Now that Im not ticked off, I ll write this review. Waited quite a while at the please wait to be seated sign. The bartender kept shouting every few min "Someone will be right there." Finally, a manager (Im guessing) in plain clothes had pity on us and sat us down. Now she is 2 of the stars because she was very nice. She did tell us that she was not a server. Took her 15 min for 3 drinks and I went to the bar n asked the bartender for menus. Asked for a beer menu and it is no more. I hate squinting at taps So after we ordered an appetizer from the manager, she finally rounded up a server for us. Took about 30 min for appetizer. Cheesy garlic bread was good. Now we made our own pizza and 1 person ordered a calzone. Pizza was half veggie n other half chicken. It was eh. Sauce was not flavorful at all. Chicken was dry.I ate one piece and have leftovers in the fridge. The calzone was mostly dough n light on toppings per my sis n law. Third star is for the Maumee Bay Amarillo ipa. We try to check out and the credit card machine is down for about 10 minutes. I was so ready to get the heck out of there I left my leftovers. Manager chased me out the door with it. Thanks but a no go for me. $70 for bad service.

We stopped at one of our neighborhood pizzerias and this place was great! The service was fast and friendly and we never had to wait on a refill. The pizza was delicious the bread and oil was ok but, I would of thought they would of made more of a homemade bread. Im looking forward to a anther visit to this place!

Very good food, and a great atmosphere. The wait staff does a good job taking care of you and you can also tell they know the menu as they are quick to help with a suggestion! Prices are reasonable and the beer selection is great!

Note the second from the bottom (ritterguts gose)!!

The craft beer selection, at least in terms of uniqueness and quality is, at times, pretty outstanding. The pizza is usually really good, but occasionally, it's just average.

Great craft beer selection on tap! We ordered the BBQ, spinach artichoke, Italian and the taco pizza. The favorites were the BBQ and spinach artichoke! The taco pizza was soggy and the Italian was nothing outstanding. They forgot the breaded artichokes so we didn't have a chance to try those...

Went there Saturday with family and friends. What a great night!…read more Two of us had the lasagna and it was incredible. This isn't the usual lasagna. It's similar to what you know, but different! I bet it had 10 layers. The sauce was definitely made in-house. Not too sweet, not too bitter/sour. The one thing that's different with Calvino's is I couldn't detect or find any ricotta cheese, and I didn't miss it. It was a very generous portion, and it was perfectly cooked. No dry pasta or burned edges. I opted to add some Italian sausage which was the perfect addition. The other person who ordered this added sausage and ground beef and said that his was perfect. Either way, you can't go wrong! Another person at our table ordered the butternut squash ravioli. She was kind enough to let me try a piece and it was absolutely amazing! She ordered it with the olive oil and garlic sauce, which was the perfect pairing. This was as good or better than the butternut squash ravioli at Martini's in Columbus. The pasta had great texture (definitely fresh pasta) and the filling wasn't gluey in any way (this filling can have a tendency for textural issues). I'm definitely ordering it on my next visit! Someone ordered the chicken and pesto sandwich and raved about it. The last person at the table ordered the linguine with olive oil, garlic and mushrooms and again, it was perfection. All entrees were served with bread (ahhhh, those great little nuggets of fresh baked bread, drizzled in butter and sprinkled with cheese...) and a really nice, fresh salad. I would bet that the dressings are all homemade too! From past experience I can attest to the stromboli being outstanding (get the Godfather!)! The pizzas going by the table looked pretty amazing too, but I've not had their pizza. Appearances can be deceiving, but from the looks of the pies and quantity of people ordering them, they have to be pretty great too. Calvino's does not have a full bar, but they do have an extensive wine selection and some nice beers to choose from. If everyone at the table is ordering wine, go for the bottle as it will save you money. They have some really nice, inexpensive wines that pair very well with pasta - you won't break the bank on wine (but you could...)! All in all, it was a great night! The bill for the two of us came to $55.00 (that's including the tip)! The service was great, the food was outstanding - the best Italian meal I've had in Toledo, hands down.

5.0 Service, 4.25 Food…read more My sister-in-law/friend treated me to dinner here tonight for my birthday. The ambiance is exactly as I remembered- Italian casual but quaint and comfortable. We were seated in a booth that allowed for private conversations. Our server was Frank and he was top notch! He consistently checked in with us in a very nice, helpful way. He shared that he also had experience working in the kitchen and tried most of the entrees, so it was great that he could offer that perspective when questioned about the menu choices. My friend ordered the Shrimp Al Forno with a chopped salad and I ordered the Seasonal Salmon with green beans and the smashed potatoes. Both entrees looked and tasted delicious. My friend's order was a huge portion of shrimp combined with pasta, mushrooms and cheese in a light cream-tomato sauce. She said it tasted lighter than it initially appeared and gave it the highest rating of 5 stars. My salmon was a generous portion with a slight bit of a cream dill sauce on top. The green beans and smashed potatoes provided the perfect delicious sides for the salmon. My first bite of the salmon had a slightly fishy taste but the combined green beans and potatoes balanced it out. I had recently eaten salmon at a restaurant in Toledo, OH where the salmon spoiled me, but this dish was also delicious (explaining a slight deduction of stars). Frank was fabulous in every way and we had a very enjoyable experience. The prices also seemed appropriate for the entrees. I should note that there are daily specials. Today was house wine for $4.50/glass. I ordered the Chardonnay but quickly exchanged it for a non Happy Hour upgraded wine and Frank very promptly remedied the situation and checked in to make sure I was satisfied-which I was. If you're in the Lambertville/Bedford area, it's a nice local option to have within a comfortable ambiance. Also, we both took home leftovers! Definitely recommend! Check out pictures! P.S. This restaurant only provides a complimentary birthday dessert if you dine on your exact birthday. I didn't really care, but my SIL asked, so it's worth noting. In contrast, some restaurants will give you a birthday dessert even if not celebrating on the exact day. While I didn't want dessert, it struck me as a missed opportunity on the restaurant's part.

3.25 I've dined at this restaurant many times over the years…read more- the last time was over a year ago. I still find the retro historic ambiance charming- with its over-the-top velvet wallpaper, ornate chandeliers, and white tablecloths on each table. I don't believe any decor changes have been made over the decades. It's part of the restaurant's signature charm and I love it. It was a rather hot and humid day in Michigan and I immediately noticed that the AC wasn't keeping up with the heat. Still, it wasn't overly uncomfortable. Even with a 6pm reservation, the restaurant was very crowded, so I attributed the heat to the crowd and some of the sizzling plates, in addition to lack of adequate AC. . Our server greeted us promptly and told us about the specials of the night. She took our drink orders and came back to take our food orders. My friend ordered filet mignon with a baked potato, with a beef vegetable soup. I ordered the Halibut Special, broiled in butter with shiitake mushrooms and a baked potato plus a side of steamed asparagus to share. While awaiting our orders, we were served exactly two pieces of bread ("dirty bread"?!) and a basket of bread or pretzel sticks. The bread wasn't even warm and I didn't eat it further after one bite. That was okay because I was saving myself for the entree'. When our entrees arrived, they looked appetizing. Upon taking a bite of my Halibut, however,I was underwhelmed. It wasn't horrible in any way but didn't impress me as anything amazing or crave-worthy. The asparagus, imo, should have had the stalks cut down further to cut off the yellow parts of the bottoms. It was a decent sized portion though. My friend's filet mignon was "good" according to her, though no further enthusiasm. It was a pleasant enough dinner though it was rather loud and difficult to converse at times. Our server was polite, pleasant and efficient. Upon being served the check, (I was treating for my friend's birthday), I glanced at it but didn't study it. Later, I was surprised to see a petty surcharge of .50 each for sour cream for the two baked potatoes that were included in the entrees. There was also an upcharge I didn't recognize for some type of cheese? I just don't like being nickled and dimed, so it irritated me. I left the restaurant thinking that I wouldn't hurry back and that I would order a pasta dish. However, it's definitely worth checking out for the experience if you haven't tried this spot. It's very close to Toledo and there's plenty of free parking. Check out pics below!

The ambiance is the usual with a large parking lot, a check-in desk upon arrival. Every staff member was extremely friendly. The establishment seemed clean and inviting. Our food was well received by most of our group. Service by Joseph could not have been better! He checked in with us appropriately with updates on the status of our meals. He had a very chill personality while also being responsive to our needs. The food is typically reliable for Olive Garden- generally solid but not a 5 star experience. The atmosphere was upscale without feeling stuffy, and the service and timing throughout the meal were stellar. We started with the fire grilled artichokes, which were smoky, tender and served with a delicious dipping sauce. Everyone also had either a Caesar or house salad, and both were fresh and very good. For dinner, we ordered the mushroom meat loaf special, the 16 ounce New York strip, steak and fries, and the barbecue baby back ribs. Every dish was impressive. The mushroom meat loaf with mushroom gravy was awesome, especially with the roasted Brussels sprouts and their Not Your Ordinary Mac and Cheese. It was rich, flavorful and easily one of the highlights of the meal. The ribs were tender and flavorful, and the steaks looked and tasted great. The only issue was that my wife's steak came out quite a bit more undercooked than she ordered. Outside of that, everything was excellent, and the employees handled the entire evening professionally. Great food, outstanding service, cool ambience and a staff that clearly takes pride in the restaurant. We would absolutely come back.

To my surprise the parking lot is packed and there's nowhere to park. No signs or anything indicating you can park around the back as I found out later so I ended up parking in the lot next door. They only have a few chicken items on the menu. One chicken sandwich and one roasted chicken dinner. I got the chicken sandwich which is the Hyde park. This is the same exact sandwich I've gotten every time I've ever been here which is why I really haven't come back because there's not a lot of selection for me. The other reason is they got rid of the croissants on the menu LOL. The service was fast and friendly and there was about a medium sized crowd inside despite the parking lot being full. They have kind of a dark semi romantic atmosphere I guess they're going for. The chicken sandwich was nice and tender. I'm not a fan of the shoe string fries because they remind me of Steak and Shake and at this price point I think they should have some good fries here. They actually had a few craft beers on tap but I thought the cocktail prices were a little extreme at 15 plus. My girl got the roasted chicken with mashed potatoes and the potatoes were ice cold so they lose a star for that. Other than that I have no complaints except that the pricing for lunch. $20 for a chicken sandwich is a bit much to me.
