100% a must!!! Extremely clean restaurant, super friendly staff, and the PHO was one of the best I've ever had.

The restaurant is super clean, the staff is so friendly and I mean really super friendly and helpful. The food was incredible. I LOVE PHO, especially on cold and rainy days which today is... It really hit the spot and we will definitely come back again and again.

The best pho I've ever had!! I'm still salivating over the spicy beef noodle soup - incredible broth. I love how the beef is tender and thin as I've had thick and chewy cuts at other restaurants. Everything tasted super fresh and crisp too (shrimp summer roll, vermicelli dish, the side veggies for the pho). And their Thai tea is delectable as well. My family only gets their pho from here, and I'm glad I finally got to try it! Will be back frequently.

The service was great! The service staff was so kind and attentive! Super sweet and engaging with other customers as well. The atmosphere was cozy and not overbearing at the time we came in. Food came out hot and ready and was tasteful! I enjoyed it will come here again!

Ambiance: (5/5) Great seating! Price: (3/5) I bit higher than I am used to. Food: (3/5) The pho broth was a salty and I don't think there was enough meat or noddles. The picture is after I added a bunch of sauces. The beer was tender, but left me wanting more. Service: (3/5) I walked in and had to get my own menu, but noticed they were handing everyone else menus when they walked it which I thought was odd. No issue with getting the menu, just weird that I was the only one that went up to get my own. In conclusion, I won't be coming here again.

Overall, not bad. I had the veggie pho with vegetable broth. The broth was plain but not terrible. I would recommend asking for extra noodles.

For over 10 years, this has been my go-to Pho restaurant above all the rest; however, sadly, after my unpleasant experience on Monday, September 5th, 2022, I will no longer be a recurring customer at this establishment. While the food is delightful, the servers have become extremely lackadaisical in their delivery of service over the past few months. The restaurant was slightly busy; however, after serving three glasses of water to a family who came in after my guest and I were seated, the server came over and asked me and my guest if we were ready to order and if we needed a menu. Assuming this was done because they knew how much I frequented the establishment, I kindly stated that I knew what I wanted to order and didn't need a menu. The food was mediocre this time around (possibly due to the kitchen being near closing), and in the attempt to aid them in their expeditious feat to clear the restaurant for the evening, I noticed they had a QR code payment feature on the receipt and decided to pay through my phone. Upon successful payment of my meal (see attached screenshots), I proceeded to exit the restaurant; however, halfway out the door, I hear the server Luan screen from behind the counter "Noo Noo, come back! No pay!" - Giving them the benefit of the doubt that maybe they weren't yet familiar with this new self-payment system , I turned around and proceeded to walk up to the register to show him my payment confirmation (both via website and email). The server (lacking the capacity to speak proper English), consistently stated "No. No pay! I do not have your payment" and repeated himself several times in an abrasive and aggressive tone. After about 5 minutes of back-and- forth communication exchange, me threatening to call the police and me checking my account to also witness that the transaction at Pho Golden Star had been processed, the server then (AFTER the fact) went into the system to see that the transaction was indeed processed, and then issued a REPRINT receipt (attached) that CLEARLY denotes that the payment had already been cleared. There was no need for me to provide him with my form of payment a second time, and there was no need for this accusatory unfortunate situation to have occurred in the first place. As much as it saddens me to write this, it behooves me to provide an honest account of my experience in hopes that no one else has to undergo the level of embarrassment, lack of respect, and total lack of courtesy that I had to endure after being a faithful consumer of this business over the past 10 years.

Never ordering from this place again. The presentation is horrible, I barely got any onions, chives or cilantro! I called to complain and they did nothing about it! Never again! Horrible presentation and horrible customer service!

I have come to Pho Golden Star for years, They were my top rated pho in the area! I would even go at 10 am to have a bowl of Pho (My friend told me the original owners sold Pho Golden Star) and ever since then it has declined. I don't like to give bad reviews, but i will give constructive criticism. I continued to support them although the broth and service was different. But this last week i placed an order through the phone for pick up (i didn't pick it up my brother did) but they gave him the wrong order, i thought maybe they heard me order two and opened a box and it was a shrimp pho - I went back to go return it and told the man it wasn't my order (He was very upset, and yelled at the younger one in vietnamese) i understand accidents happen! This is what made me no longer support them: they gave me the same box they had packaged the shrimp in (i ordered a beef pho) If i would have had a shellfish allergy that would have been dangerous and could have possibly sent me to the hospital. They also gave me the fried spring rolls that were already in that order (Not fresh since it had been waiting to get picked up and i had to go return in) i had ordered 2 orders so one was piping hot while the others were cold and hard. When i made the return he gave me a receipt that said re print not refund and when i called about this all they said was i'm sorry and hung up? overall I would sadly not recommend them anymore.

Great pho restaurant in Northern Virginia! My boyfriend and I had dinner here after a long work week and it was the best way to destress and ease into the weekend. I got a number 40 (chicken pho) and a tap water. The service was very fast and the staff was very helpful and friendly. On the tables they had sriracha sauce and a thick soy sauce. The pho came with a side of mint leaves, fresh soy sprouts, lime slice and jalapeño/hot green pepper slices. There's a large parking lot in front of the restaurant in case you're driving!

That was a big mistake because Truong Tien is inside and it is amazing! My son and I started with Banh Beo Nhan Kho Tom Chay, a dish of steamed rice cake topped with fried shallots, dried powdered shrimp (prawn floss) and chicharron which you then can top with a spicy sauce. They come in little tiny dishes that you can kind of slurp the rice cake from like an oyster. The combination of textures and temperatures and flavors was delicious - and not too filling as a starter. We wanted to have a Banh Khoai Nuoc Leo (crispy pancake taco-like dish with a dipping sauce) but they were out for the day (we were there at about 4pm) so instead we had vermicelli bowls (Bun Nem Nuong) with Asian style sausage and fried spring rolls. Topped with peanuts and fish sauce, it was fresh and delicious. The host greets you warmly and offers ice water, hot or iced tea (complimentary) and the restaurant decor is absolutely beautiful. There's also a gorgeous display of food for sale near the register, including fried bananas and donut/beignet sort of treats.
