First time here, and even though it's a chain (often indicates culinary mediocrity in my opinion), we had a great meal. My wife had New Bedford Scallops that were delicious, and I had the equally scrumptious Broiled Seafood Platter. Asparagus was perfectly cooked, and rice sides were great too. So very refreshing to eat fresh seafood that doesn't HAVE to be fried. Highly recommended. Will definitely return to try many other items, including what looks like some truly awesome desserts. My meal was just ok. Everyone else loved theirs. - I ordered shrimp and grits. It was hailed as the best around town. I thought was ok, and only had maybe 4-5 fairly medium sized shrimp in it. I base this on my wife's as I was given a fish taco I did not order. I did steal a bite maybe 2. I was on a conference call so just went with the punches and ate the tacos. They were decent but not what I was looking for. -bill was never corrected. As I was on a very important conference call that would make my year or break it I just paid and left. It was secondary to my conference call. - bill with tip was around a $100. I gave my wife 100$ bill to our and got a few bucks back. We are a family of 5 but my son is 3 and 10 year old daughter shared a chicken fingers and fries. My son who is 14 are us out of house and home with some crab platter and large bowl of soup. I am sure his meal was expensive. I am sure on another day my experience would be better. I just had a bad experience this time. My server was spot on with everyone else and our drinks were never empty and was attentive. My kids and wife say without the mess up on my food and over charge we would have given 5 stars. I don't give out 5 star reviews very often, but let me tell you, this restaurant warrants one! To start, our server, Richie, was literally one of the best servers we've had in ages! He was friendly , knowledgeable, and attentive. If I had a daughter, I'd be trying to set her up with him. But on to the food since that's why we are here. We started with the crab dip. Phenomenal! Full of crab and so creamy and delicious . The bread /pita dippers that come with it are out of this world. We each got a the house side salad with our meals. How the heck they make salad so amazingly delicious, well I have no idea, but the blend of crunch, and candied pecans and the perfect amount of blue cheese, came together like heaven. And the salad dressing, also amazing. I could have stopped at the salad and I would have been happy, but of course that didn't happen and the pleasure kept going. My husband got the salad to feel healthy and even he, the hater of all lettuces, was like "What the? This salad is delicious!" For dinner, I ordered the lobster and shrimp risotto. Well, I'm going to dreaming about it for years. I make risotto, I make excellent risotto but typically I order it out and it stinks. But this risotto was cooked to perfection. So creamy and flavorful, and then add perfectly cooked shrimp and lobster, and I was darned near having a Harry met Sally moment in the booth. I wish I lived here because I could have easily gotten two meals out of it. I was unable to finish it, and believe me it was so good, I tried. But part of being an adult is knowing when to stop, preferably before you split your pants, so sadly I had to leave some risotto behind. My husband ordered the shrimp and grits. He loved it. My boyfriend and I enjoyed an amazing meal at Cape Fear Seafood Company after our day trip to Wrightsville Beach! Service was also great and the atmosphere was casual. We had the Calamari Fritti appetizer, Figure 8 Stuffed Flounder (twin baked roulades of flounder stuffed with our premium crab fusion draped with lemon beurre blanc served with your choice of two fresh sides), and Lobster & Shrimp Risotto (cold water lobster tail & grilled shrimp over a brightly flavored scampi style risotto with fresh basil, roasted peppers, tomatoes & scallions). For the sides, we chose roasted potatoes and green beans with roasted tomatoes. Everything was delicious! I especially loved the calamari, crab cakes from the stuffed flounder dish, and grilled shrimp in the risotto. This was my second time having this restaurant since I'm not from the area, we decided to stop by again. I had the okra appetizer which was garnished with Parmesan cheese and a bistro sauce on the side....the okra was good, BUT THAT SAUCE!? So bomb! I was eyeing my grandma as should went for seconds on the sauce to add to her plate like "please save some for meee". Lol! It's really that good. I also got the clam chowder, wasn't really a huge fan of it, doesn't really have much of the classic clam chowder flavor, so I personally wouldn't get this again. For my main entree, I got the shrimp scampi with linguine, and I thought it was decent, nothing spectacular. The flavors worked well together, but it was pretty basic to me. I was driving from Jacksonville to Wilmington and what do I spy in a new looking shopping area, Cape Fear Seafood? Luckily I had not stopped yet for lunch. I was elated. I went to the bar since I was alone. A friendly bar tender got me an icy beverage while I reviewed the menu. I finally decided on the Shrimp Fra Diablo. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, the pasta al dente, and the sauce had the perfect heat. I paid and was out in 45 minutes. I was 5 minutes late, shhhhh, it's ok. My friends and I stayed in Carolina Beach for a girls trip this week, and were determined to enjoy our week at the beach with no cooking. The most cooking we did involved a blender and coconut rum. So we were excited to find Cape Fear Seafood Company. We got the Ben Franklin and it comes in a pot, so you just add your liquid and cook it on the stove. I was in the area after a beach trip to Wrightsville beach and made a reservation here for dinner. We were promptly seated. The dinnertime candles were a nice touch. Oh yeah, and there's free hot bread which I love. The portion sizes are decently big, and I was very full at the end of my meal. Decent pricing considering it's seafood which is expensive. Thoughts on food: Mussels appetizer were great in tomato basil sauce. You get a ton of mussels for an appetizer. Good deal and must try. Fried oysters were good, a lot of breading as is typical in fried oysters. I wasn't a fan of the margarita sauce--to each his own though. For my entrée I got the catch of the day which was salmon and got 2 sides of risotto and green beans+tomato. Salmon was excellent. Especially with the dipping sauce and seasoning it's like a match made in heaven. I eat a lot of salmon since I'm from the pacific north west and no lie, this salmon is GREAT. The tomato flavoring was excellent, which is also great paired with the green beans. The risotto--you get a ton of it for a side, but it's very creamy and rich and gets tiring after a while. None of my friends could finish our risottos. In the future I would probably skip the risotto and get another side instead. Altogether, I loved my dinner here. It's not cheap (~$20+ on a meal at least) but that's seafood for ya. Will be coming back if I'm going to the beach again! read more

Went on a Sunday for lunch. Bartender was helpful, we ordered the blackened bloody Mary's. Mix was good and they had the best garnish in town, 3 shrimp, 1 okra and 2 olives. As appetizers the crab bisque and fried Bloody Mary oysters, both were pretty good. For the meal, shrimp and lobster risotto which was the sh*ttttt. Also had the "Alaskan" crab legs which weren't anything special or fresh. Sides were good, risotto fried cake and green beans were good. All in all great lunch stop. This place was pretty good. It's a pretty restaurant with nice decor. It is a little loud inside and I think that's just from the design. I ordered the Soundside punch and I highly recommend it. It was delicious. We had hush puppies as an appetizer and they were pretty good. My husband ordered the shrimp and grits and the grits were honestly one of the best grits I've ever had. I had scallops with risotto and asparagus. The risotto was delicious. I usually love scallops but they were over seasoned with black pepper. The black pepper overwhelmed the delicate scallops and made them hard to eat. That's really why I gave them 4 stars instead of five. The manager Jeff and event director Destiny graciously took multiple calls about the seating arrangements and menu and answered all our questions. Seafood restaurant in a large strip mall complex with a Wal-Mart super center. Mid-size, mid-end restaurant, so it's not one of those places home style seafood shacks. Went there for a late Sunday lunch, and the place was half-filled. I ordered the shrimp and grits off the lunch menu. The portion wasn't big, but the dish was very tasty. Visiting a friend in Wilmington and she took me here for dinner. It was a Thursday night and we didn't have a reservation but a short wait at the bar was just fine. Service was excellent and atmosphere was very seafood-restaurant typical. I ordered a salmon dish with crab herb butter, creamy risotto and asparagus. It had several different options I could choose from such as mango salsa but I was very happy I choose the combination mentioned above. It was excellent (maybe even better than excellent)! The salmon was cooked perfectly and the creamy risotto was so tasty. The combination was just perfect including the small chunks of crab which were nice bonus to an already excellent dish. I finished every last bite! I highly recommend this place and would go back and get the exact same dish if given the opportunity.
