ in Castro Valley. Much better ribs,sauce and 2 side with bread for $21. I did like the concept of many types of food in one place. It appears to be a distribution system and the food is brought in from neighboring restaurants. I may try some of the other restaurant options in the future but you're probably better off going directly to the restaurant that's delivering to them. read more

The food (or at least the chicken) was good. I wasn't able to try the ribs as they were out. It is best to order ahead of time in order to get what you want. Also: their prices on their website aren't correct; it lists a whole chicken with 2 sides costing $26. Yet I was told by Chris that the pricing was incorrect and that sides were extra. We used some of the barbecue sauce in the beans as they were a little dry. Potato salad was pretty good. First let me say I have competed in KCBS BBQ competitions and I'm also a KCBS judge, This BBQ operation works out of a convenience food market in Hayward. When I arrived I saw a very large Lang BBQ pit outside the store with a thin blue type smoke coming out of the smoke stack. That told me this pitmaster knew how operate his BBQ pit. I bought two , 2 meat combo plates ( ribs and chicken) with bbq beans and potato salad, and One Rib plate with the same two sides. BBQ should be about two things, Meat and Smoke, the meat should be moist and tender with just enough smoke to flavor and not overpower the taste of the meat. The ribs at this place are some of the best tasting ribs I've tasted, and could compete successfully with the professional teams on the KCBS circuit. My wife enjoyed the ribs better than mine. I meet Chris a couple months ago for my birthday party. I was told how good his food was yet, I was a little skeptical. I thought he would be a ' traditional bbq cooker". Well , Chris surprised all of us. Especially, with his Carnitas. I have great Mexican cooks in my family but Chris's carnitas were the best we tasted. There was not one complaint at the party.
