Our daughter who lives in Maryland looked this place up on Yelp and bought her dad a gift card for father's day. It was the best gift ever! The food is excellent and the service impeccable. He had the lobster grilled cheese sandwich and I had the lobster roll. I have traveled the northeast extensively since my parents had a summer home in Nova Scotia and have eaten plenty of lobster rolls, this place knocks them off the chart! Real New England seafood!! Moved here from New England a year and a half ago and have been looking for the real thing since then. The clam chowder is among the best I've ever had and the lobster roll was perfect. Lightly toasted bun, perfect amount of of mayo and the lobster was tender. I really don't know how to say this without sounding like I'm a whiner. First off I wouldn't give them one star let alone five. Sitting down for our first dining experience. We were seated on the outside patio. The menu was confusing to say the least. Should have left when we first looked at it. Ask the waitress some questions but she seemed unaware of the answers. I did order almond baked cod with two sides. I ask her what the sides were and she stated baked beans rice fries and green beans. I told her just give me double green beans because I was watching my calorie intake. She stated I could not have two sides of green beans causing me to think this was a rule. I ask why couldn't I have two green beans and she stated fries baked beans or coke slaw. Ok I said thinking this was a rule instead of being out of green beans she suggested a salad instead. I said great with ranch and she stated vinegar and oil only. Gees the second item I can't have. I said ok thinking I'd get salad and green beans as a side. Nope, salad instead is two sides is what I got. We had a laugh about the ordering while waiting for our food. The salad was good with baked cod cooked to a translucent color. I was literally afraid to ask to cook it more. Had unsweetened tea which we never did get refills cause she never came to the table any more. She did ask us if we wanted ice cream. We turned that down thinking they would only get one flavor. Just kidding but we did not get offered any more drinks. Come on man. Bottom line here is we're supposed to support small businesses but when treated this way. We even ask whom we thought was in charge about salad instead of two sides. He stated it's on the menu that way. I quests we have to study the menu more or better yet. They won't see me there ever again. Bottom line is to expensive ,bad service, and menu way out there. We are from NE and have been in Ft Myers for about a year now. We have tried several sea food places in the area and have been disappointed with all of them until tonight. Here Everything is fresh and imported from NE. Nothing fancy and it is BYOB. I got the fried scallop plate. I love scallops and am kind of fussy about them. They were huge, firm and sweet. Could not have been better. The owner obviously takes pride in his food. He gave us samples of the lobster/corn bisque and chowdha. Both were very tasty and perfect consistency not too thick, not too runny. I prefer my chowdha with more lumps of veggies but that is just me. Next time I will definitely order the bisque. My husband got the fish and chips. The cod was perfect. Servers were pleasant, helpful and friendly. No complaints at all. A bit more expensive than I would expect to pay in NE, but worth every penny. read more

I initially was excited to try lots of their items as I am a seafood lover and was very hungry and wanted leftovers. I called and asked many questions about their items to get the order right. It took until 8:30 on the phone as you will see from my pic to finish giving them a large to go order of nearly $100 with tip! It had to have taken them at least 15 min to prepare it. I got there at 8:50 to pick it up and my receipt shows that after checking the order, she rang me up at 9:00 pm. So food could have only been up for 15 min and since they were closed I then I sat and ate my food in my van. The lobster and clam chowder which weren't bad, they just weren't that great; both have chunks of either the lobster or clams but the cook has failed to build a complex flavorful base. Their small side salad is good with crumbled blue cheese and a homemade dressing. I also had a sm side of cole slaw and fries that were very good. The fried shrimp are large and good with homemade tartar sauce and the fried whole belly clams were so so. I had asked on the phone if the stuffed quahog clam consisted of mostly breading and was told no, but it is, with very few clam bits that were tasteless so I didn't eat but a bite of it. I tried to eat the steamer clams which were mostly good but I kept encountering bad ones with cracked shells which explains why they would have gone bad. I had 6 bad ones out of maybe 18? Not a good ratio and the texture and taste wasn't great on the other passable ones. I saved the bad ones to show the owner as I wanted to also complain that the mussels in garlic broth were totally inedible! The broth was good for dipping the garlic bread but after trying to eat 2 of the mussels and then spitting them back out due to their stiff texture and lack of any flavor, I gave up on them! Next I tried a couple of bites of the lobster roll that looked good but tasted bland and like it was on the verge of going slightly bad. I had ordered it with the intention of eating a few bites and saving it for lunch the next day. But it also had a very slight ammonia smell which is indicative that it's not super fresh. So I intended on returning that as well. By the time I finished eating it was too late to call them, so I did the next day. The owner was brash, rude, combative and denied that anything I said was true and was refusing to let me come by and show him the unbeaten mussels, large stuffed clam and lobster roll. I said "Ok, I'll just put that in my Yelp review." Then he said to come by and he'd refund me for those items. I drove all the way over there and waited with the food items as I was told that he was running an errand. He walks up and hardly looked or listened to my matter-of-fact statements in a calm demeanor before he said "You listen to me, after I spoke to you earlier, I called Yelp and told them that you threatened me if I didn't give you a refund. And they will punish and remove you for that and writing a bad review. I said that I didn't threaten him that I had simply said that I would put it in my review that he had initially refused to either replace the food or give a refund for it even though he hadn't even seen that it wasn't eaten, for good reason, and that if it was good then why wouldn't I eat it as I've had lots of lobster rolls and mussels before that I have loved. I said that I don't write false reviews. On the phone he had also argued that no way could any of the steamed Ipswich clams have been bad. I pointed out that often some oysters and clams are bad and that you don't know until you go to chew it. While at his counter with the uneaten food he said he wasn't going to give me a refund and threatened me like a mafia thug. I couldn't believe his attitude and said it was unbelievable that he had me drive over there and lied about giving me a refund. So I tried to take a picture of the returned food on the counter. The pic I took shows the whole order of mussels and the 6 bad steamed clams and the large stuffed clam. I was then trying to take a pic of the whole lobster roll that was in the closed container to the left in the pic when he quickly snatched all of MY food that I paid for into the trash can under the counter. My mouth was agape as in 55 years never have I encountered such a mean bully. I said that's not yours to throw out; how dare you try to get rid of the evidence that I was trying to photograph. If you're not refunding or replacing it, then you just stole what I paid for! He began threatening me more....that I had to leave or he'd call the police etc! I said he was low class & a bad person with low ethics, morals and standards. He started shouting things at me like who are you...with a trailer! I said I'm a vendor that has a trailer to hold inventory for festivals & how sad that he treats $100 customers this way! I left and he called the police anyway who approached me while sitting in my van writing this at the far end of the lot where Planet fitness is that I am a member of! read more

Well some establishments stick in your mind for good things and some stick in your mind for not so good things. The ones that stick out as not so good are those that have zero flexibility, those that defiantly are unbendable. In this day and dollar you consider the little things to keep guests coming back. Me and my beautiful wife shared a bowl Of the clam chowder for $8. Pretty good chowder with lots of clams in it. Then I ordered to traditional lobster roll that came on a nicely toasted roll with a good amount of lobster piled on. Not Much mayo but it was mixed with the lobster still very wet so the mayo ran all over the place. The lobster was nothing exquisite and certainly not $18 exquisite. Very bland. Not much flavor at all. This was touted "as flown in fresh from up north" but it resembled frozen tails From the grocery store. My beautiful wife had the 1/2 pound of whole belly clams at $20 and they were small and a bit greasy. Now what could have saved this visit and this review would have been this. I asked if it was possible to trade two sides for an order of truffle Parmesan French fries to tryNope can't do that. So then I ordered the lobster roll that comes with fries and then I asked can I pay extra to get the Parmesan truffle Fries? No you can't do that either? What? No option to Pay extra? Wow. But I could have ANOTHER order of of Parmesan fries added to my already comes with fries meal for $5 or large for $8. Really? No upcharge could get me Parmesan truffle fries but I can pay $5 for an order of Parmesan fries and throw my original order of fries that comes with the meal away? What happened to good business sense? What happened to taking care of the customer even when they want to give you more money? Sue started out strong with us but once it was apparent that we wernt going to open up Our wallets and dump them on the table the service seemed rushed and awkward. I'm sure that they will continue to do well with the tourists but with foodies maybe not so much. Sorry but we won't be back. I hope that the owner will consider this constructive feedback and consider some changes. read more

I can't tell you how many times I've driven by the Cape Cod Fish Company without noticing it was there! I had even heard about it, but just never saw the signage at the corner of McGregor/San Carlos. It's such a gem and I think it's fantastic. They have a great menu of delicious seafood - we had the clam chowder and lunch portions of the fish & chips and lobstah roll. Both were great. The lobstah roll was perfectly toasted with really great lobster salad, not too much filler! The fish & chips were perfect, really great fries and the fish pieces were flakey and perfect. It was a great price and loved how quick everything was when we stopped for lunch. Would absolutely go again. read more
