We had lunch here today and the restaurant looked really nice. We were the first one's here but the place started to fill up quick. The staff, especially Cece and Hi were very friendly. They walked us to our table and was so accommodating. On an extremely hot day like today (103F) it was refreshing to walk into a nice cool and nicely lit and decorated place. It was very relaxing. The parking was off the street and is free for 2 hours. There were plenty of spots available just at the front of the restaurant. We ordered the Whole Fried Flounder and the Massaman Curry with shrimp and for dessert the Magnolia Creme Crepe. I am partial to good Crepe dessert... and this place offered different selection. Last night I brought a couple of friends over to the Sisters Thai in Alexandria ... because I had had good experiences in the past. We were seated at our table of four, and had to wait 20 mins to be served water from the start. That was unusual - and although the restaurant was busy it was not packed, so the delay was odd. We ordered the food which was great - high recommendations for the branzino, the crispy eggplant, the roti curry and the mango & sticky rice. The water service was challenging; at one point during the meal when a server came to do a refill, she spilled the water on the table near the food dishes - apologized - but didn't clean up! (It was not a few drops - it was a sizeable amount that warranted wiping up since our group had to reach over for the food dishes in the center). She took off after right after spilling it - and didn't come back! So I eventually caught the eye of another sever and asked for the water to be wiped down. The evening went on - the meal really noteworthy ... but water was clearly becoming more and more of an issue - and this was critical especially considering that the roti curry was spicy! After yet another 20 minutes of trying to catch the eye of anyone with a pitcher I had to get up and request water from the bar area. So although the evening was pleasant it was somewhat disruptive with this lack of coordination - which is really is a basic of any establishment. I would go back again for the food - although I'm disappointed that I brought friends along to try the restaurant and the service was not as expected. As I write this I want to add that if it was a one-off with a water delay I would understand - but it was consistently overlooked, without a spillage being wiped promptly that started to create a less than satisfactory experience. Really lively spot with a bit quirky ambiance. We got a Chicken Pad Thai (as a baseline) and a Red Curry which is apparently spicer than Green Curry. Both dishes were excellent, curry was layered and creamy, amazing with the rice. Pad Thai noodles were bouncy and had a lot of wok hei - really well stirfried. Super cute vibe and good Thai food! Three sisters has a couple of locations in the area and this one has a French Theatre and library vibe, which is really cute. Very good. Normal spicy is probably too mild for me. Good flavors. I like to get a side of broccoli to add more veggies to the dish. It comes with broccoli already but I like a little more. Sisters Thai was not as dazzling as the reviews suggested. I imagine it's because there aren't many options in the area, but it was just ok. The hostess wanted to seat us in the very back, even though there were several tables in other areas. Thankfully, she had no issue agreeing to move us to a better table. The panang curry was very watery, the dishes lacked some authentic flavor, and most shockingly, the rice was overcooked. I also ordered the bartender's choice for a drink and even that was lackluster and watered down. Everything looked much better than it tasted. I've had sisters Thai in the Tyson location and I think it was a little bit better or maybe it was just what I ordered. I felt like my pad see ew was a bit overcooked. The noodles weren't very chewy just limp. I also felt like the som tum salad lacked the kind of sourness I really appreciate in papaya salad. I didn't have a bad experience, just felt like the food served that night lacked authenticity according to my personal expectations. Service was great, no complaints there. I was super impressed and dare I say blown away by just about everything! From the Tom Ka soup right through to the Drunken Noodles - each dish we had was packed with flavours that were bold, authentic, and beautifully balanced. The service was great! Panang curry was too thin, none of the curry sauce stuck to the actual food so it was like eating bland, unseasoned food, and unless I drank the curry the only other way to get curry flavor/sauce was by sopping it up with the rice which was already overcooked and super soggy. Absolutely loved the decor of this restaurant! It's like three places in one. It's has a very unique and spacious bar setup, a cozy restaurant feel, and also a specialty coffee/dessert shop feel. Great architecture overall. The food was a 7/10. Good, but nothing to write home about. For starters, the Crab Rangoon was one of the better ones I've had, as it wasn't overloaded with cream cheese. I looked at photos to see if I was trippin and it seems like the noodle squishiness/slime varies. In my case, the noodles were QUITE slimy. Like very slimy and squishy and gross. In addition to being gross, they tasted very bland. I was so disappointed. $20-22 Crabmeat fried rice: I don't remember there being celery before. Gross. I've never had celery in my crab fried rice anywhere before. Also, the rice was the blandest it's ever been. Even my kid was like, "maybe it's only really good at dinner." $28 Crispy spring rolls: good and crispy but these are hard to mess up. $12 Service: fine. Definitely slow. We are outside and were the only ones so it felt like we got forgotten at one point. I like to make my own sauce for spring rolls. Spring rolls took like 20 minutes. Came here as it was an easy walk from the hotel with a fellow trainer. The food was pretty good. The service was fair. My colleague asked for more cashews than chicken for her dish and they didn't listen. I had to ask them several times for extra cashews. We were done with the meal that we had to ask for them to go. We got some, but probably like 6 of them. Anyhow beside that we sat outside and it was fall day. I order pad Thai and green curry. I enjoyed the curry, however the pad Thai was very average. Cute spot for Thai food, drinks & desserts! I dined at Sister's Thai ALX with my husband last night (07.12.25). We were seated at a small table in the middle of the Magnolia section of the restaurant. While it didn't feel completely cramped, more elbow space and room to move around would be desirable. Seating seemed more well suited for a coffee shop than traditional dining. The overall decor vibe at Sister's Thai is eclectic -- it's a large mix of luxury looking furniture & finishings alongside thrift store esque decor finds. All of our food was flavorful & the drinks were well curated! We ordered the Donald roll as an appetizer. The sauce on roll made the dish a stand out! I also enjoyed the contrast of the rolls' crispy exterior and chewy interior. For entrees we ordered Veggie Tofu Green Curry & Crispy Duck Curry -- both came with rice and can be adjusted to suit preferences for spice level. The veggies were cooked well. They were tender without being mushy & each still had a nice bite. The crispy duck lived up to its name & was delicious! Going to Sisters Thai is like being in your Thai auntie's house with her eclectic book collections and shabby chic decor and a garland of roses around the entrance. There is both a bar and a cafe as well as numerous banquettes, including one next to the piano. Normally, this is a hopping place with 30-45 minute waits de riguer but on a weekday for lunch, my son and I just walked right in and was seated immediately. The lunch specials are quick, fresh, and filling. A tad more heat would have lent more authenticity, but our bad for not asking for Thai spicy hot. I had high hopes for this place. Its interior is aesthetically pleasing, but the food is not all that. Based on popularity and the waiter's recommendation, I got the Crispy Duck Red Curry. I was hesitant because it's Duck, but I thought I'd try something different and treat myself since Duck is pricey yet worth it taste and texture wise. However, the Duck was incredibly chewy to the point it wasn't enjoyable. A good bit of it felt hard to swallow. The Veggies and red curry itself were good. But, not the best red curry I've had. I do prefer my local Thai spot, but I'm glad I crossed this off the list. Me and my friends had this on our to try list and so we decided to check this spot out on a Sunday night. We had a reservation and we were seated fairly quickly. It's an aesthetically pleasing location there's a bookshelf behind tables near the entrances which gives it a coffee shop casual feel, a side area off to the left where the dessert shop space is, and a movie theater sign right above the bar that immediately catches your attention. The menu features a lot of the standard Thai food items with prices ranging from about $12-$32 per item. I will say I haven't been to many Thai spots with such an array of desserts, treats, smoothies and shakes to complement their regular apps and entrees. We order a bit of everything which included donald rolls, bikini shrimp, yellow curry chicken, sisters green salad, crabmeat fried rice (which seemed like most of the restaurant was ordering), and the Thai iced tea. The service was excellent our server was very attentive throughout the evening. The appetizers came out pretty quickly as well as the entrees. As for the food: Donald rolls: The rolls were solid, the duck was tasty but overall a very dry dish I probably could have used more of the house special sauce Bikini shrimp: Decent, simple and effective essentially a mini spring roll but I loved the sweet and sour sauce provided. Yellow curry chicken: Flavorful but extremely spicy even for individuals who have a higher tolerance for that. Sisters green salad: overall good no complaints probably the most basic of their salad options. Crabmeat fried rice: This one saddened me because I thought it would be the highlight of the experience but I found it to be very bland and I spent most of my time picking out small shell fragments as I ate it. Thai Iced Tea: Absolutely perfect just the right amount of sweetness to it. Overall not a horrible dining experience but I did leave feeling a bit underwhelmed and maybe came in with too high of an expectation given the reviews I had been given prior to, but certainly worth giving a shot. read more

Came here for lunch with cap one friends around noon midweek. It was during their lunch rush. Service was friendly but really slow. Food took 45 minutes to come out after ordering, which surprised me- most people looked like they were on their lunch break. I would assume they anticipate a huge lunch rush because they're at the center of cap one campus. My friend said the last two times she was here during lunch she was in and out, so maybe this was a one off. They have a lunch special for $21 that includes one appetizer and a main entree. You cannot switch out the protein ex: chicken green curry is a lunch special but my friend couldn't swap chicken for tofu. I tried the pad Thai, drunken noodles- all delicious. This is a very cute spot. It's well lit and nicely decorated. They optimized the space and there's an internal entrance within the restaurant to their bakery. There's plenty of street parking as well as a nearby garage. Our server was very friendly and accommodating. The menu had many options. I started with a lychee flavored cocktail. The presentation was nice but it was also really good. For my appetizer, I got the garden roll which was very fresh and healthy. I got the khao soi as my entree. It was ok but I wish it had more flavor and/or spices. Although it was a nice portion, it tasted plain. When I got home, I added chili oil to it and that helped a lot. It was missing something but wasn't bad! I even got dessert, deciding to go with their popular strawberry banana crispy crepe. It is topped with a swirl of chocolate Nutella and it was my first time trying Nutella. The Nutella was a bit rich and overly sweet but as a whole, the crispy crepe was nice! Again - oozing with freshness. My sisters ordered bikini shrimp rolls and dumplings which were really good. The crab ragoon was also sooo good.
