After many (many) calls, Cape May did not ultimately return money owed for an application fee that was paid, but not ever applied, and explained that I would receive the money if "I didn't already cash the check". Unacceptable - If Cape May were owed $62.02, care would be taken to ensure this debt were reported to the 3 credit bureaus. I expected the same level of care for money that is owed to me - The applicant for which $62.02 was paid, never applied, and I was thus charged $62.02 for an application that did not take place read more

YOU CANNOT HAVE ANYTHING OUTSIDE OF YOUR DOOR! Not a small statue, not your shoes, not a single decoration, but sure they'll let you put a plant out there. To be paying close to 3k for a tiny apartment with smoke from tenants below, coming through my windows, and not be able to put a single decoration or personal item, outside the door, in the corners, is insane! And it was not an issue UNTIL they had to rent out the unit next to me. Because ya see, they don't care about current tenants, just new ones. My family and I rented an apartment at Cape Maye for four months while waiting to close on our home, and the way we were treated on the way out was incredibly disappointing. I had no issue paying the $5,000+ early termination fee--that was clearly outlined in the lease, and I honored it. What's unacceptable is everything they piled on afterward. They kept our entire $1,000 security deposit, charged over $600 to repaint the entire apartment (which was completely unnecessary based on the condition we left it in), and then had the audacity to send us to collections over an additional $60. All of this after we had already paid thousands to break the lease. It felt less like standard policy and more like squeezing every last dollar out of tenants who don't have the time or ability to fight back. In my case, I couldn't take time off work to do a final walkthrough with their maintenance staff, and it seems that was used to their advantage. This wasn't a misunderstanding--it was an experience that felt predatory and excessive. If you're considering living here, be very careful. AMAZING STAFF! AMAZING COMMUNITY! While applying, I had difficulty with the application which was very confusing for me as I am not tech savvy. All 20x I called the office, Laura, Nelson, and Debbie took turns helping me complete my application and did not sound bothered to help me. My move-in was so easy as Nelson reminded me of all the extra fees to expect which are only a $70 HOA and Utilities that include a $28 trash butler service (which I need because of my knees). Nelson also let me know about DOUBLE POOLS!, TROLLEYS!, and a Convenience store RIGHT ACROSS the Street! Great amenities! I also felt welcomed when Nelson and the managers Debbie, and Laura welcomed me by saying, "Welcome Home!" I am loving this office staff! When I moved in, I noticed my Garbage Disposal wasn't turning on. I was worried because my sink wasn't draining. I remembered Nelson told me it was a 48-hour turnaround. I couldn't wait 48-hours since my sink was backed up. When I submitted my work-order, I prayed that I would get helped that day! I got a knock on my door 20mins after submitting and it was the Maintenance guys! Sergio and Jaime fixed my garbage disposal in 15 minutes. They were also kind and funny people to talk to. Great Experience, I am very confident in the maintenance staff as well! To the main manager (It's either Laura or Debbie) You have both created a great culture here at Cape May! I chose this particular apartment complex for the award winning school district and convenient location. When looking for an apartment, don't bother applying here. The staff in the leasing office are deceptive and have no sense of ethics or integrity. When you apply, it's a requirement to pay a "holding fee" in addition to an application fee prior to your application being approved or denied. I was told by Clara that it was a requirement to pay the holding fee to apply and that if my application was declined for any reason that my holding fee would be returned to source of payment. My application ended up being denied and guess what.. still no money has been returned and it's been almost two weeks. When I called about it, the assistant manager stated that the check was cut & sent to me the previous day and should be arriving soon (by the next week). Indicating that the money would be mailed to me instead of being returned to my source of payment. Like that makes any sense. Granted, she did say that the process normally takes 14 to 20 days, but she specifically told me that the process would be sooner since the check was already sent at that point. A week later, still haven't received my money back. When I contacted the office, Clara was argumentative and attempted to lie to me and tell me that she disclosed to me the return process at time of application. She did NOT. If she disclosed that it would be this difficult to get my money back, I would have NEVER applied in the first place. When I spoke to the assistant manager again, she told me 30 days for a return! That's insanity. The amount of backtracking and gaslighting those office employees do is insane. For the assistant manager to tell me that this is "normal" and that all apartment complexes charge obscene holding fees was ludicrous. I've rented at two other complexes before and have never had to pay a "holding fees" just to apply for an apartment and see if I'm eligible. Holding fees and deposits aren't asked for at other complexes until AFTER they determine you qualify at all of the other properties that I've toured and considered applying to. The assistant manager then tried to tell me that she never told me that my money was mailed and that I would have to wait another two weeks to see if I receive it. Do NOT give these people your money. Just don't. There are plenty of other properties that operate with integrity and don't try to gaslight you after you hold them accountable for lying. And there's plenty of other properties that don't charge obscene holding fees before you're even approved for the apartment to begin with. read more

Laura Garcia is not qualified to be manager. We paid money to reserve a unit a month ahead, and sent all thebproper documents to Clara, proving we make enough income. I'm a disabled veteran and I feel like she is discriminating against me. I'm protected against the ADA. Laura needs to be fired immediately she is losing the company money and turning away qualifies renters she because she feels like it. Clara should take Laura Garcia position as manager. We will be calling HOA, and getting a legal attorney to take her to court for discriminating against and epileptic disabled veteran that served our country. Laura Garcia u are an evil human being. I loved that they took the time to clean off my porch and the stairs. For some that may not seem like much but I definitely appreciate how they are working to keep our homes in order. My husband and I moved in almost a year ago. We got a notice that rent was being raised (expected) and the question you ask yourself is "is this place worth what they are raising rent to?" And the answer is no. As much as they want these to be "luxury" apartments they fall short in every way. The location is the only benefit and the amenities are alright. The dog feces is what makes living here a horrible experience. Management needs to re-evaluate the types and number of dogs they allow in their apartment. Two of our downstairs neighbors allow their dogs to defecate and pee all over the concrete. One Neighboor, has three dogs who do this. You can only imagine the smell! It's so bad that when I pull up in my car I can smell it through the vent. When I walk out my door the smell is putrid, even when the feces is "picked up" the smell still is there. Our second downstairs neighbor husky jumped over the gate and almost attacked my husband until the owner ran out. Aside from this, there's been huge dog feces on the concrete in front of our car on multiple occasions. And I'll say this, yes it's apartment living, I'm not expecting perfection. I hate that I even have to say the dog feces is enough of a reason to consider another place with better infrastructure (indoor luxury apartments with doors in enclosed hallways) 2,100 was worth it but for 2,400 I'll find a luxury apartment that doesn't reek of poop I would like to add to this review and encourage everyone to not rent here. We have made numerous calls (6) to speak to a manager about our security deposit. We were charged wrongfully for deep cleaning and a repaint of the entire apartment. WE NEVER EVEN PUT HOLES IN THE WALL. we had no pets, no children and we're not smokers! The apartment outside was covered in dog shit and we had to endure this everyday. Along with trash outside the apartment. We have to call multiple times a day and have not got a response to discuss. We have every intention to get a lawyer and take this to court. I have lived here for 5 yrs and moving now. I just want to thank the entire staff and maintenance team for there hard work and attention to detail. I had no issues with communication or repairs the entire time living there. I felt the amenities were always clean and was able to have my kids birthday parties at the pool. Update--spoiler alert: it gets worse. We've been moved out for two weeks now and they did not send us our full deposit back because apparently the entire apartment suite needs to be painted due to "wall damage". Due to us only having lived there for 3 weeks, (mind you, we did not even set up our beds fully and kept them away from the walls because everything was so dirty when we moved in we weren't comfortable with our bedsheets & pillows touching the walls) I fail to see how that's our problem. They took the money used for "paint" out of the check they were supposed to send us--and proceeded to tell us if there was something in the mail from them to us not to deposit it because "they accidentally gave us too much"?? How does that make any sense? We caused absolutely no wall damage, and will be sending evidence of the state of the walls before we left. I never had any problems with the management team and they have been nice.... I love Harveston lake area... yes! It's always have been my dream area to live at.... but is this place worth 3,300.00$$ a month for a none updated apartment no! I wish I got to see the unit before I moved in... because I would have said hard pass!! Only been here for 6 months and I have been dealing with all kinds of messed up things... water heater already went out and was flooding... and they charged me for the water.... mold growing... when they fixed it my back patio got destroyed!! With rust water! .... nothing was cleaned when I moved it... door knobs were broken... rust on all the bathroom fixtures.... nothing updated to the new market price... my washer and dryer barely works.... things were completely worn-out and down from the previous tenants.... it was completely disappointing and dirty... screens with holes in them... and on the checklist paperwork I wrote all these things down.... dog poop everyday right outside of my door shudders on my building are peeling ... beautiful trees not being kept up... and shaped.... at this point the only thing they could do to help me and make me feel better would be to completely move me to one that is updated and meets the worth of that true cape may feel like the pictures they post and the luxury in there office... because when you put more than 7,000$ down!! And over 3,300$ a month! You shouldn't feel like you should have looked elsewhere. read more

If there was an option for no stars, I would have picked that. The apartment grounds could use a good power washing. Ever time we walked up the steps the our apartment we were grossed out with how dirty it was, with spiderwebs, random spots and just overall really dirty. The inside of the apartment was dirty when we got it and the floor had a lot of random sticky spots that I could only get off with alcohol and a scraper. Bathroom counter way too small for a main bathroom and the kitchen counters were also small and had a hard time cooking due to lack of space. The water coming out of the pipes smelled really bad too. I think there was mildew in the bathroom because I could smell something musty. This apartment seemed like it was built in the 80s but it wasn't. They also like to rip people off and nickel and dime them as much as they can. Worst experience ever! read more

When there is an issue/problem they "get on it" immediately...plus...they don't just fix a problem they do it with a smile...The maintenance staff is very visible, capable, and knowledgeable. I would also like to commend Judy, the Assistant Manager at Cape May. Judy is knowledgeable ...resourceful...helpful...caring... approachable. She works with all the residents ensuring their needs are being met in a timely manner and helping in any way she can. She is always there for "you" the resident. How do I know this? Because I live here in a beautiful ...roomy...two bedroom...two bath Cape May Apartment. During the last four years I have had the opportunity to observe Judy and the maintenance team in action... What's the deal with Greystone? Do they only hire snobs that look down their noses at you? I've been looking for a new apartment and every place had people who been very nice and helpful. Except Greystone. This is the second property of theirs where I've encountered this type of thing. I arrived to look at their apartments. I was asked my budget and gave them a number. The figure I gave them was in line with the area. It turns out they're charging $300-$500 more than other similar places (still within my budget). Once I gave the number the whole attitude changed. I was shown the smallest, cheapest apartment they had. I think it was the cheapest because they couldn't tell me what the rent would be. They just skirted around the price, it depends on the location, what parking spot it came with, etc. What they showed me had the washer and dryer out on the balcony. I was told other floor plans had them inside. I asked to see that and was interested in their two story apartments. Instead, I was driven back to the office, asked if I had any questions and summarily dismissed. If you come here, drive up in a Mercedes or BMW, wear your best clothes and throw around a few hundred dollar bills. Maybe then you'll get treated decently. read more

I'm a resident here at Cape May Apartments at harveston I've been here for 3 years and I love it if you're looking for people who care about what you say and feel that's here at the cape. The management here are very professional very friendly and love to laugh. They throw great parties at Halloween and Christmas and that's kid friendly. The apartments themselves inside are done with the highest taste and quality and I'm a very picky person and I have to say they meet all of my expectations I also have to give kudos to the service maintenance people here on the property thank you. read more
