This trip, my dad decided to take my husband and me on a very important "bread journey". We went down a few small roads that led to... a bread shed filled with the most wonderful, fresh-baked goods. We grabbed a classic sourdough, the roasted garlic sourdough loaf, and some cookies. Honestly, I would drive here every weekend if I still lived here! The sourdough is truly phenomenal. The roasted garlic loaf is a masterpiece. It's fantastic when toasted up with some roasted tomatoes and pesto. Just be warned: it's so packed with flavor, it's also a great way to ensure people stay a respectful distance from you all day long (hello, garlic breath!). I also got to try the banana bread brownies. I could do without the frosting, but the actual banana bread base is perfection. This is a great little spot to fulfill all your carbohydrate needs. It's best to follow on instagram to see what will be available for the weekend and either placing a pre-order or risking it all and stopping by when the shed opens to see what you can grab. It's consistently slow. I can understand waiting when a restaurant is packed, but we've experienced long waits even when there were very few customers inside. It feels like everything moves at half speed, and that's been true on multiple visits. I also think they're trying a little too hard to be Katz's Delicatessen. That's an incredibly high bar, and instead of trying to recreate that experience, I'd rather see them focus on becoming the best version of themselves. Right now, it feels like the ambition exceeds the execution. The one thing I will gladly compliment is the bagels. They've been excellent every time we've ordered them, and honestly, they're probably the strongest item on the menu. I do think there's plenty of room for improvement, which is why I'm giving two stars instead of one. There's clearly potential here, and I genuinely hope they find their footing because I'd love to have another great deli in the area. We'll probably give them another chance down the road, and I hope I can come back and update this review with a much more positive experience.

The staff was extremely attentive and helpful. It was great to see and hear "thank you for coming". They even gave me a free computer sticker which I completely appreciated. While the old hippie vibe of the original cafe is gone for a more sleek design, I still enjoyed the vibe. I don't know why I stopped going for a bit but from now on every time I am in Dartmouth, I will make it a point to make sure I grab one of my favorite coffees. I got The Reuben which had sliced corn beef, 1000 island dressing, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese toasted on marble rye. My husband chose the Buffalo Pastrami which had lean sliced pastrami smothered in buffalo sauce, melted Swiss cheese and topped with blue cheese dressing. We both enjoyed our sandwich very much.
