I had gotten several bids, but there was just something about them that I knew I would enjoy working with them. My project consisted of re-staining the existing concrete around my pool and also faux painting the stone that was bordering my pool - this was something no one wanted to do and told me it couldn't be done, but I knew it could, and I was nervous, but I had a vision and Jim totally worked with me...I trusted him. My experience was amazing with everyone involved, from the beginning of the project which included the team that came out to sandblast - I do have to say it's messy, messy, messy, but who cares?!?! They were so cool!! And they totally cleaned everything up! I immediately felt comfortable and confident with Jim and his team and their ability to take my thoughts, my vision, my ideas and pull it all together to create an amazing and beautiful hardscape that I will enjoy for many years to come. We had a couple hiccups with weather - rain and wind...to be expected, but Jim always communicated with me and let me know when he would be there. At the end of the project, I told them I was actually sad to see them go - they became such a huge fixture in my life over such a short period of time. I'm very picky and always nervous about having work done. It frequently doesn't meet my expectations. In this case, however, my expectations were exceeded! I contacted 3 companies to get bids. Capital Concrete did an overlay around my pool. It was existing exposed aggregate. They also did matching color work and restoration on my broom finish concrete around my house. Jim and his partner did an amazing job. They were able to match the overlay with the restoration on the broom finish very well. I had old worn exposed aggregate patio and walkway. CCR came in and floated 2 coats of hand mixed overlay concrete with two colors on top then a clear coat. Jim backs his work and products for at least 5 years. CCR did a great job and everything they did looks brand new for much less cost than new concrete. I am currently opening a restaurant and I used CCR to replace our floors. I am more than happy with the results and highly recommend them. We had tile floors to start with and they were extremely difficult to remove without compromising the concrete underneath. CCR did a great job of maintaining the floor's integrity, meaning no dips, slopes or accidental chipping. Cannot recommend Jim more. We worked with him on covering up a stain that was exposed after grinding the concrete slab in our home. We had sent him photos we found on Pinterest and he NAILED IT. The stain was covered and the application looks so natural. Beautiful movement in the color. I hope the photos speak for themselves. Our driveway turned out perfectly. With that said, it wasn't an easy journey. About a year after initially restoring our driveway, some cracks that Jim repaired began to crumble. He warned me this might happen. I called and complained. Jim stood behind his work and came and repaired the work. I still wasn't satisfied. Once again, Jim stepped up to the plate. He completely redid the job and now it looks awesome. Totally satisfied. Lots of compliments. Rich color, nice fauxing technique. Also worth noting is the durability of Jim's work. I have seen other homes in my neighborhood re-stained by other companies and the work hasn't held up. Jim has done other homes in the area and his work still looks fresh after 2-3 years. Very unprofessional. Had new concrete stained not even a year ago. Took 3 times to even get somewhat close to the color or look I chose, and gave up. Paid extra for chemical resistant sealer and water stains it. They made a mess and didn't clean up. Over spray on house and fence. Spilled and stained on front concrete. Took days/week to get a response to calls or texts. Found out from a neighbor that had used this company that she had to tell them to leave her property. Biggest waste of money ever. I have to have it redone at some point. Worse experience working with a contractor. read more

Jim just finished restoring our very large patio area. He did a great job with the color and sealing. They first power washed entire area. Not sure of exact order but filled cracks, primed two coats of color and then sealer. He did a great job with color. He was careful with our plants and taped off our house. He was friendly, professional and extremely communicative. Texted when he was on his way and if he was to be late. I contacted a concrete coating company from one of those free home improvement magazines that you get in the mail. They gave me an estimate to stain and seal my entryway for $5,300. They spent about 3 minutes explaining the process which they said would take 5 days. I called Capital Concrete Restoration (on a recommendation from a contractor who had done some dry rot repair on my house) for a second estimate . Jim came out and spent about 20 minutes with my wife and I and answered all our questions. He quoted us $2,850 and said it would take two days and came with a 3 year warranty, we went with Capital. Jim and one helper finished the job in the two day timeframe and it looks great. They power washer the first day, second day they water proofed, stained (two tone), and sealed the concreate. They cleaned up their mess, informed me how to care for it for the next two days. They were very courteous, professional, and competent. I highly recommend Capital Concrete restoration for concrete staining or other services they offer. read more

While the backyard looks okay (the colors are what we were looking for) the workmanship is sloppy, there are issues that Jim will not address (or even respond to), the concrete has places where maybe they stepped in it and look horrible, it is scratching badly, and the coping around the pool looks horribly done (even though I pointed it out twice). We will have to have someone else come out and fix all the issues and possibly redo. read more
