Food and Service outstanding drinks on happy hour always are very good after a long drive and wait at hotel.

The atmosphere felt dated--like it was pulled straight out of The Golden Girls, which could actually be fun if you're into that kind of retro vibe. The menu sounded really good, and we were seated promptly, so we were optimistic. Unfortunately, that's where the good experience ended. We waited and waited for our server, who eventually came out and said she didn't even know she had been assigned our table. She took our drink order and then disappeared for what felt like an eternity--longer than it should take to bring out two Cokes. By that point, we had already decided what we wanted to order. When she finally brought the drinks, she promptly turned around and went to check on her other two tables. She apparently didn't notice us again until we had finally decided enough was enough and got up to leave. I did let her know we were leaving because of the poor service. Instead of simply acknowledging the issue, she argued with me about it. Unfortunately, we never even got the chance to try the food. The menu sounded promising, but the service made it impossible to find out if the food lived up to it. read more

This restaurant was disappointing multiple times. We ordered multiple times and were not very impressed any of those times. At one point, I ordered from the tiki bar and the woman helping me there was extremely rude. The bar was shutting down early and it was a quiet day. She didn't seem to want to answer my questions. She was seemingly arguing with me about my payment methods, it was insane! Then our food came out without any plates, then they brought us 4 plates for our group of 8 people. I had to go into the restaurant to request more, even though we were eating at the tiki bar. The food was shotty at best. We ordered pepperoni, sausage, an mushroom pizza and all the sausage and mushrooms were in the center of the pizza in a big plop, even rolling off as we served the pizza. I couldn't believe it! So incredibly poor. We had to send the crab dip back, it was so fishy you could barely stand to sniff it. The worst part of all this is that an 18% gratuity was included in every order, including pickup. I don't mind tipping my servers and leaving a smaller tip when it's just a pickup, but 18% when you've had a terrible experience feels frustrating. read more

Food was so good. We started with garden and Caesar salads. Next, husband had the chicken and I ordered their signature dish, snapper. The snapper was best I've had since we have been in the area food was better than "Florida Seafood". We ended the meal with chocolate cake, it's a must to complete the meal. We had the Best waiter, he really made us feel like we were the only ones in the restaurant. He went above and beyond. We cannot wait to return. Definitely 2 thumbs up! The restaurant is in the Holiday Inn vacation resort. The first night just had the Cobb salad, which was pretty good. The bacon was a little chewy. Breakfast was ok, toast was cold and unbuttoned, sausage and eggs were ok. Service was excellent! All wait staff are exceptional. Except Judy, she was rude and doesn't seem to want to be there:-( The ambiance was nice. Not fancy, but clean. Bar was great also. I would go back if in Orlando again. read more

Waitress was great. However, the food was subpar at best. My salmon was completely overcooked, my husband's ribs were dry, and my son's pizza came out raw. The bottom was literally raw dough but the top was overcooked.... Not sure how that happened. They replaced the pizza very quickly. I didn't mention the salmon or ribs. They were having a rough day but, c'mon. I must commend Bridgette and Charlie were running and trying hard. Back of the house seemed to be having some issues. Hopefully just an off day. read more

The Cape Grill and bar is apparently "being remodeled" so we were told to order our food from the tiki bar...outside... and then eat outside... but it's bitterly cold and very windy this sixth day of December and there no place to sit out of the cold and wind . The Cape Grill and bar has plenty of EMPTY tables and seats and it's indoors and warm but we were brusquely told we cannot even eat inside because it "doesn't open until tomorrow" although the door is unlocked and there are plenty of tables and chairs. We do not recommend Cape Grill and bar. We are two senior citizens staying at the hotel and just wanted to be able to eat out of the bitter cold. We will not be coming back to this place!! read more

The food is good, the drinks are a little weak on the alcohol. Service has been a little hit or miss at the restaurant some of the people seemed like they weren't too happy to be working there. I hope that changes. It's a beautiful resort with great amenities. read more

On a recent visit to the Cape we decided to check out "The Cape Grill and Bar" located inside the "Holiday Inn Club Vacations Cape Canaveral Beach Resort". First off, the resort is gorgeous! although we didn't stay on property overnight, I definitely plan on coming back to explorer the resort another time. We only had an hour to eat so there was very little time to see everything this place has to offer. For a Sunday evening this place was dead. There was four of us and only one other two top seated in this big place. Our server was prompt and attentive. We informed her that we had a Groupon for the restaurant which she gladly accepted. We kept it pretty simple tonight. I order the fish and chips ($15) which came with coleslaw and french fries. My wife ordered the cape grille salad ($12) toppings include avocado, hard-boiled egg, bacon, cherry tomatoes and cheddar cheese. The fish was good but not the best I've had. Upon arrival it looked like a large portion of fish but once I dug into it, there was much more crust than anticipated. The coleslaw tasted like plain raw cabbage. No vinegar mayonnaise salt pepper or onion to bring out the flavor just blah. However, the french fries were hot fresh crispy and quite tasty. My wife liked her salad but felt they could have given her more for $12. Additionally, the avocado was a bit overripe which didn't make for an ideal presentation. Overall, the restaurant and bathrooms were very clean and the food was freshly made. Our waitress was personable and provided exceptional service. The food was good but lacking flavor and quantity for the price. We enjoyed our meals but wouldn't go out of our way to rush back for dinner. read more

We came here on a Saturday around 5 pm with some friends who had a Groupon. The restaurant is inside the Holiday Inn Vacations resort. We got there and we were the only people there. We were greeted by friendly staff and the waitress quickly took our order. The food here is expensive and you don't get much for what you pay for. My $12 dollar salad was certainly lacking and the fish and chips at $15 were nothing to write about. The restaurant was very clean and had plenty of seating. I guess this restaurant would be good if you needed a quick meal while staying at the resort. read more

We are visiting the area to see a rocket launch and we we're staying at this resort. The prices are a little high but at least we didn't have to get in the car and travel to eat. Place was clean. Service was good. The servings were good sizes and tasty. read more

This restaurant is located in our resort, making a good meal quick and fast. It's really quaint but capable of seating larger parties too. We arrived about fifty minutes before closing, no problem. We were greeted immediately by a very nice young lady who immediately escorted us to our table with a smile. We didn't want to keep the staff there forever so we ordered immediately. Started with the fish tacos and they were outstanding. The fish was grilled perfectly and they were topped with cole slaw and pico, very good indeed! I went with the grilled chicken Caesar, one of my favorite salads, it was great! They offer a variety of salads as well as seafood selections. The entire menu looked inviting however the dessert selection was limited , there were two desserts to choose from and one was not available. We stayed a week at the resort and ate here a few times for convenience. It isn't the cheapest but honestly by the time we load up and go somewhere, wait, eat, and drive back the cost is about the same plus less time spent. However that being said the food here is actually really good. While here for a week we tried the burger, cheese pizza, grilled mahi tacos, blackened mahi club, firecracker shrimp, the Philly, cheesecake and peanut butter pie. I would eat everything we had again. Contrary to what some have said the portions we got were good. Comparable to most places I've been. The food seems to be freshly prepared with quality ingredients. Definite plus for us as Holiday Inn Club members because we will be staying here again in the future and it's nice to have a good restaurant with a good variety to choose from. read more

The food was good. Service was good. Menu options good. We ate their twice. My problem is the deception. The tip is automatic on the credit card when you order and they do not tell you. Yesterday I left a cash tip not knowing and overheard other guests asking the bar tender how to leave the staff a tip. Today I needed change to leave a tip and my wife after much asking the woman that takes he order and payment the women reluctantly said it was on the bill already. If a restraint is going to add tips to the bill automatically even on a two person check we should be informed. read more

The bad reviews don't match our experience. Ate here twice while staying at the resort and had great service and good, reasonably priced food both times. The first time we were trying to get to the 7:00 magic show and placed our order at 6:30. The server got us in and out with tasty shrimp tacos and a kid's Mac and cheese (much better than Kraft!) Returned for a more leisurely dinner tonight. My husband's fried shrimp looked really good and the waitress offered a fruit cup alongside the kids fish nuggets, which were better than much more expensive ones at the Florida Fresh Grill the night before. My shrimp bowl with coconut shrimp seemed to be of good quality, but there was something about it I didn't love...the plantains maybe. Sitting outside offered great ambiance. If staying longer at the resort, we would probably eat here again. read more

They are either spot on with everything including in house eating establishments, or they are not. Located deep within the heart of the Holiday Inn Club Vacations Cape Canaveral Resort lies the apt named Cape Bar & Grill. The resort is beautifully kept and the grounds are meticulous, but don't let that fool you. What awaits inside hardly passes for food. My first clue as to the quality of the slop they were slinging in the kitchen should have been that I was the sole customer in the joint at high noon. As such, I couldn't for the life of me understand why the server, Erin, was running around like a chicken with her head cut off. Pausing briefly in her scurrying long enough to present me with a menu, Erin scuttled off promising to return anon. Carefully reading the menu, I thought it read well enough. They had your standard beach diner offerings from burgers, to tacos, to shrimp and steak. Erin returned looking rather out of sorts and I placed an order for one serving of the Blackened Fish Street Tacos and one Greek Burger. Double checking the order, Erin went to submit it to the kitchen crew and I took the opportunity to glance around. The place was clean, neat and empty. Man, was it cavernous in this joint. 15 minutes and still no sign of Erin and my food. I tap on my watch to make sure it is still ticking and lo and behold, it was operating just fine, thank you very much. Finally, after 24 minutes, Erin can be seen exiting the kitchen with our order. 24 minutes for two entrees at lunch...in an empty restaurant?? I know it wasn't the servers fault, she didn't cook it, so I didn't take it out on her and made a note about the poor work ethic put forth by whomever is behind the grill back there. As the Blackened Street Tacos were listed as an appetizer, I greedily dug in. And regretted it the moment I did so. The fish was overcooked and as such almost like chewing on a piece of rubber. The pico de Gallo may have been made in the back, however, they must have been on the last few tomatoes as they were a tad on the mealy side and over ripe. The lettuce was old, yellow and leaning towards wilted. I know rabbits that wouldn't eat this crap. The tortillas were, I am guessing, heated in the microwave as they did not taste as they should when heated properly in a pan on a burner. My problem with heating tortillas in the microwave is that it is often the case that the edges get slightly hard and this was the case here. Moving on to the Greek Burger. Please take a moment and take a quick gander at my photos of said burger. Yep, the picture is not lying. That is a non toasted bun. I asked for a toasted bun, I did not get a toasted bun. How hard is it to toast a bun? For 24 minutes I thought they might have been making the bun to order, but alas, that was obviously not the case. The meat patty was disgusting. It was pre-processed, pre-frozen and had fake grill marks painted on it!!! The Horror!!! If you guessed their purveyor of this gastronomical failure was Sysco, you guessed correctly, as the Sysco rep was on site pushing that low end garbage they claim as food. The patty was, as such, tasteless and had the consistency of a burger made two weeks ago and frozen...oh wait, it was. I think it had four nuggets of Feta and a few sprinkles of feta dust, but honestly, the taste was so horrendous, it was all I could do to force it down so I could give an unfettered, unfiltered food review. The tzatziki sauce was obviously not made on site and was the industrialized Sysco version. In other words, it tasted fake, processed and not unlike paste. Now for sure I have no idea what they were doing in the kitchen with my order for 24 minutes. With the quality I was presented with, I have no doubt at all that they were not cooking my meal that whole time. My guess is they were grabbing the slop, slapping it together and laughing at the idiot that was going to eat it. Sadly, in this case, that turned out to be yours truly. However, it's all good as I am here for you and not for me to begin with. The Big Boy says, "This is Swill not fit for human consumption, or animal consumption for that matter. My family and I absolutely loved this place. We visited Cape Canaveral from Dec. 25-31 and we went to Cape Grill & Bar as often as we possibly could. The first time we visited was on Christmas Day. We had been driving all day and when we arrived around 5pm, luckily, Cape Grill & Bar was open for some quick food to grab and go. The three of us all went for the beach burger (one of four items on the limited Christmas Day menu - totally understandable). The burgers were SO delicious! Even more so, the fries were so yummy as well. Great drinks too - I had the Sauza margarita bucket and it was mixed very well. The service was also outstanding! We went on to go back several more times during our stay and each and every time, the service was spectacular and all of the servers were over-the-top nice. We really appreciated their friendliness. In addition to the burgers, we later had the pizza, fish and chips, chicken tenders, Mahi sandwich, and lots of drinks. Everything was hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. Tried out the resort restaurant, had vouchers for food so we got a 8oz New York Strip and a 12oz Ribeye both topped with mushrooms (+$1) with garlic red potatoes and garlic buttered green beans. Steaks were cooked perfectly and food was served quickly. I don't believe the place gets packed. read more

I know this place didn't get good reviews but we are staying here and wanted breakfast before the kids club. I have to say for breakfast we were pleased with the food. My wife got the breakfast sandwich $7.49 and I got the starter which is 3 eggs, bacon, home fries and toast $7.99. My son had the mini pancake kids breakfast $4.49 and it was a large breakfast for a kids breakfast. One pancake, one egg, and a slice of bacon. All of this for a total of $26. For a hotel or actually anywhere for breakfast it's a good deal. We haven't eaten here other than this so I can't comment yet. read more

We live in a nearby condo complex, so my wife suggested we walk over to the Holiday Inn Resort to grab an early dinner. We arrived just before 5:00pm on a Monday - in time to enjoy Happy Hour priced drinks (Happy Hour 4-7). We ordered $2.00 draft beers and shared chips and salsa. They were pretty good, not bad for $3.99 and a good portion of chips. The salsa was meh, but we were satisfied. We shared a bacon cheeseburger with fries (we're practicing portion control, lol!). Glad we did because the burger was pretty good sized and a decent portion of fries, too. All in all, a perfectly acceptable experience that will make us return. BTW, my wife remarked how clean the place seemed. Check it out, especially if you're in Shorewood, Solana or camping at Jetty. read more

What a lack luster experience this was, Katelyn at the bar was pretty rude to us. At first I was shocked by her brash and snippy comments, but when I took a step back and witnessed how poorly run this place was, I would have been as jagged at Katelyn was- still no excuse to treat Customer the way she treated us. Upon walking into the run down entrance way, they was no hostess or direction of what we need to do. As my family and 4 other families just stood like blind sheep in the front entrance waiting and hoping for someone to herd us to the right place, we got scolded out by Katelyn to sit at any table, look at the tv for the menus then walk back to her and order. A 10¢ print out and a $15 sign holder would have suffice of the direction, not having a yelling match from behind from a frustrated employee. We all dispersed like the good sheep we were and sat down, only to find a QR code to get the menu taped to the tables center- which all tables were dirty with glass rings and sticky surfaces, after looking at four we just sat down and cleaned one ourselves, we then found what we wanted to eat and drink- waited again in line to order at the bar, to them be told they have no landshark or grey goose- hence the need for someone to come to the tables- the amount of business would have deemed help. Finally a manager came to the front to write down our orders, that an entirely different level of disappointment- I am guessing forget to submit put order since it came to our table 20 mins after the other couple we were with got there, who ordered after us, Essentially we ordered the same things so not sure what happened can only assume the manager forget to enter ours. All in all, this place is a hard pass, food sucked, service was nonexistent and we get charged 18% tip- so no wonder why Katelyn could care less- she was getting her tips regardless of her service/ we came here to change it up with going to Grills a mere mile down the road. Do yourself a favor and hike that mile, it is worth it 100%, to not "experience" what we just went through. read more

All you can eat crab legs on Friday means you will not get fresh crabs, they were cold, and you will go home hungry because the servers won't stop to give you more crabs when finished with your first order. If you aren't staying at the Holiday Inn Cape Canaveral Resort, find another spot to eat. Go over to the port and eat somewhere with a great view. This spot has a nice outdoor bar in the pool area, but that's the best thing about it. The food is just average, and so is the staff. To be fair, some of the staff members are awesome, but as a whole they are just okay. We've been here twice this stay, and we had slow or snippy servers both times. But, on previous stays, we've had great servers who are still with the restaurant, so we know good servers work here. The jalapeño poppers and other "bar food" items are tasty, but they're definitely out of the bag/into the fryer foods. Basically, they're foods that are hard to mess up anywhere. It is convenient if you are staying at the resort. That is the only reason we go and the only reason we'll go back. read more

The location was hard to beat, staying at the resort, so first we went for Happy Hour (5-7) and got bacon cheesy fries for a snack. YUM! So later in the vacation we decided to go for a meal, since it's so easy and right by the pool. The burgers were all really good--even by non-vacation standards--and the fries were great. The beer selection is broad and varied, the rum drinks mixed to perfection, and Happy Hour happens EVERY DAY. Really, is there anything better than eating great food by the pool? read more
