How is it possible to be so bad at simple requests? This is the 3rd time in a row we've ordered a very similar 2 bagel order, both untoasted. All 3 times they've come out toasted. We were the second people in line this morning, so they weren't slammed, and they still can't get it right. Why is bagel toasting even an option? It melts the cream cheese and drips all over making a huge mess, which is impossible to deal with while driving. Bagels are only ever offered to be toasted at bad bagel shops where the bagels aren't fresh anyways, and sold to people who don't know better. This is the first time I brought it up with them, at least they offered to replace it, but the bagel maker was rude about it and I didn't have time to wait around. The only nice person there is the lady taking the orders. This place clearly takes advantage of its bagel monopoly by offering mediocre food and poor service at above average prices. read more

After reading a former employee's comment I felt compelled to set the story straight! I have absolutely never had a problem with Ericka or felt like I was afraid that I would be fired! I am a current employee and have been for almost 6 months now! If an employee walks around doing nothing on their shift then of course they would be afraid to lose their job. This family is amazing to work for!! They have done nothing but be a help to me. They are willing to work with people as long as they are genuinely trying! Reasonable prices. Delicious bagels. Friendly employees. I get the smoked salmon bagel with capers, onions and I ask for the low fat scallion sour cream. It's SO good. If you want to get really wild you can ask for it on an everything bagel and then you can be sure that no one will communicate with or be near you for the whole rest of the day thanks to the pungent red onion & scallion. Go to Cape Cod Bagel for lunch if you want to be sitting on the toilet for the entire afternoon. Cons: - Staff is sometimes moody and always slow to prepare the food. (that is what causes lines, not high volume.) Staff will sit and chat instead of making your lunch. They will do this right in front of your face while you starve to death. It takes 15 minutes for them to make a chicken salad sandwich. - Very expensive compared to similar restaurants - I recently had a chicken salad wrap and a side of chowder and was sick for the entire afternoon Pros: - Food tastes good - Bagels and cream cheese are good - Back patio is nice Bottom line: Order untoasted bagels and bring them home. This is my go to breakfast place around town. It's great for a breakfast sandwich to go or a nice meeting place to sit outside on their patio and enjoy the best bagel on Cape Cod. I love their french toast bagel (delicious with egg and cheese) or their everything bagel topped with lox, onion, tomato, capers, and their lite plain. If you want a somewhat healthy breakfast, this is probably your only choice. Everything is fresh and fairly clean. They seem to have quite a crowd on mornings. The only problem is, they don't serve bagels. They serve rolls with a holl in them. Real bagels are heavy, have a tough almost crisp outer skin and are chewy. These are very light and not chewy. Also, skip the cookies, they aren't baked there or even close to fresh. I did enjoy the meal once I got past the actual bagel though. These are the softest, most fresh bagels I have ever had! For our short weekend on the cape, we went here both mornings. Besides your typical bagel with cream cheese or butter, they also make many different bagel sandwiches, salads, and baked goods. I had the asiago bagel (which seemed to be the most popular) with chicken salad. The chicken salad was out of this world. They also have a big backyard patio you can eat on. I can't wait to return to Falmouth so i can stop here again!!! read more

I have been a customer of cape cod bagel for many many years and love their sesame bagels with veggie cream cheese. In the past they used to put so much cream cheese on the bagels that you could probably give some extra to someone else, well for some reason today I got a bagel with veggie that barely had any veggie cream cheese on it at all. I wasn't going to write anything but I was thinking if I am paying extra money for veggie cream cheese it would be nice to actually have some on the bagel. Having worked in a coffee shop what amount I had on my bagel would be known as a schmere. I don't know if they are trying to save on costs but I must say I was very disappointed. read more

My favorite is the South of the Border breakfast sandwich on an asiago bagel - the jalapeno cream cheese is really the clincher here. Typically a positive experience that I have recommended . However, today after ordering an egg sandwich on toast-the order was prepared untoasted with no butter. When requesting a slab of butter; was told there would be an additional 40cent charge. I returned half the toast order and asked to speak with a manager. Her response was to ask me if I'd been to the grocery store lately and "it is what it is" . The point here is I generally spend10 to 30 dollars each time I visit.I don't really care about 40 cents. I love the bagels at this place. However, my experience today with one of their 20-something blonde employees was ridiculously unprofessional and rude. She was rude from the start and looked downright put-out that I was ordering something. I decided to comment on how grumpy she was in a playful way to try to get her to smile because who wants to start their day off getting a bagel from grumpy mcgrumperson. Not me, I WAS in a good mood. Her response was "Do you know where I came from?", in my head I was like, "no, genius, how would I possibly know that, that's a nonsensical question", but, I replied "no". She said "A wedding" and I was like oh, that's great, good time. She replied that she was hungover - I suggested coffee, she suggested a beer...oh, so, that's why you can be rude to customers. Okay, perfect, good excuse. What a little entitled, unprofessional, unintelligent child. Don't go here if you expect any kind of friendliness or professionalism. They have a variety of different bagels. I had a French Toast bagel, which was served warm and it was delicious. As a New Yorker, its probably one of the best bagels I ever had and that's saying something. This was a nice treat. My husband had some chicken salad sandwich and he said it was great! Times are a changing at the once best bagel place in the country, except for NY of course. I have been going here since day one and I remember the owner being around a lot and the place being clean, nice and friendly. I have been noticing lately the service is getting bad, real bad, slow and no personality of the workers. The decor is getting old and shabby and the place just doesn't shine like it use too. For example, the entrance door has been broken for a long time now, the mural on the walls are boring and old, the coffee is not the best anymore either. Good food, and usually good service, however, my family went in today, as we do most Sunday mornings, but today may be the last time. We placed our order, and my bagel was wrong, not a big deal mistakes happen, but when I went to the pick up counter to have my order corrected, there was an elderly lady asking politely for the bagel that she ordered but didn't receive. The girl behind the counter was Unnecessarily RUDE to the lady, and shoved the bag at her stating it wasn't her fault. When it was my turn, she looked at me and walked away. When I said, "excuse me" she rolled her eyes and ignored me while blatantly complaining about all of the customers. After about 5 minutes of listening to her complaints about paying customers, and being ignored so she could complain, I got aggravated and I told her it was unprofessional to be speaking like that. She snidely said "I don't care what you think. Go somewhere else then." So I think I'll take her advice. There are plenty of other places to eat where the employees treat their year round customers nicely. read more

Worst customer service I have seen in years. Waited in line for 30 minutes for a chicken wrap sandwich. After being told that the order numbers" were mixed up" and that my wrap was "being made next", I had the pleasure of watching the food preparer scratch her head and tuck her hair behind her ears all while handling my food. Oh...and she also answered the phone while wearing the same gloves! I was so horrified by what I witnessed that I cancelled my order and left. Came in for lunch and ordered a cheese and bacon sandwich. The food took a while to come out, in the mean time I waited outside. The food finally came and we ate outside. The napkins kept blowing away as we tried to eat. After we were done, the trash cans were mostly full and we could barely fit our trash into there. We also realized they had forgotten a pack of chips that went along with the sandwich. The food was pretty good, but the wait and other factors kept it at a 3 star. Fun selection of bagel and bagel sandwich combos ... some I'd not bumped into before - like peanut butter bananna and honey on bagel, egg, sausage, syrup on a bagel .... all bagels are tasty. Their honey wheat oatmeal bagel was awesome. They offer all sorts of lunch options as well that looked good. Service is OK. Gets crowded, so be sure to know what you want when you get to the counter ... Disappointed that they didn't have espresso/lattes, etc. - would have expected it from such a highly rated/popular bagel spot. (They do have a lot of flavored coffees, but not specialty stuff).
