We had breakfast here twice during our stay. Conveniently located on the main drag, this place is a gem. Great menu, from omelettes to traditional bacon and egg dishes, hot and fresh coffee. They were very busy when we arrived. It took over 10 minutes for our server to come over to our table. My boyfriend ordered the southwest scramble. When it was brought out, it was only half cooked. The eggs were still mostly raw. The potatoes that we both got were hard, dark brown in color, and barely cooked. The server was incredibly nice and had the scramble remade correctly and gave us a discount for the trouble. We probably won't be back though. read more

I ask if the wait'll be thirty mins and told 'no, not even close'... we waited well over 30 mins to get called down but whatever. Sat and our waitress takes awhile to come over. Young lady who was nice enough but seemed either tired or hungover, we discussed this at length as our food took longer than the three tables sat after us (we decided she must've forgot to put it in as she was doubling as a bartender too?) We get our meals finally after 35 mins and a hearty apology. Food sucked, you've never seen eggs greasier or toast more absent... I asked for it twice and instead received the bill 8 mins later. To avoid a dust up and to make it to our other events downtown, we paid and my GF left a tip against my protest. In summation: rushed food to cover inept staff (both front of house and servers) won't earn you a repeat customer in me. 14 years visiting LP and this was easily the most irked I left a business. I ordered the Ironman: 6 egg whites + 3 fillings of your choice (many veggies, ham, bacon, cheese) and it also came with breakfast potatoes (SO full of flavor!), a bit of fruit, and toast. I couldn't eat it all! My husband ordered a single pancake (which was huge!) and the yogurt/granola. He also couldn't finish it all. We had the worst breakfast ever. Cold food. French toast that was inedible. The waiter did not care. He actually switched with a waitress so he did not have to come back to the table with the check. Two sides of bacon. Mine was burnt. My husband's was raw. Sugar packets on the table did not have sugar, all artificial sweetners. I asked for sugar and he said, "it's right there on the table." After my experience here I was extremely shaken and horrified at the service and the treatment by our server and their manager. They were extremely rude when we tried to have a calm conversation with them. If I could give this place zero stars I would due to how much of a negative impression this establishment made. This was a bad experience for breakfast. Skillet was an omelette instead of skillet. Ingredients included an avocado that was clearly old with mostly brown spots. Grilled potatoes tasted like they had been sitting around for a very long time. We did not eat them... Its pretty hard to ruin grilled potatoes. Our omelette was supposed to come with sour cream but it came with ketchup instead. Service was not what it should be, had to ask for water 3 times and the brown avocado was never replaced as requested with fresh avocado. We needed a table outside as we had our puppy with us. We sat down at a table for 4, but had only two chairs and we were waiting for two more people. The other 2 outside tables were occupied. We told staff we needed two more chairs and were told that we had to wait for other table to open up , as they weren't able to bring the chairs from inside the restaurant outside(note the restaurant wasn't even 1/4 full), add to that our snotty serverEmma. When I asked if we could get two more chairs when the people next to us leave, she rudely replied, you are going to have to wait till they leave. In addition, my daughter's friend's Father also joined us, bringing our total party to five. We were then told by the snotty server Emma, that they couldn't accommodate five people at the table. My daughter's friend and her father went inside the restaurant to be seated, where they were treated rudely by Server Emma and told them " you can't do that shit". The supposed manager came out to ask if everything was allright(knowing it was not). We all ended up leaving without receiving our food. Word of advice: Go elsewhere! Plenty of good restaurants in Lake Placid! This one needs a major lesson in customer service training! read more

Like the other restaurant in this hotel, the only reason this establishment is still in business is their location. Two days before Christmas with many people staying at the hotel, (and they only do breakfast) they had ONE person working in the kitchen. With 10 total customers taking up 3 tables, the kitchen was overwhelmed. For a party of 6, it took 55 minutes from the time we ordered to food arriving at our table. When it arrived, one order was wrong, the French toast on another order was made with eggs containing onion powder that also made the scrambled eggs of another order inedible, and don't try the grits, as they were more like steamed rice. The coffee, at 8:00am, tasted so burnt it could have been from the day before. To top it off, we had to chase down someone to take our payment. While they were kind enough to remove the horrible French toast from the bill, it was 1 1/2 hours to get a badly prepared breakfast. read more

Great coffee! Such an adorable restaurant. Cozy atmosphere, outstanding service, and most definitely the best breakfast restaurant I've ever came across. Took my two children and parents during the weekend, they were busy but the hostess seemed very friendly and was happy to seat our party of 5 and quickly attended to us. Our waitress gave great service and our food was out super quick(about ten minutes) I waitresses for 4 years and I know it's not easy but those girls were rocking it. We were placed in the front near the stage and They decor was adorable. the kids were occupied with their crayons and were so intrigued by the Adirondack animal paintings. But the food was even better! Ordered the hearty mountain and it was so good! I upgraded to the stuffed French toast, my father loved the biscuits and gravy, everyone finished their plates. I was on vacation and stopped here for breakfast after looking at the menu and reading some pretty promising reviews. Everything started out okay, the host sat my boyfriend and I down at a table gazing out onto the beautiful main street. He then brought us glasses of water and told us a waitress would be right over. Then we sat there, for 20 minutes, this is not an exaggeration. I work as a waitress and kept saying to myself they must be busy, I'll give them 5 more minutes. Busy or not, we didn't receive any acknowledgement from any of the wait staff even though tables right next to us were being served at what seemed to be a quick and efficient pace. My patience finally worn thin after I saw a waitress approach a table that just sat down and took their order immediately. We ended up leaving and although multiple staff members saw us get up and leave none of them approached us to apologize or even wished us a good day. This sort of service in my opinion is unacceptable. read more
