My first trip to Cape Gun Works was for the LTC class. The experience was not at all what I expected. Let me explain. I'm a woman and a senior. I was welcomed and waited on and not once did I get one of those side glances that I see all too often in many businesses. I took the class and acquired my LTC. Wanting to purchase a gun, I visited the store again and the staff helped me select a pistol that I felt comfortable with. The salesman encouraged me to take a private lesson to help me feel confident in the handling and firing of the pistol. I booked a private lesson with Glenn Wilcox and can't say enough about him. He taught me the skills I needed to walk out feeling like "I got this". Glenn is smart and knowledgeable but more importantly he made me feel important. We are so lucky to have this place on Cape Cod! They should really call it Cape Gun works school, I have learned so much here and I am grateful for the professional instruction and the sage advise from all the employees. Recently I joined Girl with a Gun shooting league there, and I had a semi private Lesson with Nichole also. I gained a ton of confidence from the lesson and from the Girl with a gun shooting league. ( and I had a blast too, shooting with these women LOL) . Recently I have been attending A Girl and A Gun League Nights. Nichole is the facilitator of AGAG nights she also has a Range Officer helper Victor. I was extremely nervous at my first league night. Meeting new people in an environment that is unfamiliar was intimidating. From walking in to our first shots - Nichole was super friendly, knowledgeable and patient. Some ladies were very comfortable with their guns and some, like me, were still getting to know their gun. Never did I feel like I didn't belong or that my lack of knowledge held me back. I've visited ranges and training facilities all over the US and I have to say this is one of the best. It is not *the* best since there are ones with more nice appointments but they cater to high-end clientele with much higher pricing. For New England, CGW has the perfect balance of value, charm, friendliness and expertise whether it's taking a basic class or more advanced self-defense course, repair, antique appraisal, trade-in, range specials and memberships as well as the digital simulator. selection is very good here and if not available then can be ordered. the service is excellent here as well. the range people are very helpful with trials of pistols as well as instruction when you need it. I have taken a couple of classes and thank you for that as it makes me more comfortable with my pistol. the convenience of picking up some am ammo there at the desk makes things easier as well. just a note the time listed on the phone says range is open until 8 when it is 7. don't know if that's a seasonal thing but wanted to let you know. thanks for being there. read more

Went to CGW for 'Date Night' and had a great time. The staff demonstrated a 'safety-first' mindset, were super helpful and were good teachers. This is just what someone who is considering the purchase of their first firearm needs and should look for and CGW delivers on all of these points. I had shooting instructions with Nichole. She was very informative and professional. I was very comfortable with her. Nichole had a very strong but warm way about her. She went through the safety steps then we went in to shoot a gun I had never shot before. I was a bit nervous but her instructions kept me calm. I definitely would recommend her to any first time shooting enthusiast. I think I want to join the woman's shooting League now. read more

I went in for a private training session. Glenn was my instructor. Glenn was extremely thorough, patient, and had a way of explaining that made my confidence strong after completion of my instruction. I feel comfortable in handling the gun safely and I will continue practicing what I was taught. My husband recently got his gun permit and wanted some one on one time with an instructor on how to properly use a gun. I went with him for the ride and ended up joining his "private" class! Glenn was clear, concise, and added insightful firearms extra safety tips that resonate for those 21to golden agers. Went to Cape Gun Works to have accessories put on. Beau put on my red dot and sighted it in. He put on a maglock and a cloud system flashlight! As usual he does phenomenal work!
