If Willow Creek winery is closed and you're tempted to go to Cape May winery as a consolation, do yourself a favor and go buy a bottle of wine and drink it at home. The whole set up is confusing. You have to wait to get seated, but then you have to go order your drinks and your food separately a la fast food restaurant vibe. And when I say drinks and food separately, I mean, order food in one line and go to a separate line to order wine. No opportunity to have a taste before you commit to a glass if you want to try several different whites or several different reds you have to order a flight. Because nobody's pouring you a sip and asking you what you think. I'd have had a better experience drinking a bottle of wine at home. read more

This winery is open all year round and has a fabulous wine tasting room. Very comfortable atmosphere with a fireplace going in the cooler months. Fantastic assortment of wines for tasting. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful in guiding you in suggesting what wines you may like and will make recommendations for your sampling. They were right on the money. The vanilla port was amazing. We have been here many times and totally enjoy our experience. They offer cheese and delicious tapas to purchase in the gift shop area to have with your wine tasting. Many wines from Cape May Winery are offered in local restaurants that are BYOB. My favorite time of year to visit is Spring and Fall. The guided tours are very interesting and fun with a group. Fantastic spot! We went here tonight to see some live music and so my wife could have some wine flights. Such a beautiful place. We sat outside. It was a perfect date night. We got some tuna tacos and some delicious salads. Filling too. The tacos were in won ton hard shells with avocado inside. Very creative. I got a blueberry mock tail that was really good and not too sweet. A lot of times they go too hard on the sweetners with non alcoholic stuff. We hung out here for close to 3 hours. CAPE MAY: we were truly charmed by Cape May Winery and, although no surprise, visiting this spot reinforced that there are great small businesses and how we really have it all here in New Jersey! Leashed and friendly dogs are allowed at designated areas, so check with the host to be seated. Open daily throughout the year, come for the wine made from their own farmed grapes and stay to enjoy a tapas-inspired food menu, and a stroll amongst the Napa Valley-like grounds. We really got lost in the beauty of the place and the sense of whimsy and magic. We enjoyed a bottle of one of their white wines and you can also order by the glass or in a flight for a wine tasting. I wish I loved this place as much as the other reviewers. The grounds are very pretty. We came in and didn't realize how to get a table and everything said reserved. You have to go see the hostess. Finally a staff member helped us but we didn't get a seat outside which we wanted. I did a white flight and my mom did a red flight. She liked one of her wines and bought it. On 10/10 my husband & I took a trip to Cape May Winery for the first time! Now not a lot of NJ wineries impress me but this winery is definitely in my top 3 favorites! The wines were very flavorful & not overly sweet! The outside accommodations were lovely & so much room! The indoor sections were also spacious and lovely. If we had not been on a budget for our wedding we both agreed this would have been a top contender for a venue to get married at! The staff was very friendly & welcoming! Beautiful Vineyard with a lot of outdoor seating. Came out of season so I was unable to see the winery at its peak. This place is quite busy, but there are still a lot of places to sit. Came during a weekend so there was live music making it more enjoyable. You order your food and wine in a certain area and receive a beeper thing when it's ready. The wines were very delicious and I enjoyed the wide variety that they had to taste. I definitely went on the sweeter side vs dry this time around, which I did not regret. The food was very delicious, but of course the portions were not that large. I got the polenta and chicken sliders which were delicious, but I felt it was a tad over priced. Regardless I would still come by here again during peak season for the more scenic views. read more

This winery was a serve yourself, not bad for them but when you're seated at the back building and have to walk your wine and food back to your own table. Hands full, trying not to spill, maybe ask for front seating next time! Not the best and most ideal concept, but overall food was okay. Better than most winery food i've had. Beautiful grounds. A lovely place to walk and take photos in nature. The tasting room was equally as beautiful. As was the outside patio. Lots of places to enjoy your food. The staff was so patient with me as I picked my drink. I could've easily gotten a flight but opted to just get the Isaac Smith Apple. I LOVED it!! They have a good selection of food to pick from. I chose the Nashville Hot Slider. The lady working that section was the friendliest!! I wished there were all as sweet. The sandwich had a great crunch but it wasn't hot at all and I could hardly taste ANY sauce. Maybe they need to rebrand it and say fried chicken sandwich so there's no expectations. Loved it here! Really pretty winery. We each had a flight and I liked all the wines I had. I did the estate flight. My favorite was the white blend. I thought the prices were really reasonable. Our charcuterie board was really nice and had great variety. Everything I tried was really good and the lavender honey was amazing! You can buy it by the jar. Love this vineyard in the summer, but I also love that they stay open year round and have indoor seating! We came here to celebrate my mom's birthday in January. It was so fun! The spring/summer is super crowded here but we were pleasantly surprised that it was empty! The worker pouring our wine said that Sundays are usually quieter than Saturdays year round, so keep that in mind! I tried the sauvignon blanc and cab sav reserve. Both were great, but I think I preferred the red, even though I'm normally a white wine girl. I was pleasantly surprised! Definitely a must visit when in Cape May! read more

Came here a little before closing. Nice lobby area with some cute things you can buy. Go inside and there is seating and couches. We ordered wine flights at the counter, which has a beautiful fountain on the wall behind the counter. The employee poured our wine into three glasses (we both got the red flight) and we took it to our table in the sun room area and seated ourselves. Nice area that would definitely be fun when its warmer out with a garage door that opens up. We had a great view of the vineyard and the barn in the back. Overall it was a very pleasant experience and our last stop in Cape May. Would definitely go back to get more wine! read more

I recently had the privilege of visiting this local winery. It was so nice to be greeted by staff who love their business and are passionate about wine. We took a tour of the beautiful grounds, tasting area, and gigantic production facility which was set up for special events. The winemakers described what was currently in the barrels and even gave us a sampling of what wines will be bottled. There was a wide variety of wines for sale to please every palette. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The tasting rooms were decorated beautifully and made you feel instantly welcome. I left with several bottles and will be back again to enjoy a glass of wine in their beautiful tasting rooms. This is a great way to spend the day on your way to the shore. read more

Absolutely stunning winery with great wines! I was in the area with a girlfriend for a wedding, and we decided to do some exploring. We both love wine so this was a logical choice! What a gorgeous location! The inside is just lovely with wine tasting and a cute store and places to sit. Then outside there are a ton more places to sit- there is a hostess stand where you can order wines and get an assigned table.We sat outside at a lovely table in the sunshine. There was live music by a really talented musician, tables of friends and families, kids enjoying their time too, and what looked to be tasty food (we didn't have any food). The wine was so good that we ended up checking a suitcase on the way home so it could come home with us. read more

We decided to stop in to this winery on our way back to our home. When we arrived around 3pm on Saturday, it was packed! The entire lot was filled with cars and buses and there was a line to get in. We waited in line for about 15-20 minutes to be seated. It is a self-service winery, so there is little to no interaction with the employees. We were seated outside by their barn. It was pretty loud since there were multiple parties in our section. You have to walk to the winery section to get food and drinks. We got the red flight and white flight. We didn't have any food here since we had gotten lunch right before. The white flight wines were not very good unfortunately. The Chardonnay was very sharp and not very enjoyable. I did like the lighthouse white, it was very sweet. I did end up buying a bottle of the lighthouse white to bring home. My fiancé enjoyed the Cabernet the most from his red flight. The winery was very pretty and had lots of seating. I didn't like that there was no interaction so you didn't learn about the winery or history. I was happy we tried it, but I don't think I would go back due to the quality of the wines. read more

So this winery exceeded our expectations for a NJ vineyard. We came in on Monday 11/13 for a quick tasting before heading back to New Brunswick & we were pleasantly surprised! The tasting was $10 for 6 wines in a guided tasting. The guided tasting (I can't remember his name!!) was great. He was very enthusiastic! We had anticipated the wine to be alright, we don't find many wineries in NJ that are worth it. Honestly, it was pretty solid! We liked the Unoaked Chardonnay (crisp), the Stone Series Pinot Noir (light), and the Cabernet Franc (seems like it would be great with a fatty steak!) The winery is gorgeous inside. Very chic and warm! We peeked in and decided to just grab a glass (we ended up getting a bottle because it was cheaper that way). We ended up enjoying a glass in the greenhouse-like room by the fire with a view of the vineyard. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth a stop! read more

This property is absolutely gorgeous, but I've never been more confused visiting a winery. They must have a reason behind their procedures, but it was a bit annoying for a first time visitor. The front parking lot was full, so our first mistake must have been entering through the back. We walked inside and up to the wine bar. They let us look at the menu for a few minutes and then asked if we had seen a hostess yet. We had not and the signs said self-seating on Thursdays. I guess not? So we had to leave the wine bar without ordering, wait in line at the hostess to be seated in a far away room (we wanted to sit outside near the barn) and then walk back to the wine bar after getting a table. Guess what - now there was a line of 10 people at the wine bar. I didn't quite get the wait in one line to wait in another line procedure - especially on a day when there seemed to be plenty of seating open and the winery was only open for another hour. We tried both the red flight (red blend, merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon) and the mixed flight (rose, oaked Chardonnay, red reserve). I was not impressed with the wines, but if anything I would've purchased a bottle of the red reserve. read more
