WILDWOOD: Of course, our first official destination on our trip had to be a brewery and we really enjoyed Anglesea Aleworks! Leashed dogs are allowed in their tasting room anytime. We enjoyed the Hubie Hefewiezen, Cooler Corn Cream Ale, Stacy Sour, and the Hard Birch Beer. There are over 12 beers on tap with some standards and rotating seasonal options. The indoor tasting room is spacious with bar seating and high-top barrels. There are TVs to watch the game, an art wall featuring customer drawings, and the sounds of the bowling alley from right above. The noise did not bother Brie, but may not be great for some dogs. This place opened in 2023 and has fun events like live music, name that tune, happy hour, food trucks, and an upcoming Halloween party on 10/28.

Having never been to Wildwood, we of course had to Yelp breweries. Anglesea caught our eye due to having seltzers and hard sodas. We arrived mid day on a Wednesday and the place was surprisingly steady (good sign). We each picked a different flight of 4 beers ($12). My personal favorite was the Sicilian lemon water ice! In fact, it is the best seltzer I've ever had, hands down. They also have hard birch beer, which was good and a hard iced tea - also good. I even took a can of the lemon water ice with me ($6). If we are ever in wildwood again, we'll be back!

Recently opened, Anglesea Aleworks is a pleasant addition to Wildwood. I'm visiting off season, and I was pleasantly surprised to find them buzzing with the excitement. It's located in a somewhat older commercial building, but there's parking. Wildwood has a funky vibe, and Anglesea Aleworks is no exception. I like all the colors and laid-back decor. I tried the Haze Mat IPA, and it was delicious. It's nice seeing a brewery get it right so soon. They are more of a tasting room brewery. You can tell they're a hard working small business. If you're in Wildwood for the summer, and you need something to do either on a rainy day or in the evening after the beach, feel free to try them out.

My family stays in Selbyville for our annual vacation…read moreevery June and usually venture up to the Indian River Inlet and down as far as Assateague Island. On a Thursday mid-afternoon we were on our way back to the house from the Indian River Inlet and were in the mood to relax with a beer. Luckily, Bethany Bay Brewing was right on our way home so we took a little detour. The parking lot was pretty empty but to our surprise it was rather crowded. The beertender, Mack, was right there to greet us. She was very nice and helpful, did a great job explaining their tap list, and even gave us recommendations for other local establishments to try out. She also gave us an opportunity to taste any beer before we ordered a pint which is much appreciated! My dad got an IPA while my mom and I got flights (5 pours for $15). I enjoyed all of the beers I tried, especially the Blueberry Blonde and Blood Orange IPA. I would have been happy ordering a full pour of any of the beers I had in my flight (I also had Riptide Double IPA, Dark Seas Chocolate Stout, and Birds Nest Lager). They also provide complementary popcorn to their guests which is a thoughtful gesture. They have seltzers, wines, and ciders available for any non-beer drinkers out there, and I did see a sign signifying discounts for veterans and cyclists! If I lived locally I would definitely be a regular here. Next June I will definitely make it a point to stop in and have another flight of 5 beers I didn't try during this visit. We were very pleased with our short visit and were very happy we made the decision to stop in on our way home.

I thought that was strange. The next time I checked the website and noticed they had wings on special that day. I ordered in person, but, I was told the wings were only available at that price during happy hour. The sign they had posted showed that it was all day. She then said the special was only available for dine in. Needless to say, we haven't been back for a couple months.

One moment there was a place with burgers and beer flights, a hum of televisions and bar chatter, and the next there was only silence and a locked door.
