I went to this Vietnamese restaurant VIET HOUSE many years ago and they were very good. I went there this week and the quality of the food has drastically degraded. The pho is not from a robust broth and the Vietnamese rolls are not tasty at all and doughy. The vermicelli bowl is not worth the $15 the noodles are not vermicelli (they are the same noodles as the pho) and the spring roll that is cut in pieces in the bowl is not tasty. Overall the flavors are not worth the price they charged. They need to improve a lot to achieve the flavors they use to be a decade ago. I do not recommend this restaurant. read more

Not sure why it took so long to try this spot as I love Pho. We have tried numerous spots with mixed reviews. Our favorite was in Woodbridge, but this is our spot for our Pho cravings now. Plenty of parking, ample seating & looks clean. Friendly enough service, with fair prices. Our Pho was packed with meat (I added meatballs for $2 extra), and we loved it. I really was surprised with the amount of noodles & meat, some places "large" is just more broth, not here. We enjoyed our Spring Rolls and definitely loved our Pho. The service overall was mediocre, with the waitress asking if we knew what we wanted within less than one minute of getting a menu. She never checked on us afterward (the bill came with the food). Viet House is the best consistently good pho restaurant in this area! Their broth is always rich and flavorful, their ingredients are always fresh and plentiful. My go to is the Tai pho with spring rolls and an iced tea lemonade. What I love most is that when you call in your order is always ready in less than 10 mins and anything extra you may ask for they will provide it with no issue. Perfectly balanced in salt and spice. The seafood was juicy and had a natural sweetness to it. A good sign that the muscles were in good condition at the cooking point. The seasonal soft shell crab was crispy. Because my order was yo go. The sauce came separately and honestly us the best way to have it. The sauce is so good, it's almost better to have it in its own with white rices. Two medium size crabs came in the order. Pretty meaty and clean. * not pictured: thai ice tea - very good. The base black tea was sweat which means it was properly steeped. Sweeten to perfection. What I would skip on- the summer rolls. It's not what you think. It has a cold cut type of sausage in it and no shrimp. The sausage reminded me of the sweet Philippino sausage. The spring rolls were not great either. The tum yum is not what you think. About 2.5 stars. Not my favorite destination for a bowl of pho, but it does the job. There arent too many pho places nearby, so this will have to do. The regular bowls already start out on the expensive side at about $10+ a bowl versus $7-8 that you usually see at pho establishments. The soup is ok - not very flavorful without any punch. The veggies - sprouts, basil, jalapeno are fresh and crunchy though. We also ordered spring rolls. They were sadly bland! I was initially so excited to take a bite, but it was very anticlimactic. The peanut/hoisin sauce to dip it in was also not that great. If I need pho right away and I'm in the area, I'd go back. But otherwise, not the best place for a good, soupy bowl.
