ESPRESSO
Daren R.

HOT ESPRESSO... Been to Vicky Bakery during the last two decades and recently noticed that one of the founding family owners recently purchased a few of the stores and are now proudly called CAO Bakery which is his last name. This morning was my first visit here for coffee to wash down my morning treat at Mojo Donuts and became busy quickly as the morning progressed. COFFEE: Espresso PRICE: $2.25 TASTE: Smooth and boiling hot MENU: Traditional latino - pastries, cakes, empanadas, coffees, cuban sandwiches and breakfast croissants. STAFF: Nice and quick. ONLINE ORDERING: Yes LOCATION: Sheridan Plaza in Pembroke Pines BATHROOM: Very clean, displaying the CAO coffee brand on the wall photos. The CAO brand is extremely similar to Vicky Bakery for a good reason - why change perfection? (well, close enough) Will return to both brands which ever location is closer on any given day.

Came with family for a weekend morning breakfast, got cafe con leche, guava pastelitos and some other food. Restaurant was clean and we were helped quickly. Tons of choices of food and especially desserts of all kinds. I will say the guava pastelitos had a glaze that sticks to your teeth hard but it was still tasty. I wish the cafe con leche medium was a lot bigger because it looked like a pretty small size. Pretty good prices and fast service. Plenty of parking and table spaces to sit and eat.

This is a classic style CAO with all the good pastries. I showed up from 7am to 8 and there wasn't a whole lot of people purchasing things. Everything was fresh. I had a Cafe Con leche and two pastries. The AC was comfortable and their signage was easy to read.

Hubby and I were lazy this morning and decided in ordering CAO via UberEats. We ordered Cafe con Leche and the Breakfast Sandwich (and we substituted the cheese for Swiss cheese). It was all delicious. What I appreciated the most that even though it was delivery, the Cafe con Leche arrived HOT. I had to wait a few mins for it to cool down. It was so nice to not drink cold coffee. And the sandwich was delicious, did not disappoint. Thank you CAO for saving us for breakfast!

This bakery located close to local college. The hour we have visit is closing hour and not much of customers. Most of the bake items almost sold out especially the coconut pastry. You notice the popularity pastry with almost sold out. I got one remaining coconut pastry, meat and guava pastry. The coconut pastry is very nice. The pastry is still very good even in closing hour. The only thing is most of the store clerk are not English fluent in communication.

I've order several times from this location. I usually order to go or visit order and my order is always correct. The fried tray I order for thanksgiving apps was delicious but a little expensive for what it was. Overall is a solid spot to get different type of pastelitos or fried apps.

First time at CAO bakery for party pastelitos and a cortadito and I was impressed. The pastelitos were delicious and a hit at the event I took them to. A cortadito espresso is my favorite and they made it to perfection. Good location in Pembroke Pines. The staff was friendly and provided fast service.

Bacon, Egg & Queso Sandwich

Fresh delicious pastries served at an extremely reasonable price with loaded breakfast sandwiches made to order! The bacon egg and queso looked massive and was dripping with yolk, but wasn't too heavy and a perfect way to start the morning. The restaurant was clean and the food came out quickly.

CAO Bakery is one of my favorite chains. I have always liked them. This one is located at a corner of a plaza. It is easy to spot from the street. The bakery has plenty of parking spaces all around. It is in a great location. I found this location to be a little smaller inside than the other COA Bakeries I had visited before. It might be a smaller bakery but they still serve good desserts. I got the breakfast sandwich, ham croquets, and pastelitos. I liked everything. The food tasted great. I was happy with everything. I got a free coffee when I checked in with Yelp and so that made my day. I especially liked the cheese pastelitos. The place is very casual and lively. They had good Spanish music playing. The staff was very friendly and the prices were good. I had a good lunch today thanks to them.

No signage indicating fee for cc usage

TLDR: Come with cash and check your order before you leave. The chicken croquetas are the best in the area. However the service is abysmal! They handed me my order in a tied bag. I got all the way home to realize they didn't give me the tostadas I paid for. I checked the receipt to call them and ask that they make it for me as I return so I don't have to wait- and to my surprise they charge a credit card fee! No where do they indicate such! Very poor practice to not display a fee. On a separate visit, I waited eternally for a coffee that the lady forgot to take down when I ordered. Very terrible service. I hope they do something with the awful customer service because I love their croquetas when I need a fix.

The entire order was wrong! I ordered arroz con pollo they gave me potato and beef fried balls, I ordered chicken croquette and they gave me ham it's just a mess, bacon not cooked!

When you go overboard and buy all the goodies.

They're overdue for an update. I've come several times since my last review and it appears they finally worked out their kinks. Whenever I've gone since my last penned review, they've always had a plethora of treats. It seems they've learned to accommodate to the rush of clientele. They've also mastered their café con leche craft. Seriously speaking, I'm dead tired today and made coffee at home. I didn't finish it, went to the bakery, and wound up ordering croquetas, empanadas, and a café con leche to boot. That café con leche is on point. I'm here happily sipping away, thinking this is quite a coffee. I make a decent cup myself, but this jolt seems to be just what I needed, so yes, definitely an update is in order. Raising this location of CAO to four stars.

My family and I recently did a take out order for a Sunday breakfast at home and everything was so good! We got ham croquettes and of course a wide variety of pastelitos and Cuban bread. The service was attentive and the food delicious. My only complaint is that they stuffed everything in one box and some of the croquettes were smashed by the time we got home. It would have been better to pack the croquettes in one box and the pastelitos in a second box. Just have to keep this in mind when we go back.

As a lifelong South Floridian, I'm pretty particular about my Cuban food. Sergio's delivered one of…read morethe best meals I've had in a long time. The Vaca Frita was outstanding, a generous portion, perfectly seasoned, and cooked exactly as requested: extra crispy. The rice was flavorful without being overly salty, and the black beans were spot-on. Everything struck that perfect balance where it's seasoned just right, you don't need to add anything unless you want to. The tostones were excellent too, crispy on the outside with a soft, tender bite inside, nothing like the hard, overcooked versions you often get elsewhere. We started with their plantain chips and enjoyed the complimentary Cuban bread. For dessert, the mousse was light, fluffy, and not overly sweet, the ideal finish. Sergio's has easily become our go-to spot for Cuban food. Highly recommended.

When i moved up to pines i feared not having my little ventanita but fear not. Sergio had been there for me with open arms. From the sweet ladies who attend me. To the even sweeter coffee i get to pick up on my way to work. Ive had a couple different lattes here and can proudly say none have ever missed. But of course i cant forget about my tostada, I can never have my cafecito without my tostada on the side. Best part is I don't have to spend more than $10 when I wanna pick up. My tostada and cafe. Which nowadays id hard to come by. So if you want the coffee and especially really good tostada Sergio's is the place to go and Ofcourse order from la ventanita

This was my first time in 15 years coming back to try Latin American Grill in Pembroke Pines…read more When my family used to live in Pembroke Pines, I remember stopping by to grab colada and sandwiches for quick lunch every weekend with my friends before going out. It was one of more affordable lunches for us back then. Not much has changed in all the years. The food quality is still decent, the prices are still affordable, and the customer service is still friendly. It was a nice experience to stop by for a simple breakfast and colada. It helped me reminisce about my life from years ago, how much has changed for the better now, but still missing how some things were back then. Maybe it wasn't a simple dining experience for me today, maybe motivation for me to check in on some people from way back then to see if they are still doing well. Thanks Latin American Grill for still being at the same location and reminding me to reach out to people I haven't spoken to in years. They offer plenty of free parking in this plaza. I would recommend this place to others and maybe be back next time I am in Pembroke Pines area.
