Tupi Coffee never disappoints! I've been here several times and their gluten-free cheese bread is what keeps me coming back. It's the perfect salty pairing with the sweet flavors of the Moreno coffee--always my go-to drink. Unfortunately the bread was sold out when I went this time (but that's how you know how good it is)! I also love the outdoor seating area above the shop. It's a great spot to catch up with friends or get some work done. The shop is tucked inside a cute neighborhood and only a few steps away from Southside Park, which makes a nice place to grab coffee and walk around. Tupi is definitely worth exploring! read more

Such a cute little place to hang out, enjoy some food, and sip on some drinks. The staff here is very cheerful and greet you with big smiles. Tupi Coffee's menu is very versatile and they offer many things. What brought me here are the Brazilian baked goods and they did not disappoint! They look small, but they are very filling. I shared the 4 pictured goods with my partner and we were both stuffed by the end of it. If you try anything at all, try the coxinha (but I urge you to try everything) So delicious! The coffee is pretty good. Latte is on the sweeter side. The Moreno is very sweet but pretty yummy! I don't find myself ordering coffee very much anymore, but I wanted to try it since it's traditional Brazilian (and well, it's a Brazilian place). It was very busy since the rooftop was host to a plethora of different events. Overall, a beautiful place home to various communities where you can connect. So beautiful! read more

Stopped in to get a Matcha Latte but they were out of Matcha that day. The barista mentioned a couple of options and so went with a Pour Over Coffee. The line was quite long so took about 5-10 minutes to get my order. It is a busy place. My friend mentioned there was a rooftop area so went up there to check it out while waiting for my coffee. I loved coming here! Such a cute spot with great indoor, outdoor, and even rooftop seating--it has a really nice vibe no matter where you sit. The rooftop outdoor patio space is perfect for doing work or a work from home day. The latte was specially made by the barista and I wasn't crazy about it. It's not what I usually get so it's possible I just didn't like certain parts of it. I'm open to going back to try something different. I went on a Wednesday and wanted a beef rissoles but they were out of a lot of their pastries. I got the cochina which was good. Such a beautiful cafe! There's a lot of space to sit down, and they have a rooftop seating area, which is great if you want some fresh air while you eat and sip your coffee. We ordered a matcha latte, moreno coffee, bacon egg sando on a plate, and turkey sando. Their matcha is pre-sweetened, and it was the perfect amount of sweetner. The colour was a bit light, but it was still pretty good. The moreno coffee was delicious. The cocoa tied really well with the espresso. Food wise, it came out fresh, well presented, and it was very flavorful. I didn't feel icky after eating this meal, it felt very healthy and light. the egg on my bacon egg plate was fluffy! I loved their honey mustard that came with it. Baristas were very sweet, we took a minute looking at their menu and they were patient and helped answer all our questions! Love having a Brazilian cafe downtown! Eddie the owner is super sweet and seems like he's trying hard to bring the Brazilian culture to Sacramento. The new location is great with a rooftop space. We love all the little touches in the restaurant from the decor to the utilitarian wall signs letting you know where things go. The staff all seem friendly. I always love ordering the Moreno; it reminds me of a mocha and a Mexican hot chocolate. I also prefer it iced! The coxinha is also great if you've never tried it - shredded chicken and cream cheese. I ordered the ham and cheese risole today which was very creamy and savory. While the pastries are in a warming case, they still have great texture and flavor! I also tried an açaí bowl today. The toppings were great, but I think the açaí itself had an interesting texture. You can tell it came frozen but maybe it had been thawed and refrozen at some point because there was a clear distinction of layers with a more icy layer on top and a sweeter, jammy, sticky layer at the bottom. This can all be solved by mixing everything together. The fruit was all delicious! read more

I came to Tupi with a friend around 11am on a Saturday and it was moderately busy but still with a decent number of open tables. It's a nice cozy and warm cafe with a large open space, and the upstairs patio is nice and peaceful. It was a bit cold on the day we visited though so we opted to sit downstairs, which is a bit noisier if you're here to get some work done like we were. I go the honey latte - this came out extremely hot, and in a larger glass than I thought it would. It had a wonderful thick milk foam at the top and a strong honey flavor. We also got a muffin and coxinha to share - the muffin had a nice, rich chocolate and was not too dry but not moist. The coxinha was interesting - the dough was pretty mushy and seemed borderline undercooked and the filling wasn't very warm. I'm glad I tried in but probably wouldn't get it again. I wanted to like this place, was excited after browsing the pix and reading the reviews. I love trying new and interesting finds, Brazilian coffee and treats! However, my first experience there was less than optimal for reasons within and out of the shop's control. My Moreno was luke warm, tasted good but wasn't hot enough, couldn't finish it without warming it up in the microwave later. For a coffee shop, I would think getting water at a hot temperature would be primary. I also ordered bacon sando, Coxinha, Cheese Bread - Pão de Queijo, Corn & Cheese Rissoles, Heart of Palm & Cheese Rissoles and banana chocolate bread. The guy stuffed a lot of it in a tiny box and as I was waiting for my coffee, I realized he forgot to include my banana chocolate bread so I had to tell them. Then I had to ask for a bag bc i couldn't possibly carry all those loose items and my coffee to my car. Later, I realized I was without my bacon sando. They are quite disorganized here. I was excited to see their roof top bar as well but it was too cold and uninviting bc they cleared out all the tables and chairs for a yoga class. Bummer. Oh, and while I was walking out, I got harassed by a transient standing next to the apartments adjacent to the shop. Not a cool area, don't think I'll return. read more

I've gone back here twice in one week now! First off, I love how many seats they have. This place is so welcoming for any kind of meet up. Studying, friends catch up or even a board game fun! (Which they provide). First thing that stand out to me is their customer service that goes above and beyond! I forget to grab his name but he remembered us from our first visit! The customer's that asks for a hot cup with cold drinks because he did it again with our Brazilian lemonade and açaí smoothie! Secondly, their coffee. Cute little spot! We came here on a walk back from a little library nearby. It's very cute, two levels, bathrooms on both stories. Good for morning to afternoon study sessions. The Brazilian lemonade with condensed milk and honey is really good! I ended up getting another before I left with my friend. Elevator doesn't work. It's nice and quiet place to chill in the city. They cooked ours to order so it was nice and hot/crunchy. The cheese bread is exactly what I wanted, crunchy, soft, chewy with a lot of cheese flavor. The Heart of Palm Rissoles taste like an artichoke pizza. It's creamy with a nice crunch. The Coxinha has a more bread like nugget texture to the outside so I was surprised the insides are more shredded. All of the treats were so good, I would come back to buy in bulk. Service was friendly and food was quick but we came during a downtime so not sure what it's like during busy rush hours! This place is a gem! The staff are so friendly and there's lots of seating space, perfect for a work meeting or studying. Everyone who was working here was extremely nice and the energy was amazing. The interior was so cute, loved the bright colors and color blocked mural. I got a cheese and corn empanada and a cheese bread to eat and the seasonal pumpkin latte. Personally I thought the flavor of the empanada was great I just didn't love the texture (which is a preference thing!) and vis versa for the cheese bread. Which again is just my taste preferences. The latte was great! Not super fake sweet like a traditional pumpkin latte and was very smooth. Next time I come here I def want to try more food options and diversify my palette more! Tupi was a surprising delight. I ended up going here right before an event around 3:00 p.m.. there were a few people within the coffee shop enjoying their drinks and small bites. The space itself was clean but also warm because of the colorful exterior that greeted you as you walked in.I you were greeted with the fresh smell of brewing coffee and espresso with a hint of sweetness that came from the treats close to the register. I want to say thank you to the two people that were behind the bar. The first person who took my order was extremely friendly and knowledgeable regarding the drinks. It was my first time there and I asked him what would he recommend and the drink I was looking at was the Moreno and he said that is my absolute favorite. So I ended up getting it. Hats off to the barista that made my drink because it was simply decadent. It was the right amount of milk, cinnamon chocolate, and sugar that made it taste almost like a liquid choco flan brownie. Yeah that's a lot of things mixed together but that's what my mind created in my head. I also had a carrot cupcake as a snack. This was more of a small loaf of bread because of how much it packed. My newfound love is Tupi! With plenty of street parking around, Tupi is easy to locate with a gorgeous mural on the storefront. The inside is just as beautiful with bright and airy atmosphere, plants, and clean tables. The staff is incredible and service has always been quick. It was fairly quiet around 1 PM on a Saturday. Granted, it was Valentine's Day. My husband really liked the BLTA sandwich. The açai bowl was good- very generous with the açai layer and topped with very fresh banana, strawberries, and blueberries. Coxhinas were tasty- gotta dip them in a little hot sauce. The Brazilian lemonade was slightly bitter, which I think is authentic to how it's supposed to taste, and not very heavily sweetened, but they do have sugar available to mix into drinks as desired. I've been here twice. Cute business on the corner of 8th and S. There's street parking and it's next to Southside Park. My first visit was good, second one wasn't. The first time, I ordered a latte. When I first tasted my latte, I wasn't overimpressed, but the flavor grew on me as I continued to drink. Sufficiently provided me with (more than) the caffeine necessary to make it through my workday. Service was friendly. It took a while for my order to be taken, but once it was my drink was out pretty instantaneously. In contrast, my 2nd visit was an all-around disaster, starting with the service. The person at the counter stood there, then stepped back about 5-10 seconds after I approached to order and clearly wanted the other person working to take my order. There was no welcome; there was no thanks given. (I received a much more pleasant greeting from the homeless person down the street who enthusiastically said hello to me as I walked by, and he's not paid to be in customer service.) I ordered a Moreno. It tasted like sugar milk, not a hint of coffee. Based on the service I received that day, I wouldn't be surprised if the drink was made with the same amount of effort (no effort). I thought Tupi would be taking a lot of my money in the future (since it's in a convenient location for me). However, service matters a lot to me. I'll give them another couple of tries before I decide if I'm going to pick another business over Tupi to fulfill my coffee needs when Downtown. read more

Such a cute Brazilian coffee spot! They serve more than coffee, but we made the trip for the coffee today! Two of us had the Moreno coffee (hot), a friend tried the Moreno (iced), and the birthday girl tried the Mocha. We all enjoyed our drinks and wish we weren't so stuffed from lunch to try some of their Brazilian snacks! Love the modern vibes. We sat at the rooftop, which unfortunately didn't have heat lamps :( and it was chilly. So that's one thing I would love to see them add. Your pups can even come inside and hang out with you while you're eating and drinking. I decided to try the Moreno iced. We ordered a couple of things to try off the menu. We got the ham and egg breakfast sandwich, cheese bread, ham and cheese risoles, corn and cheese risoles, and coxinha. It was our first time having Brazilian empanadas so of course we had to basically try everything. I liked the Moreno as it had different flavors that worked well together and it wasn't too sweet, but I could definitely taste the chocolate! The breakfast sandwich was yummy and I loved how it actually had greens in it! The brioche was flaky, bacon was crispy, and egg was fluffy. The empanadas were yummy! My boyfriend's favorite was the cheese bread the most. It was cheesy and had a mochi consistency. I looked the ham and cheese risoles the best. We both agreed we could have skipped the coxinha, but glad we tried. Overall, love the atmosphere and vibe inside. They even have a rooftop! I went here for the first time on a Friday afternoon and this place is probably one of my fave coffee shops now (coming from someone who regularly explores Sac coffee)! I came here to study for a few hours. I was drawn to come here because I heard this place has a cute rooftop and especially nice during the warmer season.
