Shrimp Shack is the best run restaurant I have been to in a very long time. They work together to create a restaurant that flows smoothly. The food is amazing and is always top rate. The shrimp pops in your mouth, the fish is moist and delicious. The owners are usually at the restaurant and they work as hard as their staff creating a sense of pride among all the workers. I cannot say enough about the food here... always fresh always cooked perfectly. If you haven't tried it yet, you should give your tastebuds a treat and enjoy a great meal. The blackened shrimp bowl is one of my favorites and you can have the shrimp blackened, fried or grilled... Amazing. Shrimp Shack 8-27-25 Stopped by on Wednesday afternoon about 3pm. Place was not full but was clean and we got a booth right away. Jerry was our server was fast on answering any questions we had and taking our orders. We ordered a bowl of Clam Chowder for an appetizer to share. For the mains I ordered the Shrimp Lovers Platter Which has Grilled Shrimp Skewer over a bed of Yellow Rice, Shrimp Scampi, Fried Shrimp, 2 Hush Puppies and Cole Slaw. My wife ordered the Haddock Boiled with Fries and Salad. Our friend ordered a House Salad. Our Clam Clowder came out first with the Salads. The Salads looked great and tasted fresh. One thing I loved about the Salads they were cold. Our Clam Chowder was very good and packed with Clams and pipping hot. Our main orders came shortly afterwards. My Shrimp Lovers platter looked amazing. It was very good and very tasty. Even the Cole Slaw was good. I loved this platter. My wife's Haddock was very good and done just the way she liked it. Her fries were also good. All in all our food was very good, tasty and all was hot. Even Jerry checked on us filling our drinks and asking if we needed anything else. I really liked Shrimp Shack. The serving size of the Lite Popcorn Shrimp was plenty and very delicious! The hush puppies were very sweet when you dip them in honey and also very delicious. The Haddock had very large chunks of fish and was plenty for me. The onion rings and the mac n' cheese that my sister ate was really tasty. She described the mac n' cheese as creamy and the onion rings as very crispy. There was a lot of tvs to watch on to entertain all of us. I really liked the fisherman theme of this place with the fish nets and the seaweed. The staff was very friendly and attentive, and came out with the food when it was exactly ready. The waiter came out with our drinks very quickly. The bathrooms and the overall building was clean. No food scraps or trash on the ground. Overall, it was a good experience! read more

My Caesar salad was just delightful! Blackened shrimp was decent, served in a bowl with this "blackened" sauce that had no flavor. Onion rings weren't great, ironically the breading was seasoned, but fell apart. Hush puppies were obviously just filler to make the plate look more full. Haddock stuffed with crab was wonderful until the last 3 inches of the fillet had no crab and it was just flavorless fish. The fried green tomatoes were my favorite! This place is great--you will not be disappointed! The menu has so many choices that there's something for everyone. I took my cousin and my mom there because they're the only place around that makes the **best crab cakes without mayo**, which my mom can't have. Everything looked amazing. Walking in and seeing the plates at other tables, we were already saying "wow!" For appetizers we had the mozzarella sticks, calamari, and hushpuppies.... absolutely to die for. For our meals we ordered the crab cake dinner, a fried shrimp plate, and a cheeseburger. The fries and onion rings were great too. **Kudos to our server, Lisa Perkins**, for being fun, on top of her game, following up, and suggesting food items. She even made the best fresh 1/2 & 1/2 tea and brought out a beautiful, delicious-looking dessert tray. We were too full to try it this time, but we'll definitely be back and I kind of wish I had grabbed a piece to go, but my belly said no... haha! My wife and I like Shrimp Shack for simple good seafood dishes. Recently we had lunch and the dishes were well prepared and delicious. However, the lemon wedges I requested were bottom of the barrel. I met my friend for lunch here. Really enjoyed the atmosphere. Booth really nice and our server was very friendly. Due to my allergy that I have to mushrooms, I was unable to enjoy any coconut shrimp or any fried items like French fries. Because they fry all fried items in the same oil. My food was very good. There was neat fishing and island decor on the walls, which was cool. Also, nice setup of restaurant with various seating. When our server came to our table, she was very outgoing and fun. One of the people in our group had allergies to declare, and our server was very nice and helpful with helping them order food. Affordable seafood in this area. They don't have the Cajun style blackened, but they do have typical American style blackened techniques. I was visiting this place twice. Both time I got the blackened haddock. It is good pieces of fish with good half fish amount. Even though the blackened is not the spicy style but good enough. The dish come with two sides. I have the sweet potato fries, black bean, and rice. We got a bowl of clam chowder with a lot of clam meat. Soup amount is good. Our last dish is the grilled shrimp salad. We finally got to the Shrimp Shack, deciding to wait until season is coming to an end so there would be less people. I hear that's a good call because in season the place gets packed. After dining here, I can see why it's always crowded. We arrived around 6:30 pm on a Saturday night and surprised to be seated immediately. The overall restaurant is a good size with ample parking. It's casual and has cute decor inside. Our server was so pleasant and you could tell he's been working there a very long time. Being from New England, where we believe we have the very best seafood, it's hard to impress us; especially having already been let down by more than one self proclaimed "New England fish restaurants" in SWFL. Well, this one DOESN'T disappoint! We started with the NE style clam chowder, which I'm happy to report actually had plenty of clam chunks in it. It wasn't too thick and had a fantastic flavor. I had a cup and hubby had a bowl, $4.99 & $8.99. I felt the price for the bowl was high, but it was a generous portion. I just know that up north those same items would be more like $3.99 & $6.99. We had a lite portion of the clam strips as an appetizer. They knocked our socks off! They were the most tender and delicious clam strips I've ever eaten. For entrees I had the fried haddock & shrimp which was a generous portion. The fish was light and delicious and the shrimp were a good size and cooked perfectly. My choice of sides were green beans & coleslaw. The beans were really great, cooked soft, with a smoky bacon flavor (we call southern style). The coleslaw was good, but could use a little more something. I'm not sure what it's missing. Hubby had the scallops and he said they were sweet & flavorful. The onion rings are in the top 5 we've ever tasted. Great onion flavor surrounded by the lightest, crunchiest coating ever. The hush puppies: as a rule, I'm not crazy about these things. Having traveled frequently to NOLA and most southern states, I consider them to be greasy, lead sinkers with no flavor. However, these were really great! Not greasy, not heavy, and oh so light in the center. We could taste just a hint of cinnamon too. I would go back just for these. All entrees get a choice of 2 sides plus the hush puppies. We were so stuffed and took home enough for another meal. Unfortunately, we couldn't try any of the desserts but the orange cake looked good. We will definitely put this restaurant on our routine stops. read more
