We came here on July 4th, glad they were open. We started with their calamari, wife thought it was the best she's ever had - nice flavor with the sweet soy glaze. Their chowder was also terrific, not overly thickened and with a really nice thyme flavor. The lobster quesadilla had a really good flavor, my fish tacos were also very flavorful. We also had the baked cod special, very fresh. Seemed like a lot of local regulars came in also, always a good sign. Service was friendly. Order at the counter but the staff brought out food out to us (we had a large party), otherwise there's a counter to pick up. Nasty nasty nasty. I ordered the fried scallops dinner basket. The scallops were undercooked and they picked up the blue dye from the paper underneath. The waitress came to give us our check,looked down and saw that I hadn't eaten anything at all. She couldn't be bothered to ask if there was anything wrong with the meal. I didn't expect 5 star dining but even in the dinkiest of restaurants the waitress is at least concerned about the food. My husband had the fried shrimp, they were butterflied and lightly battered; you get 8 and they were quite large.....comes with 2 sides, their handcut fries are really good. I had the blackened salmon tacos, so tasty. They give you lots of salmon in the 3 tacos and it is covered with cabbage, avocado and a light sauce. My only negative would be that we were charged $1 more for each of our entrees than was listed on the menu. Service was a little slow, but very friendly. Really looking forward to some great fried cob but alas, hubby and I were both disappointed. The taste was bland. It reminded me of frozen fillets deep fried. Outside was crispy but inside seemed watery. There were 3 pieces which weren't large but basket was FULL of fries. One good recommendation from waitress was seafood chowder. The chef/owner delivered much of the food and was very interested in how everything was ... We had nothing to complain about but if we did I'm guessing he would have made it right. Yes, yes, yes!! My wife was wanting fried shrimp after a morning of jet-skiing. I found this on yelp and it did not let us down! Wife and I are staying on Sanibel island and I had a hankering for some seafood. There are of course a few places on the island but I found this place on Google and we drove over and damn I am glad we did. The food was amazing and the staff were also great and energetic. We started with the new England chowder and it was great. The cream base was not overly cream but just enough to get a great flavor. The clam were abundant and I have had clam chowder in New England that was not this good. The crueben sandwich was what I had for an entree. It is crispy cod with some slaw a pink tarter sauce with Swiss in a marble rye. This sandwich will cause you to moan like you are a porn star. read more
